ChiroVette
Okay, I have a couple of questions about the PS3 version (if that makes a difference): 1. When you drive one of the special vehicles pre-loaded into the 4-car garages, do you have to bring them back or turn them in, lest you lose them? I am early in another 100% completion save and decided to take out the Batmobile Turismo from Franklin's garage. When done with the race, I parked it in his regular 1 car garage in the first safe house you get (the one Franklin shares with his aunt). But eventually, when I lose this safe house when Lester moves him into the house in Beverly Hills Vinewood Hills and I lose access to that ghetto garage, will that car stop being available from the garage as a special vehicle? Not sure if I am supposed to return those vehicles or not. 2. This is driving me a little nuts and I have been meaning to ask this for a while now: Sometimes when I am driving, without pressing the triangle button (enter/exit button) I get thrown from my vehicle. I can't say for certain, but it seems to have something to do with the Left trigger (regular brake) plus the left analog stick. I have failed several missions because I unintentionally bailed on a car at high speeds and died. 3. On the same topic as #2, sometimes I am running and my character will randomly throw a punch while I am hitting X to sprint. I am wondering if that, too, is somehow connected to the left analog stick? Also, sometimes weapons will mysteriously change for no apparent reason without tapping the left bumper. 4. Another time, I was running a race and thought I hit the two analog sticks (L3 + R3) to activate Franklin's special ability, but the only thing that happened was the camera changed angles mysteriously, and I know I didn't hit the Select button. I have the feeling that 2, 3, and 4 are supposed to happen and aren't as random as they seem to be when they happen to me, but is there any way to STOP those from happening? Nearest I can figure, jamming on the brake while making a sharp left turn on the analog stick causes the NPC to bail from the vehicle, but the problem is that I do this a lot with no desire to bail, I am just making an aggressive turn and used both handbrake and regular brake while pulling hard left on the left stick. NikoBellicGTAIV
Uhhh, no they are NOT supposed to happen. Something is wrong with your controller. robban
gooeyhole
Dude forgive me for sh*tting up your thread, but you need to post more. I haven't had your jumping out of cars issue.
XenoxX
Regarding number 4: You only pressed R3 with which you look immediately behind. Regarding 2 and 3:Seems to be a controller issue, did you try it with another controller? About 1: While I am not entirely sure I think the car would remain in the garage or would maybe even be moved to Franklins new Home.
OurJud
Regarding number 1: Just get used to losing any cars you buy in SP. Trying to build up a collection is pointless, and the only cars that will stay with you are the ones you park in your property garage - so long as you return them before switching off. I have two vehicles in my property garage that I really don't want to lose, so I've turned off auto save so that they'll always be there when I start a session. Pedinhuh
Oddly enough, last time I played this I still had access to F's old garage in his aunt's house. You might wanna get a new controller, yours going to die very soon. Or you can try to open and clean it up, if you feel confortable enough to do it(there plenty tutorials on YT to help you out with this).
Seenyour31
To answer your 1st question, any car that is under that list of "special vehicle" in that Strawberry area garage will always reappear under that list even if you take one out and not return it to the garage. However if you do any customization on if you need to return it and drive it into the garage where it will then occupy one of the 4 parking spots. P.S If you're talking about losing that 4 car garage when Franklin moves you don't, if you mean the one at his Aunt's house, I don't remember. Fuzzknuckles
Special vehicles will always be available at your garage, even if you saved one at a safe house you no longer own. You don't need to return them, as they're accessible via a menu, they don't need to be saved. The second two issues are controller problems I believe, as pointed out above. If you have a spare controller, try using that instead. Otherwise, make sure your controller is fully charged, or even try playing with it plugged in, see if that helps at all. You may have had interference on the bluetooth or something. Issue 4? I think Xenoxx is right, you must have just reset the camera, I've done this a few times. Signatures are dumb anyway. FranklinsIron
When you move, now compared to before, the garage at F's aunts house remains unlocked. You can use the special vehicles over and over again. The list doesn't change and the the one you take out, will just be treated as a normal car. Your controller is f*cked up. BlackSnow176
About your first question, you don't lose your cars. But they get impounded if you ditch them. You need to go to the police station and pay a fee of $250 to retreive them from the police garages. ChiroVette
Thanks for the answers, folks! lol I actually forgot about this thread, but just logged on to check it. I am going to try using another controller and see what happens. Its weird, because my controller seems fine in every other way. I will post here tonight when I get home and try it out. Thanks everyone!
ChiroVette
Update: Thanks everyone!! You guys were 100% right. I tried another controller and none of those things are happening. I was actually starting to think that Rockstar added some kind of weird vehicle exiting function connected to the analog sticks, because I noticed that in the middle of driving, while holding the regular brake and jerking the left stick hard to the left, my character would bail on the vehicle. Why I thought it was "supposed to happen" was because he exited the vehicle on the left side while I jerked the stick left and was slamming the brake. So I thought maybe this was some newfangled way Rockstar programmed to exit the car. But this hasn't happened even once with the other controller. If you had bought another controller already, you could try your luck and open up your broken one and see if you can fix it up. Just follow some tutorials on YT and maks sure to be carefull when handling the controller's board, statics coming from your hands can mess it up. MCMXCII
I use to have that issue with my controller too. I looked up several tutorials on Youtube about it and I was able to fix it. If you open up your "broken" controller, you'll see a small black rectangular piece of foam in between the plastic frame and the circuit strip. You will need to wrap a few layers of electric tape around the foam to fix your issue. The foam helps to insure a good connection for the input, from pressing buttons and analog stick movement, by keeping the connection secure to the circuit board. After awhile, that foam piece starts becoming compressed due to usage of the controller. Which will start causing you problems. It's a simple fix that you will immediately notice.
