Meh. Whatever.

No need to call you anything, we're all adults. Your opinion and you're entitled to it, I respect that. ✌️

Well, I had hoped to get back to normal posts after 290, but then 291 kinda got away from me, and now the Notre-Dame's caught on fire. What a time to be alive. So, in light of things, how about a few French icons? A trio of Citroëns, a pair of Renaults, and an Aerospatiale. Let's get to it, and vive la France!

Citroën DS

It's not my most oft-repeated entry here, but it's something that I would be ecstatic to see in GTA. The DS is a landmark in automotive engineering, midcentury style, and French car culture. Can't say if it's objectively beautiful, but I love it.

Alpine A310

OK, it's an "Alpine", not a "Renault", but that's just being picky. Looking like something out of a sci-fi, the A310 joins dozens of 1970s cars with out-of-time styling, and it looks pretty good to this day.

Citroën H Van

With its corrugated panels and stout nose, the H Van is a forerunner of the modern panel van. You'll see them all over Europe, serving in various roles, and often carrying some mark of its French identity with it.

Renault 4

A tiny economy car from the 1960s that lived an incredibly long life. While it's not the most internationally recognizable French car, you'll still see them aplenty, and they are kinda cute.

Citroën 2CV

Deux chevaux! A famous little French heap, looking like some long-lost cousin to the Volkswagen Beetle, it's hard to watch any French film from the last sixty years without one of these making an appearance.

Aerospatiale Concorde

With a little help from the British, the French brought us the first - and still only - supersonic airliner. Even if these aren't flying anymore, they're still something to behold, and an awesome piece of aeronautical history.

I see things like that quite regularly, my son had an Aventador driving around by his house earlier, but the other day I saw a 68 Buick Skylark 2 door.. 😀 now things like that are very very rare where I live.

We don't really ever see supercars around here, but do see classics/muscle cars all the time. Interesting.

I have seen quite a few 308's in my life. Honestly I think they are a bit ugly. Cool car and I'd love to drive one, but seems kinda meh to me. Not really into Ferrari's of the 70s and 80s. I'd personally much rather have an Enzo or 458.

I prefer the testarossa over the 308 to be honest. But the best looking mid engine ferrari for me is the enzo, followed by close by the F40.

Yeah man I honestly don't think they are very pretty cars at all. Especially that second one with those goofy lights and mirror.

I'd say these are much more attractive Ferrari's.

Honestly.. it's all a matter of opinion.. but having seen a 308 amongst a  288GTO, 275GTB, F40, 512BB, 246 Dino, Testarossa, 356GTB Daytona, 330GTC, F355, 550 Barchetta andF430 Spider, I would have to say the 308 ranks pretty low on that list.

I do agree somewhat.. it is a classic Ferrari shape much confused with the 288. The 288 being such a vastly different machine, and the basis of the F40.

I prefer to see the evolution of the F40 from the 288 when I look at it ( all the basic shape is there) rather than see the blatantly obvious 308 silhouette that the 288 borrows.

But yeah, given time around those cars you can imagine... Not much time was spent looking at the 308.

Was the first ferrari i ever see and for me was the fastest , coolest and incredible car i ever see , then i discover the 288GtO  was the one i was looking for XD

Oh Mach.. you broke a lil piece of me then.

My beloved 288 GTO..

The lights although may look awkward at first are there because of the group B aspirations.. it was homologated as a race car. "Omologato" (the "O" in GTO)

Many of its features are the way they are because of this, the wider track and bodywork creating the gorgeous proportions that the 308 would die for.  I know each to their own, but it's a beautifully designed and detailed car, and is a monumental part of Ferraris history for more than just magnum p.i ( I'll try and stop digging at the 308)

Not suggesting you didn't know what I'm saying, but I know you seem to like not much except muscle cars so just thought I'd try and spread my 288 obsession.

And you know I loooove muscle cars and other US cars, I grew up around many, so I'm not just a euro car freak😉

Oh yes I know about the car and why it has the features, and don't get me wrong, it is a very cool machine. I would love to drive one or ride in one someday. I just meant that I don't think its very attractive looking when compared to other Ferrari models is all. I'm not too keen on 80's design in general, across all manufacturers.

Yeah I know what you're saying, it's more function over form being a race car. And the 80's was definitely not the decade of beauty.

Yes there are many more conventionally beautiful Ferraris.

The current ferraris have one of the most conservative designs in the supercar market. I am glad they still keep it oldschool.

The only cars that for me looks like spaceships are the apollo IE and the Valkirie (excluding one offs). The rest is fine i would say.

Imo the 458 looks exceptional with a Liberty Walk body kit. The stock one is decent, but not compared to an F40.

I know everything here is a matter of oppinion, but i really think LB kits are ridiculous and just make the cars look dumb with that camber and very deep wheels that are suffering way more structural stress than the stock ones.

I really hope in the next 5 years LB will be seen the same way we see the early 2000s ricers today.

The folks over in the DLC Speculation thread are going mad, it looks like. This information drought is hard on all of us, but they seem to be the most effected. I just hope none of them ever find out about this little hideaway we've got here in the Vehicles subforum, because if that thread is anything to go by, it could get messy. But yes! Vehicles! Four cars and a motorcycle for this entry into the wishlist. A Lexus, a Volkswagen, a Triumph, a Pontiac, and a Lancia. Let's get to it.

First-generation Lexus SC

A sporty grand tourer from America's favorite Japanese luxury brand. It's not my cup of tea, but I'm still a proponent of more late 80s and 90s cars making their way into GTA. Somebody must like it.

Volkswagen Type 3 Notchback

You may have heard of the Type 1, the Type 2, and maybe even the Type 14 and Type 181, but the Type 3 is just a bit more obscure. Of the ones you will see, the fastback is most common, but the sedan-profiled notchback gets the spotlight today.

Triumph Model H

Here's a motorcycle over a century old. These almost-bicycles served in the first World War, and despite not being much to look at, certainly deserve some respect. Would be a prime choice for the first real vintage motorcycle in GTA Online!

1970 Pontiac Catalina

The year Pontiac lost their minds, as far as I'm concerned. Look at that nose. Wow. Still, a nice, big classic to add to the muscle collection. Or maybe the luxury one. Sedans? Weird!

Lancia Gamma

Lancia has fallen a long way from a rather diverse background. The times are hard all around, I suppose, even in the Mediterranean. Here's the Gamma, from when times were a bit better, and an Italian luxury car looked like a boot jack.

Well, I have been gone for... *checks watch* a while. Did some posts on some old guns over on the DLC Wishlist thread, and figured I'd take a breather from that to come back here! This isn't gonna be my normal post, however. Instead of going into detail on three to four cars, I'll be touching on a platform. So let's just get into it!

1961/62 GM B-Body Bubbletops

Well, that's a mouthful and a half. But that's what I'm covering! This means we're gonna be touching on about seven different cars, and because of that I'm not gonna go into be usual amount of history and detail, I'm afraid. Instead, let's just talk about the platform itself! GM b-bodys, the classic family car. Relatively cheap, relatively reliable, full size cars. Everyone's known a B-Body at some point, maybe it was the mid 90's Caprice Wagon you grew up spilling capri suns in. Or it was the 80's Buick Roadmaster you got as a hand-me-down from your Grandfather after the state said he couldn't drive anymore. Or the 64 Impala you watched hop down your block, or your buddy's used 83 Parisienne that broke down on the side of the highway. You get the picture. It's an idea that started in the 20's and just missed the boat to the next century, passing on from a long life in 1996. 70 years worth of cars, and I'm focusing on a very specific body style, the so called "bubblebacks" as the marketing called them, but most know it as the bubbletop. These were the sporty two door coupes offered (and this is where I might offend some GM fanatics) in 1961, and on the Bel Air in 1962. Some have tried to claim the 59/60 coupes as bubbletops, but there's a definite difference in the slope of the back glass, as the body recieved a full redesign in '61 anyways, so I'm sticking with that year. The name really comes from 1962, though. The Bel Air was the only car to carry it over into 62, and they dominated the racetracks for it. See, the rest of the lineup switched to a "Creaseback" design, which ends up looking like a closed convertible top. But the bubble actually had better aerodynamics over that design, and would end up running much better than its contemporaries. So what were the bubbletops? I've had an honestly hard time finding that answer. A lot of the enthusiasts will claim that the only true bubbletops are the 62 Bel Airs, even if they'll admit it's the same roofline as many of the 61 cars. Others will call every hardtop a bubbletop, as they're now collectors cars and thus fetch higher prices. I think I've narrowed it down to a these few, though.

So, let's make a single car out of them! This is going to be all personal bias, of course, maybe your dream configuration will be different. But for me, I'm first borrowing those slim bumpers off the Chevrolets, as something about the painted metal continuing below the chromed bumpers is just so classic to me. However, I'd like to make the full chrome bumpers of the others customization options. Specifically the smooth, heavy lines of the Pontiacs and the Dagmar bullets off the Buicks. As I want to personally make it into an Imponte by the end of this, we're taking the split grill and hooded headlights off the Pontiacs, with the three point taillights off the Bonneville models in particular. We're not keeping that plunging grille, however. Though it is admittedly very cool, we're going to go for a more conventional grill filling up the entire space between the headlights and the split, lending to a more y-body Tempest style look. Let's also cover the slip between the taillights with an Oldsmobile style white trim piece from standard, that could be removed and filled through customization options. The side profile and trim is where I've had the most difficulties deciding, but I think I've fully realized it in my mind. We're keeping the vestigial fins off the Pontiac models, but we're flattening out the sides. This may give it a more late 60's, slab side style but I don't view that as a negative at all. Powerwise, some of you may be expecting to see the famed Chevy 409, and I was tempted. But rather, we're going with a rarer still, racer loved, Pontiac 421 styled V8 under our hood. A "super duty" dealer installed option new for 1961, this massive motor is a street legal drag engine, by which I mean this is a car you can't drive. It's frankly too powerful for a street car, which makes it perfect for Los Santos. Pontiac claimed it made somewhere in the neighborhood of 405hp, but a 1962 Motor Trend test actually rated it at 465 hersepwers at the crank and a whopping 505 lbs-ft of tire tearing torque. This mighty behemoth of a motor needs not only a new unique model, but a unique sound as well, as the 421's rumble and roar has been compared to “being on the inside of a ship’s hull while on the outside riveters pound ceaselessly away.” If that doesn't get you more excited than some "real fine" motor a bunch of California Dandys sang about, then I don't know how to help you.

In terms of personalization through customization, I want to give this two different versions, a stock and a Benny's. I know I'm one of the last people still championing for his name, but I want to make a lowrider version and he is best for that. Unlike the previous Benny's cars, I do want to give the base model good customization too, just in a different style. In its base form, I picture it as being able to be made into a chrome laden vintage car-hop cruiser, a NASCAR ready stock car or a quarter mile king. From taped, plated, and even removed headlights to vintage style roll cages that can optionally remove much of the interior appointments should be made available. Drag Racers can fit scooped hoods and long, fin covering spoilers for those 12 second runs. And for cruisers, you're getting the full appointment of antennas, chromed trimming, vintage style bench seats, and even engine modifications you'd expect to find at Benny's from standard. Custom made liveries to represent Dan Gurney's simple #37 Impala, a Dachshund sponsored parody of David Pearson's #3 Kennel Car Pontiac, and other racing styles would help complete that look for those that want it. and of course we can't forget rusted, barn find styled liveries for both stock and stock car looks. In fact, the liveries and addition of hydraulics are what I'd want to differentiate the two variants. The custom version would have some extra trunk modifications for speakers, as well as some unique fender skirts and gold trim pieces, but the main difference would be body covering pinstripes and murals instead of stock car liveries. I think this would be the best way to appease the Benny naysayers, as well as give players full reign on the specific build they want to pursue!

I know this was really different from my standard posts, but I got really into this body shape recently and that motor was exciting enough for me to build an in game car around it, so I hope at least some of you have found enjoyment in this!

On review, length was definitely too long. I think just hiding the images oughta help!
