How many of you dislike online because of children?

I've only had GTA Online for a week and have gotten Rank 32 so far. Only 3 days into it, all these children, 7-14 (I count 14 as children, they are to me now, I'm 20). These children at higher ranks than me, talk trash constantly. It absolutely disgusts me of how many children play this game. It rather offends me when children say I say "You suck at GTA", You sound like an 13 year old" (that came from an 11 year old)...

 

I really wish Rockstar would do something about this. Or maybe the parents shouldn't so ignorant and let their 10 year old throw a tantrum for the game. I'm sorry, but I bought the game at 19, I bought the Xbox Gold, and what did you buy? A candy bar? I had this kid send an in-game text saying "cum get bounty nerd"...???

 

I seriously wish they'd crack down on all the children playing this. this game is rated Mature for a reason. So many people don't realize that stuff like that actually happens. I wish the parents weren't so stupid to buy their child a game like this. I remember the first freaking Playstation (and still have it). I played Spyro as a kid...

 

So how many of you really don't like online because of underage children?

I don't give a crap about anyone's age. If you're annoying I will mute you. I regularly play with someone who is 10. Didn't know it when we first started playing cause he plays pretty damn good and always came off as mature in his messages.

I played GTA as a kid...also Turok, Goldeneye, Medal of Honor, Duke Nukem, Dino Crisis, etc. So I don't have a problem with kids playing the game. He or she just needs to be mature enough.

 

The difference is online gaming didn't exist on Super Nintendo, N64, Playstation, etc. Nowadays, we're all connected. It's not uncommon for us to hear Micky Mouse call us a "bitch" or "motherf*cker." Nobody wants to hear that from a 10 year old. It's revolting.

 

By the way, I have my chat set to crew only. I don't babysit while playing video games.

I mute everyone but friends and crew, so I really have no idea what ages people are (except when I see their awful DayGlo cars or read their imbecilic texts to me). Occasionally a squeaker ends up in a job with us; we boot him.

I have my voice chat set to "Friends and Crew" also, so I rarely ever have any clue of what ages people are in a lobby. If It happens during a job and someone is just being annoying, I mute said person and continue along with the job or whatever else it may be.

Bit of a non-sequitur for a title. I like online regardless of children and equally dislike it regardless of children. I find kids laughable, especially when they are playing a game they really shouldn't be playing, but equally find it tragic they believe in something that isn't real and will come to learn how stupid they are being.

Kids will play these types of games regardless of the ESRB rating of a game. And R* can't do anything about it. It's all on the parents who buy the game for them. Sh*t, kids dont even have to ask their parents anymore.. If someone they kno has the game digitally and doesn't mind sharing the game, they can just do a license transfer and boom.. they can play as well.

 

Best thing to do is to just set your chat to crew and friends. Then you wont be so annoyed by kids playing GTA: Online

This topic is such a one-sided conversation. People can be dicks no matter what their age and honestly I've met more older players that were way more unpleasant than any 14 years olds I've played with. I remember meeting this kid, told me he was 13 and I did a bunch of missions with him. Offered me rides, did the mission properly and if he screwed up he apologized. Now go do missions with older players. You'll most likely get called a racial slur or run over by a Kuruma. Fact: that car isn't age-gated, many older players use it. Griefing has no age so it bothers me when people make threads like this saying, "kids ruin this game, I want to play with older players". Well, good luck because there's a bunch of old pricks playing and this game is a perfect way to let their immature side show and take it as a game, not something more serious.

Again, this was from my experience. Here's hoping you meet some cool younger players and realize that getting those younger fans to enjoy the game is the way to go. If I hadn't played GTA 3 when I was like 8-10 years old, I probably wouldn't be a fan of the GTA series...so go easy on the "kids". There's options to avoid them: passive mode, mute, change session. I know there's also some crews dedicated to "X age & above" so you got options to make the game more enjoyable.

Just have everyone you kno go to the annoying kids profile and block them.. problem solved

Well,not all kids are bad.Most of my friends are 12-year olds,they can be cool to play with sometimes.As pointed above,even if the kid has an explosive or hydra,he/her is still an easy target to deal with.

OP is screwed up. Made an account just to post this useless thread about kids. Grow up OP and some kids do spoil things during a critical situation, but not all of them. Don't be so biased. It isn't like you weren't a kid a few years back. Going all thug life 'cause you made 20? Still a long way to go man. You are still not a proper adult.

You are still considered a newbie till you reach level 42 at least, or you have had played the game for a couple of months. Anyways any person with a second character below 42 would usually max his/her character's stats.
