Is GTA:O a realization of the gta formula for you ?

Many fans agree and i know many gta fans

It has everything i wanted from a future grand theft auto game since gta 2

off course this game series should stay Singleplayer focused but i see why rockstar wants to realize their idea of a modern Open World "mmo"

what do you think ? it s one of those gta games where i feel like a real criminal, i wouldnt say that about gtaV

I'd have to agree, sure GTA V & Online are great & all, but you no longer feel like a criminal at all. It just lacks a certain something, that I quite can't place a finger on.

Pretty much. I love the game. Goldadder explained the vibe well

Don't remember any GTA game telling me to behave myself. I will if that pussy stops spamming stickys from the insurance-safety of the T20.

So nope.

I don't really feel like a criminal, not low key enough for that. I own a jet, when a jet terrorizes the city, how many people could they possibly investigate?

I have four massive luxury apartments, each filled with amazing cars that have millions in them. You'd think a criminal might stay a little more conspicuous.

A tank. A tank.

I feel more like a dictator. Does whatever they want, when they want, where they want to.

Maybe R* had better plans for it, but players done f*cked it up with their hacks and money glicthes. IDK

But what we have now sure ain't feel like a criminal type of game, especially with those new free roam missions. Doing wheelie's, hunting the beast?

WTF happened to the old free roam missions, they were better and we could use more of them. Now the new Lamar missions probably satisfied some gangbanger enthusiasts.

Maybe if we had like illegal gambling, more places to rob and maybe (idea) sell dope on the streets while some rival gangs try to stop you?

As for now it feels like Sims mixed with Battlefield.

it lacks being lowlife and a strugle for reasons.

once you have enough ingame money there is nothing to gain anymore

you dont realy rule anything to.

also that stuff with the jobs both in seperate lobbies or in freeroam, only reason to do them is money

you dont have to fight for sertain turfs or properties, you dont have to please the main npc's to avoid punishment or to get their suport, you do not realy work together in a gang with other people for many reasons exepts when heisting....

for that to happen this game does not need to be redesigned, but we need a new gta thats better thought about

with main npc's that reward you with protection if you please them or start sending people after you if you make them angry, you having to protect youre poor ground turf and when you climb up you needing to protect youre buisness and properties

also doing assasinations youreself on players and thus getting prestige from people and sh*t

you know, a world were the big ones rule but fight against eachother and you needing to work with or against all of them

No.

R* have Red Dead to either realise or abandon as their next game. I hope its the former because Redemption was the best R* game for story and missions IMO.

Gta iv had a very competitive community with the driving and shooting.

Gta v tears the competitive shooting side out of the grasps of gta iv players and adds this hand holding b/s for people who don't like putting the effort into their games. Same with the driving aspects, they made it too easy. It's hard to take a race serious when ppl can "catch up" or "roll over" and it`s hard to take a dm seriously if you're lvl 10 with nothing but a wiener in your hand to protect yourself.

Gta iv had an even playing ground for everybody. No advantages unless you picked up armor lol . I hoped that they would stick with the iv formula but fans want an easy and "flashy" experience. I could go.into depth with everything but some ppl get butthurt by opinions.

To OP - yes, given the current culture of gaming and the marketplace, GTA: Online is the purest realization of the gta formula for me.

After a couple years of being a criminal the novelty wears off and its just another job... Its the world that I enjoy, I don't need a giant story, although some npc factions or gangs would be a nice addition.

I cannot wait to see the new red dead and gta... Just keeps getting better imho.

So nope.

Do you honestly believe everyone is a saint and is willing to die for free or on the cheap? Ha! Only morons allow others the benefit of a 'little to no cost kill'. I play like the "pussy" you are describing (except spamming stickies) and I see more "pussy" actions coming from those who actually have to pay for their kills, then those, like me, that are not trying to give away kills for your sadistic pleasure.

Gta logic

Guy with super car throwing sticky bombs

You blow up said super car sticky bomber

You pay 30k to stop that asshole.

I think that the higher the mental state is the cost of insurance should drop.

But why make any logical sense right?

GTA was never a great crime simulator. Regardless of what happened in the story (which varied from game to game), there always came a point where you were in free roam, running over a hundred pedestrians in a row and somehow getting away with it. Or stealing a tank and massacring every cop in the city. The terrorism/dictator simulator aspect has always been there. GTA Online just ramps it up, because people keep playing after they make their millions - unlike single player, there's always more to buy. So we just keep making more and more, and acting less and less like street criminals. It is what it is.

Personally, this game is close to the ideal GTA experience for me. It's not without problems, but in many ways it's what I always wanted out of a GTA game.

Definitely not. Too much grinding and nonsense limitations. Why do I have to shoot down 5345345 players to obtain that gun tint? Or why can't I store a police car? Why can't I recolour any part of clothing? Why can't I repaint my Hydra or any helicopter?

GTA O was billed as a criminal RPG based on ranking your way up in the criminal world.

Instead, Rockstar have created an MMO based around the endless cycle of playing the same missions hundreds of times, buying stuff, playing the same missions, buying stuff etc etc with no end point.

I agree BUT they have to add in more crime based adventures and missions, e.g. pimping, drug dealing, ya know, real empire building stuff.

I think it might be the lack of creativity with the missions. The Lamar missions and Heists are fun but the missions from GTA Online's inception were pretty basic. No cutscenes or details. Just, steal this car or brown square called a package and deliver it to a yellow blip. Booooooooo. I like the missions with hacking or some type of unique objective.

Imo GTA 5 feels too vibrant for a GTA game, at least in my opinion. Yes, Vice City was vibrant too, but that was the 80's.

Nope, Gta online is fun for a while, but at the end of the day it feels like a mmo and there is too much grinding. Even though I played a lot more of gta online than gta V, I find that gta V was more fun to play since I'm all about the missions.

To be honest, it is like a bastardazation of a real GTA. If all the GTA games were a family this game would be like that weird cousin or uncle that always want to get attention for some reason, and it sometimes works.

I like GTA O and I play it very often, but it's not a realization yet for me, it has many great feature, but it has many great flaws yet to work, like it's lack of an actual story line. I am confident, however, that when GTAO 2.0 comes around, it will be an amazing game

I hope they don't end up adding a main storyline to GTAO. The ones in MMOs always drove me nuts. They're always railroaded down a set path, with only the illusion of options, and usually very hamfisted and over the top. Then you end up with 50,000 "Chosen Ones" running around that have all saved the universe, and.... no actual people. I'd rather take the gang territory like SA had and expand on the concept. You can pick a criminal faction to side yourself with, start off at the bottom doing grunt work, and work your way to the middle. Carve out a comfortable existence, but always have those above you to give you jobs and keep you in check, while taking those below you under your wing and keeping them in check. Expand your territory, while other gangs are trying to expand into yours. Don't get too big time, and don't get careless or sloppy. Keep the heat and attention off you.

And while GTAO does a lot of things right, I think it's main flaw is that it's too easy to get big time, and then acting like a comic book villain. And it seems that's exactly what a lot of people do.

the beauty of gta online is that you can do what you want....you wanna be a low life criminal? you can, there are cheap sh*tty clothes, small apartments, modest cars convenience stores to rob, small missions to do etc

you wanna be a gang banger, you can

you wanna be an underground street racer, you can

you wanna be an executive, you can

you wanna be a stuntman

police roleplay/ detective, you can

assassin, you can

top level crook, you can

psycho murderer, you can

civilian, you can

my main character is a pimp and my second is a female life guard, its literally your choice

a lot of people do not have the immagination and creativity to really enjoy the experience, they want a scripted story but that is not what gta online is about

I agree with your entire post. That part however gave me several visions of all the players you see dressed as the Joker (DC Comics) running/driving around terrorizing San Andreas, lol.

The things that really bugs the shot out of me is that R* tries to force people to play together as a "team" ! Why cant we rob a small bank by ourself ? Why do I need 2 more people with me to steal a package of drugs . Contact missions are all "go in guns blazing" where's the stealth were forced to upgrade come in ? Its not that I don't want to play with strangers its that I don't want to play with strangers lol Were supposed to be hardcore criminals but were really just delivery boys excluding Heist's

I too feel like bludgeoning hordes of innocent pedestrians is definitely not violent enough for my taste.
