Stock Vehicle Variants: What Happened To Them?

Those of you who have played GTA IV may have come across special variants of stock vehicles in traffic or parked along the wayside. Most of these vehicles had purely cosmetic differences; ( VXR body kits on the Intruder and Feroci, Bronze/Blacked out rims on many vehicles, ect.) but some had hidden performance value added too. (ABS on the Vincent LX2007, Superchargers added on the Rancher, Oracle XS, and Patriot, stiffer suspension on the Sentinel XS, ect.)

Now, however, all of those little modification and variations seem to have completely disappeared (save a vary small number), replaced with generic stock vehicles. Mainly out of sheer boredom, I created a on-the-street vehicle variants of the Futo below.

Stock Futo LX

RS300X model powered by a 202 hp I4 with a ball barring single turbo (Air-to-air intercooler) 5 speed manual only

-4-pot disks in rear, 3-pot in front

-Powered locks, windows, and driver seat

-Sport tuned suspension

I miss those little details that made the game feel more life-like, really unfortunate they didn't flesh it out more in GTA V.

I didn't enjoy -IV enough to discover this (or I was waaay too high to remember, either way...)

This is a very cool idea, and I have done a similar thing with cars of my own before (my 3 elegys), but I kind of like the personal freedom to do it like you have done rather than have R* do it for me...

Perhaps this thread should become a user database of vehicle builds for player customization ideas in a neatly organized showroom format?

Or no ofcourse, just typing conciousness stream.

That's exactly what I was trying to do...

I suck at getting my point across :\

There are a lot of fine details that are obviously missing from V. This is simply one of about 100.

Oh I remember the days of car collecting back in 4. There was a gang variant of a certain car or a unique variant of it if you did a certain missions. To answer your question Rockstar probably assumed that now we have LSC there really be no point. Especially now on current/new gen modified cars spawn.

God, collecting unique cars on GTA IV was so f*cking fun.

Unfortunately, that's completely gone in V since the only type of uniqueness stems from rare glitched/modded paintjobs and Yankton plates.

The idea of this topic is great.

But yeah, instead of having different versions of the same car, in V we have older and newer models of the same car, which is better IMO, gives more variety of vehicles on the road.

Examples:

The Cavalcades, Ballers, Oracles...

Currently putting together one for the Sentinel atm, I'll post when I'm done.

NVM. Forgot R* removed the carbon fiber from the roof of the Sentinel, so I can't make the CSL version from IV.

Fooking stupid...

I liked the special paints, like Stevie's Car Thefts, or LancetJade's pearlescent paint cars.

I remember the gang cars in GTA IV. They were unique and added to the immersive experience.
