Running back adversary mode

Jenkiii and I jumped on this game mode last night - I think it'd probably be better if there are more players involved (which can be said for almost everything in GTAO, to be fair). I didn't mind it but I don't think he's much of a fan :D Quite liked the new sound effects, made it feel different to other game modes.

 

Also, unrelated: Had my first populated game of Penned In last night as well - now that was much more fun than I thought it would be.

 

Yeah, we had good fun for a while :) Trying to take on a team of four or five in hot property was a serious challenge - we got outnumbered and whooped basically.

 

But this mode seriously sucks ass. I'm a big fan of any PVP events that allow me to make cash and have fun at the same time. Butt we played five rounds and I walked away with about $1000, sometimes only getting $200 for a win and $120 for a loss. Ridiculous. I blocked my own runner in the final race just to spice it up a bit, otherwise it's: honk, run, $200.

 

Not a lot of thought went into the design, but I'm a big fan of PVP events when I can make a few thousand at the same time.

 

If anyone wants to do LTS on XB1 and accumulate good cash, drop your gamertag and I'll add you. With big lobbies you can make really good money, and it's so much fun.

I haven't tried this since I'm on a break from GTA:O, but it looks so bad I can't be bothered spending even a few minutes to try it out.

 

R* needs to make Rockets v Insurgents into an official adversary mode.

And if they do that, people will call them lazy for stealing the idea.

 

Being R* is suffering.

I played it several times. I do think it is fun, but god it would be way better if more people played it. R* are killing this game. Put out things that would be fun but no one cares unless it is a cash grind. If they just made all things not mission or heist related double pay all the time they might actually get some love.

 

I have money but god, $200? serious?

I don't think the mode is a bad idea and probably is fun, I think the problem all of us have is getting enough numbers

to play it, that to me seems the whole problem with adversary mode.

I'm interested to give it a go when I get chance, as someone who's out for fun rather than just money I'm happy to try these things out, and see how they go. As said before, I really enjoyed Offense Defense even though it was with randumbs.

I was playing bumper cars or something dumb with friends yesterday and they were complaining about not getting paid enough, because everyone got pushed off within the first minute of the round. Use common sense, people. Payouts on almost all job types are time-based now. Take longer, get paid more. Short games pay less but you can also run more of them in the same amount of time.

That's exactly why this mode doesn't work, Nutduster.

 

It requires a minimum of 4 players, which takes time to organise, and then it's all over in 20 seconds so only pays out $200.

 

It's GTA online reality: people play to have fun AND make money.

No, but it helps.

 

Anyway, we've got four days of 2x Adversary modes, so there's all sorts of other games that pay out well. Just trying to keep positive.

After some testing, I admit the mode is broken. It's too easy to win when you are thé offensive team. I played 3 games with 3 rounds each and I never saw the offensive team lose.

 

Once, we were able to Block the Panto for a good minute, but then it was able to escape. I think the time limit is way too long for this game. It's impossible to Block the Panto for this long.

 

They should change thé Biftas into Insurgents, the Panto into a ball or even an empty Panto in thé middle if thé terrain, and make a symétrical football game.

Since these adversary modes are getting soo ridiculous, you guys should get a car football(like the one shown in Top Gear), An empty Panto is the ball, everyone else can come driving anything they want but their vehicle are collor coded to match the team, the objective is ram the Panto into the oponent's goal(which could be a open container, perhaps?).

 

BOOM, something way more fun to do than these convoluted sh*t they have been dishing out to you.

Well by chance I got dropped into the capture job I was thinking about when I first read about Running Back adversary mode but the name escapes

me right at this moment.

 

Two teams on the football pitch at Mirror Park, NPC's for the defense/offense and our characters starting in centre of pitch, one bag, fists only

for battle and get the bag into the goal to win. I made sure I was top scorer. :evilgrin:

 

Way more fun than running back appears to be and lasted the full five minutes and was a close capture, I saved the video of it so I'll add it

here later, really what I think running back should have been.

 

I will play Running Back over the weekend so maybe my views on it will change then.

It's not a deathwatch or a race, it'll never get played. Just have to stick to watching Let's Players have more fun with the game than any of us are able to due to this absolute chess pool of a community who strives to grief and troll above ALL else.

To my mind, these custom LTS are the reason why Adversary Modes exist.

Someone at R*, who gets paid for analyzing squeaking, screaming and simply annoying streamers found out, that they stream those gamemodes most of the time.

Some more executive employee then had the idea to create similar modes - to stream them over and over on R* livestream with screaming and annoying retards playing them.

Some poor developer had to create those modes in half an hour or less. Some other poor developer might have mentioned that Versus Missions already exist and noone play them. He probably got fired.

All GTAO players get spammed with this nonsense AMs since Heists.

I would give 99999999$ and RP to block Martins invites.

 

Two more updates and we have more AMs than missions. While studing the streamer- and playerbase they also found out that the average age of an GTAO player is 9 and that they get the most revenue by those players. Maybe GTA 6 won't include anymore missions, but has official Fisher Price mods available at the garage?

 

Yeah, I know, I don't have to play them, some people enjoy them and they are fun... but, when I can win a AM playlist by simply doing nothing, it means that the whole gamemode is f*cked up and nothing else. Slasher is great, Slasher is fun. But it is most fun when the Slasher gets killed after 31 seconds by someone else.

Adversary Modes are the worst thing added to GTAO this year. This won't change by adding more of them.

 

Most people actually play Stunters vs Bla for money and because they suck incredibly in gamemodes that pay better. They admit the first part of the sentence often and proof the second part even more often.

I've enjoyed all of the adversary modes so far (apart from Slasher) but Running Back is utterly pointless.

I think the mode is a long way from perfect, but I played 6 games last night - and won all 6. The 3 times on Offense we won, and then 2 of the 3 times on D we blew up the Panto (the other won the Panto driver reversed over their own goal line!).

 

So it is possible to win.

 

That said, I think the spaces are too wide - although we played with 6, rather than 8, so maybe it is better suited to 4 vs 4.

In theory it's a fun idea.

 

In reality, it's mediocre. The canyon bridge levels works well, but the other two maps are too wide.

 

You only get one shot at blocking, so most games are over in under a minute, and the payout is pathetic.

With the amount of time spent trying to fill a lobby, I probably would make more money just sitting in my apartment reciving good behavior bonuses.
