Should you get more or less for doing jobs on your own?

I never understood this. On one hand R* seem to want to promote team play but on the other they promote individuals attacking others (getting rewards for killing other players, awards for most kills, unlocks for killing, daily challenges involving killing 20 players).

So why give more to a team of four doing a job when one guy doing it has a far tougher time on the same job?

Anyone think this is fair or unfair?

I don't mind about the payouts... though admittedly it's nicer to get more cash when people are involved. You'd think it'd be an incentive for people to participate, and yet it hasn't changed anything. I find that lobbies are still empty a lot of the time and people won't wait more than ten seconds before leaving.

What I have more of an issue with is the lack of consistency regarding gameplay. I completely understand and accept that variety is vital for longevity and replay value and I also like choosing between aggressive and passive play as much as the next guy... but it seems GTAO keeps lurching clumsily from one extreme to the other. You want us to play nice, R*? Don't set Daily Objectives and Freemode Challenges where killing other players is the objective. Now you want us to kill each other? Then don't introduce a Bad Sport system or release co-op based Heists and missions that require more than one person to access and force players - who are used to viewing every other person with suspicion (and rightly so) - to work together, which potentially leads to blocking off massive amounts of game content. You can't have it all ways and the proof is right out there in every session.

I'm not suggesting a complete segregation of 'friendly' and 'PvP' style gameplay - but R* seem to be encouraging two very different player attitudes/play styles, and they're not working well together.

Sorry. Back on topic: I think there should be incentives to work together, we don't need more encouragement for 'lone wolves' in my opinion... but this game has such a split personality it makes that hard to do.

I think that you should get just as much doing solo as you do as a team, because when you're doing a job solo, it's more difficult, and some jobs don't pay what they're worth on solo. Some players like me like playing solo, so we do not have to deal with trolls and randumbs.

Yeah you'd think if anything it would be balanced by giving solo players more money for doing a harder job rather than the easier it gets, with the addition of more players, the more money you get.

It should be the same payouts at least, otherwise it would discourage teaming up.

You should either get the same amount of cash/rp for doing things solo or even more than that.

Why we get better payouts for playing with others is beyond me. I am well aware of the fact that Rockstar is trying to get us playing together with others but it's hopeless with the poor matchmaking we've got right now.

I think it's best to go solo missions when building up your RP. I do enjoy the team missions I get involved in - did a brilliant Dock To Stock today when the four of us got the Cargobob and container quicker than I've ever played. Then had a great 2 player Land, Sea and Air with a 50 rated player (I'm level 130 on my 5th or 6th character) who delivered his heli right behind me. I like how the end of No Hay Bronco is different in a multiplayer mission.

I do my multiplayer missions as an on call player unless I've got a good friend in session - so total luck of the draw, and it can be harder to win when the other players fcuk things up ;)

And to finally answer the question - yes, you've done all the hard work yourself. Not many missions really require the multi player element. Can only think of Death from Above, Out of Harmony, Docks to Stock, and the Merryweather safe breaking missions I can't remember titles of really needing a team for success.
