Drummerman74
I'm curious because my Zentorno is modified with Level 4 engine upgrade, race transmission, turbo tuning, and race brakes, but my wheel type is 'sport' and are stock, not high end. Do the wheel/rim types actually make a difference in the speed and handling?
ChrisGamer1996
My zenterno also has sport rims, I havent noticed any difference in speed and handling, only think I have noticed is that is slides everywhere quite a lot when it's raining but that's pretty the same for any of my cars. Verstappen
Speed? no. Handling? Slightly. Easiest to notice is if you go over curbs and such. Tyres with bigger side walls have a lesser chance on unsettling the car than low profile tyres. That's why some racers always have off-road tyres on their race cars. Drummerman74
Hmmm interesting....what about high end vs stock rims? I noticed they look the same but the price is drastically different. I'll try some off road tires and see if it makes a difference. Thanks!

Stock & high end rims are pretty much the same, off road ones are a little bit better when it's raining and they will also be quite good if we have snow this year with the Christmas dlc. Like we did last year.
Midnight Vibes
The only thing that makes a difference is the sidewall size. Off-roads have the biggest and thus the least chance of unsettling the cars over bumps because the rim doesn't have a chance to hit the bump. It makes near as no difference on most cars but can unsettle some quite badly/ Use off-road tires if you want to be safe and lessen the chance of unsettling, or just use the rims you think look good if you'd rather have aesthetics. Drummerman74
Ok, so I tried the off road rims and did a few laps on Ring of Fire, since it has lots of turns and what not. I saw a significant difference for sure. Actually, I came very close to beating my best personal lap time, so I think I'll stick with these and see how it goes. Hope the snow comes back this Christmas!
Dottie
It affects how your car handles bumps (mostly this) and how it handles (somewhat). Offroad wheels are the best for racing but you sacrifice looks for performance (if you care about it) Edited November 19, 2015 by Dottie

rlk232
Off-road tires create a more firm grip on the road, plain and simple. Your vehicle will seem to slip out a lot less often.
whywontyoulisten
Do Tuner or Muscle wheels have any measurable effect at all on traction? They have a larger sidewall as per off-road, but aren't quite as butt-ugly, and it's easier to keep them looking prototypical. Off-road looks surprisingly good on the Jester, but it'll never work on a supercar.

Take your favorite race car out on one of the city courses like Cutting Corners and try them for yourself Run 10 laps with stock and then change to off road, you'll see your times improve immediately change to muscle and see how much you drop off I've never tested tuners as I dont think they look very good on a car set up for racing Edited December 1, 2015 by TheHammer
Above Omnipotence
Actually, tires do make a little difference. As was already said, Offroad wheels are just simply the best and gives the fastest curb-boost, while Tuner wheels are a very close 2nd. best overall wheels. Tuner wheels works extremely well with vehicles that're understeer. SUV wheels helps with controlling fishtailing. Muscle wheels are great for drifting, won't lose much speed while drifting compared to the other wheels. Sports wheels are your all around balanced wheels, while not the best wheels, certainly not the worst. High End wheels helps maintain your top end speed better than the other wheels. Lowrider wheels are like a next grade down from Tuner wheels but, still aren't the worst wheels for racing. If you know how to actually drive then, you can pretty much at least keep up with the people that only uses Offroad wheels.
