Isn't that people on the internet in general nowadays? It used to be the place where you could go and find info without having to ask and wait for an answer, but with social media, everyone's gone back to the moronic questioning route. "What time is x film?", "how much is x?", "How do I x?", "Where's the nearest x?" - LOOK AT THE FECKING WEBSITE.I see this discussion board as a place for discussions to happen. Now, I know that the face-to-face analogy isn't without its flaws, but with some adaptation it still largely holds up.

 

In a face to face discussion, if someone mentions something that you don't quite understand or know what it is, you don't just say "hold on a sec" then get out your phone and do some research on google or Wikipedia. No, you ask the people you're in the discussion with what they meant.

 

I find it both strange and ironic that people are surprised that social media is bringing some social interaction back into our lives.

You are incorrect. An answer to a question should contain the information that answers the question, not a direction to look it up, and not a redirect to some other place where the information can be found. If I had asked "ere can I find out what twitch is" then yes, his answer would have sufficed.

Obviously if we were face to face you couldn't literally give me a link. A link is not a physical object that you can hand over. It wasn't a literal state,net, but a figurative one. If we were face to face and I asked "what is something, you would be an asshole if you said "look it up". You would be an asshole if you pulled out your smartphone, searched Google, and handed me the phone. You would be an asshole if you did pretty much anything else besides say "I don't know" or "it's [whatever it is]".

Then you talk about "spending way less time". You're going to say that after you told me about all the effort you expended to do the search and give me the link? It was too late at that point to worry about saving time. If you wanted to save time, it would've been quicker to give a quick explanation like the one after yours, at which point it would've been over. Or if you didn't actually know, it would've been quicker to either say you don't know or, even better, say nothing at all.

We ARE on the internet but more specifically, we are on a forum. A discussion board. The point of this website is to discuss. The point of this website is not to be Google, nor be a proxy to it.

Your whole point about basketball is just wrong. You say I (or presumably anyone) who doesn't know what basketball is wouldn't interrupt an overheard conversation about basketball to find out what it is. Wrong. Wrong, I say. Wrong. If I didn't know what something was, but wanted to know, who better to ask than people who are talking about it and seem to know what they're talking about? So yeah, I get this easy point obviously far better than you do.

But i think that's more probable that they will answer "stfu and go learn something before disturbing people who know what they're talkin about". Personally, on topic, I could not care less about some blatant "look at this crap" publicity stunt where a bunch of people fawn over a non-existent item of clothing. I get more pleasure playing the actual game in 1 minute than I'd get watching that crap and winning that crap. I can see the OP's point about it seeming unfair to everyone outside a suitable timezone, but unless they're gonna do it for 24 hours then that will always happen. It's just a thing, and if anyone's worked up about it then they should take a step back and really, really get some perspective, because they literally have none.

As for Twitch, f*ck Twitch. I don't watch videos. Generally, they are a giant f*cking waste of time. Especially "gaming" videos, where the first 45 seconds is stupid dubstep sh*t that I never cared to hear and the beginning 5 minutes of [many] videos is just bullsh*t spamming, asking you to mash like and subscribe buttons. I'd rather read an article or text-based tutorial where I can read quickly and easily skip sections I don't care about. That's just me though.

their anger misguides their judgement....they shoud realy take some classes at some sort of meditation and guide their anger into something usefull

Rockstar will continue to do this because it means less work for them to make sure every player gets their shirt for signing in that day or picking up the crate with the shirt in it.. Give out a handful of them to a select few, couple hours of work that a temp intern could do.

I agree with xInfamousRYANx and i also say it's kinda obvious that this twitch raffle is nothing to get mad about but still annoying to lose some collectable items even if we make tons of money to buy everything, did the whole thing with freeroam wars when special crates dropped out etc. I mean, back on ps3 i spent a lot of money for those horrible hipster shirts just to have every in-game item and these ones that actually are very nice, enspecially if you like horror theme as i do, are for twitch viewers only? Luckily i gave up with the whole collecting thing when they dropped those awful "fake ill-gotten shirts" this summer but again, a poor guy that fought to death to purchase dozens of those lousy replicas now must stop collecting stuff cause R* introduced raffles

 

I also think what people gets mad about the most, when debating on this forum, is not the topic itself but the answers that are often like "i don't care = no one should care". As already said, i truly would like to see what happens if raffles start being about car/weapons-related stuff... no more mentions to serious problems of real life, all the wise men beards will fall down and all hair being torn away in a sudden twitch of madness

I think it's my fault lol, something similar happened to me also in the "friendly lobby" thread... funny how some people starts fire and then get mad when the weather turns hot I guess they are too used to be ignored so they think they can say whatever they want cause no-one would go on "talking with a brickwall" Seriously, sorry if sometimes i insist on feeding trolls but it's so funny to see how easily they get an indigestion Ok let's tell the whole truth, i have to find someway to spend my time on my long subway journeys going and coming back to work so this kind of stuff really makes my days sometimes Recently i also have to make some missions solo and stay AFK cause i spent all my GTA$ and i'm tired of doing heists... so a lot of free time to spend on the internet, and this is way more funny than twitter or facebook
