Will we be able to transfer our gta online progress to gta 6?

Not a clue Matt, we're a good 3-5 years away from that discovery. Would be nice seeing that it is suppose to be an ever expanding world.

There's not a clue what R* is putting together for the possible next title, neither what new things will the online mode of the next game (considering it will even exist) have available. You know, as a whole new game it would be nonsense if it was almost a copy of the current version only with enhanced graphics and new storyline. If R* present us a new GTA game on the future, and if that new title also includes an online mode (that should, after the huge success the current one has), I'm expecting it to give me a different experience from the current one, not just "more of the same".

I believe returning players from V should get a small bonus boost, like a 2 car garage and exclusive weapon and car.

And depending on rank, the value of the car is higher.

given thus far the game world hasn't expanded at all I think it's fairly safe to say the ever expanding / evolving / persistant / other buzz words used for the game world is not happening.

 

another way to look at it. 2 years ago gtao the time was 6 months prior to the events of gta5.

2 years later it's still 6 months prior to the events of gta5. in 2 years the game world has not moved forward a single day. and that's why it never evolves or expands.

 

if they do indeed add online for 6 it needs a hell of a lot more structure than what it currently has, at the minute gtao is essentially the same as playing vice / san andreas for years and not doing a single story mission to progress. nothing you do means anything nothing you do progresses or shapes the game world in any way.

 

someone who hasn't played in the last 18 months or so could log on today and would still be in the exact same place as every other player, simply because there is no structure or progression. and that's why people stop playing it. everyday is the exact same as the day before,

 

if 6 does have online I hope its a lot more structured and coop centric, coop has been a hugely wanted feature since like vice city, and was highly requested when 5 was first known to feature 3 main characters. the ability to play as micheal with a friend as franklin or trevor sort of thing, was a very hot topic

I'd like to think so. I don't mind starting all over again money or items wise, but let me at least carry over my rank and character. After 2 years I've become emotionally attached to my char. Since the level cap is 8000, this might actually happen.

Also, if it's set in the past or something, like the 70's - it wouldn't make any sense at all.

Isn't it a bit early for this? But hopefully not. Maybe a returning player bonus, but in, say, five years time we accumulate so much wealth that we could but everything right away.

So (possible) new game is a new game, and it's an empty table for all of us. And that is a reason in itself to wait eagerly for it.

Rockstar said they want gta online to be a continuing world. So my guess is when gta comes out the map, contacts, vehicles etc will be added to online and there will be some way of moving between maps (plane ride?).

 

If they come up with a completely new design for online (as they did from 4 to 5) then a transfer is unlikely as there would be no way to do so

My 2 cents.

 

I think character and rank will be allowed to progress but everything else will be reset, i.e you will go into the new GTA Online

world with nothing except your stat and character/rank history.

 

If it were the case that everything else were to transfer over that would mean all the existing vehicles/weapons would also have to

come with the new game and from memory R* like to change the vehicles/weapons available each game so I can't seem them coding all

the cars/guns over, possibly they might do the all time favourites but that's all.

 

Anyway, far too early to be speculating/discussing the next GTA when no one knows when that will be...yet.

No, they want you to spend money on multiplayer. It's Rockstars cash cow, It's Rockstars Ultimate Team (EA Sports cash cow.).

I'm thinking we will. It's supposed to be an ever evolving world, and I believe that will include 6. I think it's the reason for the astronomically high rank limit. I can see whatever maps that come with gta 6 just added to gta online. I hope it's that way anyway. Screw starting over.

Hope so. Don't mind my levels and such but I'd like my character looks , clothes and maybe cars transferred. Although looks are the most important.

It's fun being a billionaire, having every super with every mod and a Pegasus list longer than your arm, but compared to the excitement when I bought my first sports car, unlocked the sniper rifle etc. those felt like real achievements
