Grand theft auto 6 needs real life cars

I'm sure rockstar can afford these licenses I mean they've got billions if not zillions of Dollars so why not

n here's a reason

instead of fake low detailed cars why not have real cars with pristine detail

here's an example wouldn't you rather drive a real Dodge Charger ingame rather then driving a knock off vehicle

"Zillion" isn't a number.

Well, it's part of GTA to have spoofs of every company - not just car companies, but all of them. Changing it - for car companies only, mind - this late in the series wouldn't make that much sense.

And as for detail, that has nothing to do with the branding, and I don't know why you think it would. With the amount of cars they have rendered at any one time, having high detail would be pretty bad for performance.

No...

The fictional brands are what make GTA unique...

No, because licensed cars would have to have poor damage system, and they couldn't explode.

wow looks like everyone here isn't a big fan of real life cars....

It's just that as a parody of real life, having licensed cars wouldn't make much sense. Having a Weasel billboard next to a freeway filled with real-life Fords, Nissans, Toyotas, etc would look a bit strange. Especially this far though the series. Blending various real life cars have been a feature of the GTA since the first game. In any case, I think the fictional versions sometimes look better than the real life car.

how about no. jesus christ. let them make their own car brands, they don't need to waste money so you feel good about real cars being in a game.

If there will be real cars, might as well use real-life cities. That would ruin everything GTA stands for (namely having its own universe(s)).

I agree with you. It's about time GTA started using real vehicles and weaponry. Many people on this forum are just afraid of changing the GTA formula, but the fact is they do have enough money to do that easily, and it would be badass to know I'm climbing in a Lamborghini and not an Infernus. This does not mean GTA would have to use other name brands, like Taco Bell or McDonalds. Just do it with the weapons and the vehicles.

Just a big NO.

And

no R* has better things to waste their money on.

Licensed cars have NOTHING to do with the detail in the cars btw.

And R* is a company not some

big rich just for fun company who cam throw millions away on brands...

Your line of arguments sounds rather childish

So how would you go about convincing Chevy and Honda that you want to use their vehicles in a video game to be blown up and robbed?

Is there any example of any games before that had all their cars fully licensed and stealable, blow up-able, etc.

And even then, wouldn't the use of real life cars contrast not too good with the fictional everything else? Why cherrypick? Why not just use real life store brands but fictional everything else, or real life locations and fictional brands? It just seems like a weird thing to cherrypick other than it being "baddas to know" you're climbing into a lamborghini.

Car companies are well known for protecting their image and branding. No car company would be willing to associate their brand with a game that, without a doubt will bring controversy to their image.

No, just no. Fictional vehicles is what made GTA so unique in the first place. Alongside the satirical reimagining of cities of course.

If you would like to use Real Life Vehicles in the GTA World, you will have to wait for the Modding Community to do its Work. :^:

Dafuq what?

We aren't 12 years old, something makes me think you are, at least mentally.

Its simple...

Licensed cars in GTA are a WASTE OF f*ckING MONEY.

They are UNPROFITABLE, it DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE to throw out millions of dollars for licensed cars, there is not one single advantage to it, R* isn't the f*cking welfare, dude...

Dude. You've no clue about the licensing works. R* will have to pay a lot of money to so many manufacturers to allow them use their cars, according to their conditions, meaning the developers may have to face a list of "dos and donts" to strike a successful deal for a limited period of say, 10 years or so.

That's a f*ck load of money towards a lot of manufacturing companies, and just increases according to the number of years permitted for use in games.

That's a stupid business deal. It'll affect the cost of the development and in turn will pass on to the consumers who will have to pay more to buy their games, and to cover up the costs, R* might be forced to introduce microtransactions in the offline mode, and some other ways to even manage the breakeven point in terms of sales.

Nonsense. Rather be more creative with cars, as that's what the very nature of the game development is.

Also, after the license period ends, who will bear the costs to review all those manufacturers demands?

It will lead to content removal, that is, cars due to expired licensing issues. Similar to removal of songs in VC and SA.

Then you will be left to drive with no cars left in the game :p

Well no, it's more that if you start introducing real-life companies you're losing part of what makes GTA, GTA. It's kinda hard to make a parody world when you're using the real companies, because it's not a parody anymore - and that's one of the main things that makes GTA different and enjoyable. It really wouldn't be the same.

O.o

Your ignorance is strong in this one, isn't it?

The made 2 billion dollars of revenue of V, HOWEVER they spend probably 1.5 billion of it again, to give back to investors, employees etc.

Do you even know, business works?
