Can Someone Explain How Heist Progression Works?

Apologies if this was covered before. I've been away from the game for a while (and couldn't find a relevant post here when searching).

I played GTA on Xbox 360, completed the first heist with a friend, then stopped playing. I now play on PC (with my transferred character). The friend who completed the first heist with me on Xbox was able to start the second heist (prison job) without issue, which we completed.

When I go into my apartment's heist room, my only option is to continue the prison heist. All of the setup missions are available, but the finale is not, and the game states that I must complete all setups before I can play the finale.

If the game has knowledge of me completing the entire set of prison heist missions (and transferred my completion of the first heist), why do I not have the option to host the third heist? It looks like the guy who hosted the prison job has to host/fund the Humane Labs heist (we want to split funding duties). Are we doing something wrong?

You need to complete the Prison Break heist as the host for it to show mission progress on your board. Being a crew member, even completing this heist, will not advance progress on your mission board. That's rules.

You have to be the one hosting the heist to unlock it. If your friend hosted the setups, you can't do the finale unless you host the setups

As Jenkiiii says you can't skip a heist, you have to host them all in order, the only way to do the "skip" is to complete the last heist

Pacific Standard finale and then all are unlocked.

Thanks. So the crew member who funded the Prison Break is now forced to fund all the remaining heists (unless we all want to do them multiple times)?

Yes. You must complete all heists as a leader or crew member to be able to freely host heists. Otherwise it will only allow you to host the heist you have not hosted

without online friends or a crew it doesnt. hosting with randoms is just wasting money.
