To the day, it's been a month since the last page began, and now we're finally here. The elusive page 271. And, as @IceDree said above, it's time for something different. Today's post of mine is going to be an 80s flashback, to the normal and once-mundane, though they aren't without their quirks. I still try to keep it interesting! So, it's a Honda, a Nissan, an Oldsmobile, and an Austin. Let's get to it.

Third Generation Honda Civic Hatchback

Anybody remember these little things? Like riding in a ZipZap. Though a bit squared off, I've always seen some serious Pacer influences in early Civic models, and it continued here. Also gave us the CR-X, so I guess that's good!

Nissan EXA

It's the later one, of course. While I think the squished, unfortunate earlier EXA is cute because of its odd appearance, I have to go with the later EXA simply for that interesting modular "Sportbak" canopy. Is it a shooting brake or a coupe?

Tenth Generation Oldsmobile 98

The largest car in this entry is obviously the American one. While a bit of a carry-over from the 70s, like all of these General Motors big cars, they did build this bodystyle until 1984, full of Oldsmobile identity. Only a memory, now.

Austin Ambassador

Finishing up today's post is a... large family car from England? Huh. I mean, the "England" part I can buy, but... "large family car?" I don't know. The Ambassador was a child of British Leyland, so it didn't last very long, but it had character, I think.

There's also next to none of these cars left. Wikipedia says that, out of about 43,000 built, only 23 are still registered. Wow.

What is this, where am I? Is... Is this a new page?! My god, I've been gone for over a month! There's snow on the ground outside, and I've got a list of cars that I wanna see in game! I'm gonna split it up, though. I'll start with some vintage service vehicles here, and either in a week or on a new page (Whichever comes first) I'll round out with some vintage civilian cars. Now then, hold up your badge so they'll know you're a policeman and make sure that .38's loaded, we've got some policing to do.

1956 Ford Mainline P-Code

8iOk6gh.jpg

As sure as the cold rain will wash away blood from dark asphalt, this is the car that rolls up to view the scene. A red light whipping around inside of it's tube and it's siren wailing a warbling cry through the night air. New for '56, these black and white 4 doors were powered by the Interceptor Y-8 motor, a 312 cid V-8 with hefty skirting making it look like a Y instead of a V, hence the name. The 312 Y-8 was given a P in it's VIN to designate it as the police motor, though any old savvy Joe could order it from their dealer. And if they did, they got that 312 with a 4 barrel carburetor all making around 215 hp and 315 lb.-ft torque, a decent sum even for today. in 1956 Ford stated that over 70% of the police cars on american roads were Fords, and it wouldn't surprise me. CHPs may have had their own cars (Don't worry, their's is on the list) but many heartland states used '55 and '56 fords for everything from Metro cruisers to HP chasers. In my eyes, this is up there with the Dodge Polara and Ford's own later model Crown Vic as one of the most classic and identifiable police cars of all time. In game, this needs to have police lights, sirens and liveries options while also being able to keep it as a civilian car. I think it would be interesting to do a sort of worn police livery as well, similar to the "No Master" riot helmet we can purchase. But, more than anything, a vintage 4 door is needed in the game. While we did recently get the Stafford as one of the few redeeming vehicles in After Hours, that's based on an ultra luxury Rolls Royce, so if you're going for that mid 50's detective look the best thing you've got is an old 2 door Tornado with it's anachronistic interior. So even if we can't make it into a police vehicle, having a 4 door 55/56 Ford in game would just be nice.

1955 Buick Model 68

gH5kSYG.jpg

This is probably the coolest car on the list, in a lot of ways. Special order by the California Highway Patrol, these are an interesting mix of the base model Special and the performance model Century. They had the two door sedan body from the Special mated to the 322 cid V8 and trim from the Century, giving it somewhere in the neighborhood of 236 hp. These had been stacked up against offerings from five other groups, with the Buick winning due to it's low price, better acceleration and (for the time) inpressive top speed of 108 mph. Funny enough, though, that wasn't all the motor could give, as they had to terminate the test due to the tread from the tires blowing off at that speed! They only made 270 of these, half of them being manuals and the other half being automatics, and now only 2 true ones are known to survive, making this the second rarest car on the list. Much like the Ford, I'd like to see this with the ability to modify it with that big red "gumball" light and siren set up, with a classic police livery. However, part of what I really think needs to be the main  livery of the car is the call sign "21-50" emblazoned on the hood and trunk of a skunk style, as it was the call sign of Broderick Crawford's character in the vintage police show "Highway Patrol" where he drove a Spec-tury as an officer within the California Highway Patrol. Again, a worn, think almost Mad Max style police livery would also be really neat, along side vintage hot rod style flames and scallops. But just having a high speed vintage two door chase car would be a fun addition to the game, especially with the options to set it up with the lights and wailer.

1953 REO 221B Rescue Recovery

Wn7uml4.jpg

It's 1955, you're sitting at home in a quite suburban neighborhood. Outside people are laughing, a soft jazz record plays backing the friendly tone of the news on TV. But then, the peace becomes shattered by the piercing wail of the sirens, the laughter turns to worried chatter and you pray it's just a test, you pray you don't hear Cronkite start to cry. Run outside, and you're likely to see this truck in bright blue and white screaming down the road as this is Calamity Jane. Civil defense ordered 1300 of these beasts, along side similar numbers from GMC and International as well. Some were painted in brilliant red and used by rural fire departments, others took on the drab colors for military service with the still young Air Force, yet the most popular and remembered are the ones that stayed with the CD displaying those flat white sides with a pure blue roof, and the classic triangular insignia. These were rescue trucks, made to go anywhere and carry the gear. Stretchers, multiple first aid kits, water supplies, and of course Geiger counters. You name it and it was on or in these trucks somewhere. In game I envision this as a sort of vintage insurgent. Heavily armored but not well armed. Quick, but primarily powerful. Being able to swat cars out of the way while also being able to take a few explosions. A true survivors vehicle to sit alongside the half track, this would need the liveries like the others have, with classic CD blue and white and a worn, tagged apocalypse version as well. And the sirens should be loud, more similar to the fire department's than the police's.

1950-52 Checker Model A4/A5

Nb91VDN.jpg

Here it is, the rarest car on the list. Also the only non emergency service vehicle on todays list, though later A11 Checkers did serve their time with Johnny Law. Only about 26 pre-1960 Checkers are known to exist at all, and there is believed to be only one running Checker Model A4 in the world. This was a legitimate New York taxi, but much like CJ and our beloved series itself, after 5 years on the East Coast it was time to come home. In 1955 this worn out sweetheart was bought up by MGM where they swapped in a Hudson transmission and a steering wheel from a jeep, as they believed the original was too ornate for a taxi, and she'd make her first film debut in the 1956 film "A Catered Affair" where Ernest Borgnine's character had been saving up money to purchase it alongside a taxi medallion to become self employed. She'd appear alongside Gregory Peck and Lauren Bacall a year later in "Designing Women" and in the background of a few other movies made in SoCal until the early 90's when she was purchased by a collector. It would take another collector purchasing her and a few years with parts from some Finnish model A2's that had been sent there during the Helsinki Olympics. And I can personally say, quite happily, that this does in fact run and drive as I've had the pleasure of seeing it in person! The owner, a man named Joe Fay, drove this to Auburn, Indiana for a Checker Cab club convention a few years back. At the time, I was just going for the Cord/Dusenburg museum in town and happened upon the Club. It really was a joy seeing all that old steel being cared for since many of these old taxi's were simply cannibalized for parts when their time was up. In game, this needs to have Taxi modifications, though I think having a civilian version like the A5 is also necessary. Perhaps selling a civilian style "Luxury" car with the modification options to transform it into a taxi through livery mods and roof options is the way to go. And, of course, I would prefer the later more famous A8-12 models to this if R* forced me to choose. But having both would be the best option, obviously.

Do you all know what today is? That's right! It's Friday! What's that mean? Nothing really, but I'm posting another entry into the wishlist today, so that's something! With the slowdown of interest in GTA Online in the wake of RDO and my own personal shifts in schedule, I'm changing my routine for additions to the wishlist. There will always be one as soon as a new page comes up, but I'm going to be making smaller posts overall, and will compensate by making multiple posts per page. I'm not going to spam the place up, don't worry, but don't be surprised if you see my ridiculous username popping up here more often. So! Today's vehicles! A Bristol, an Oldsmobile, a Jaguar, and a Grumman. Let's get to it!

Bristol 405

Here's a rare sports sedan from Great Britain with some serious aeronautical influences in its design. Good reason, too - Bristol was, at the time, still an aircraft company by trade. Definitely striking in the automotive market of the mid 50s, huh?

Spoiler

Second Generation Oldsmobile Series 60

Though I think the related Pontiac models were more luxurious, simply for their ornamentation, the Oldsmobile offering wins with its big mustache grille. The fastback models are my personal favorites, but I like the character of all.

Jaguar Mark V Drophead Coupe

We need some vintage convertibles! I know we've got the Tornado, but come on! There's no real vintage drop-tops! And you all know I like luxury, so why not have it in a Jaguar? And a very pretty Jaguar at that... Look at those curves!

Grumman TBF Avenger

Do you know what today is? It's December 7th! On this day, 77 years ago, Grumman revealed their now-famous carrier-based torpedo bomber to the public, having been developed in anticipation for the American entry into the then-developing World War II. Coincidentally, on the same day, the Imperial Japanese Navy steamed headlong into the Hawaiian archipelago and launched an attack on Pearl Harbor that has gone down in infamy. Seems somewhat romantic, that coincidence, huh?

Well, several of my personal all-time favorite vehicles are already in the game:

Dodge Viper (Banshee)

50's style Dodge Power Wagon (Duneloader)

Delorean from Back to the Future (Deluxo, although that's only halfway there, it needs a time machine livery).

I'd still really like to see:

First gen Mustang, hopefully both convertible and fastback.

AMC Gremlin. I know everybody loves to bag on it, but it was one of the first cars I drove and it was a real tank of a car. The v8 model with 4 speed manual transmission was a contender in some race classes. Although I (my parents) had the slant six with three on the tree.

What's this? All those police cars and no Bluesmobile?

On a semi-related topic, how can I edit my previous posts?

Rockett's intention is something of a 50s greaser/outlaw theme, so his picks lean that way.

:(... seeing all those cars makes me yearn for another hipsters.

And YES, I'm still stuck on INAH Pt2. It was the content management that killed the game for me. I would gladly shell out 15 bucks for a themed content pack, a la saints row or something.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.... Let's keep things legit by adding afew cars?

All they have to do, is to remove all that silly "Ellie" stuff from something that should be called Dominator Classic.

Rockstar and the general playerbase loves supercars. So do I, ain't going to lie here ;) While there's many amazing modern machines they could still add, I'd much rather see this one coming up to Legendary Motorsport in this next update:

The Dauer 962LM

1994_Dauer_962LeMans3.jpg

1994-dauer-962-le-mans-porsche-5.jpg

A road car based on the legendary Porsche 956/962, or rather just a road car converted straight from a actual race car, and not just any race car mind you, but one which is undoubtedly one of the greatest and quite likely the most successful race car ever made. It might not be the prettiest or even the fastest thing on the road today, but it carries a prestige that modern supercars can only dream of and it can do way more than just keep up with most supercars even to this day!

It's one of the many gems that were born from sports car racing in the 90's and one I would be very proud to put beside my GP1 :D

I really wish they would add either a toggle option in the quick menu or a make it a stand alone option to purchase for the flame spitting exhaust pipes.  5 years on and it still annoys me that any sort of exhaust upgrade on any sort of car and it shoots flames.  It really should have been reserved for only high super cars, and maybe some hotrods, or something.

Hmm ... Can the Soviet build a good-looking car ? I-I mean yes, it was a rethorical question of course ! Don't point it at me like that !

It couldn't originate from Germany because the plans were never stolen by the red army, right ?

F*ck this made-up description. I just realized about the new update and had almost an heart attack after playing it. I just can't focus anymore on making this post, sorry about it. The rest of my suggestions were already done for a month anyway.

1948-1960 Peugeot 203

Not my personnal favourite, but still. The 203 embraced American influence to its core. Only model sold by Peugeot between 1948 and 1954, it was the first successful model since the 202. Available as coupe, saloon, break or pick-up variant, the 203 was known to be a versatile and reliable car. Curiously, it was also produced for the Australian market.

1964-1967  Hino Contessa 1300

I've been keeping an eye on this brand for a long time now. Going from half-track and tanks in WWII to trucks and cars in the following years, Hino Motors most interesting car to me will remain the Contessa 1300. A Japanese Corvair designed by Michelotti, sharing the mechanics of a Hino-Renault 4CV. I mean, if the tank part hasn't scared you yet, the mechanical one should do the job, right ? Noneless, it's a good-looking car.

Contessa the most interesting Hino car?  Have you seen the Samurai?

BrockSamuraismall.jpg

It was designed by Pete Brock, the man responsible for the Shelby Daytona Coupe.  The Hino Samurai was the final evolution of Brock's kammtail racing coupes.  While I'd prefer the Daytona, I'd still be happy if R* added a Samurai.  There aren't enough kammtails in this game.

To continue the Arena War theme:

BF Apocalypse Injection - mix of Fury Road buzzard buggies and the firecars. Optional flamethrower operated by exposed front passenger, and with mod options to allow you to finally have a clean customisable Injection

Albany Apocalypse Lurcher - Fury Road Gigahorse. Give it the ramming power of the Vigilante and straightline speed of a supercar, and the brakes and turning of a lorry.

Vapid Apocalypse Hustler - Fury Road Nux’s 34 Chev hotrod buggy

The G-Wagon was redesigned for the first time in 15 years and is all-new for 2019. Time for a Dubsta3, perhaps?
