Well Rockstar, it would be nice (after four years) to drive around in your car with towbar (make the towbar a option at Los Santos customs) hauling your classic, super or whatever car on a trailer in freeroam.

 

Yes i know, weaponized vehicles for the kids are cashflow...

But there are also people over thirty (like me) who dont like all the biem bam boom (like me) you know, please dont forget us.

I would also LOVE if they would add a Ford Raptor (i'm sure people have said it before but yeah.) We already have F-650 & 250 & the Ford Bronco concept so why not a Raptor variant?

It would be nice to have the option to test drive cars, even for just 5 minutes. That way, we could see if we like them or not. Plus, a dedicated car dealership where we could see the car in front of us would be nice (or maybe a 360 view on the websites in-game).

I'm very glad about the GT500 and 190z, two cars I love in real life.

 

But why, why, WHY isn't a f*cking classic looking Porsche 911 released yet?

What if R* hasn't added a Comet Classic because it looks too much like a Porsche 930, aka, for copyright reasons?

 

I mean, look at the Comet Safari.

 

Maybe Porsche is too stingy about lookalikes in games? I mean, the 811 barely looks like a 918.

 

 

I haven't thought about it actually but it makes sense. Although it's strange how Porsche wouldn't care about the Retro Comet, which is literally a 930 with wider body, if that's the case?

 

The Progen GP1 is pretty much identical to McLaren F1 but still it isn't a complete replica. I think R* could manage to create a Comet Classic without copying it completely.

Right but Porsche is historically pretty picky when it comes to video games. That is why it is such a big deal when racing games announce they will have Porsche or a Porsche DLC.

 

I was gonna make the same comment about it earlier, I think they are avoiding it for the sole reason of avoiding legal trouble. Many of the cars we just recieved were very, very close to their real world counterparts and I think they want to continue making vehicles that way, they just can't do it with the classic Porsche design. They can't change it enough and still make it look like what it is supposed to be.

 

Throwing a widebody kit on it or an off road suspension changes it enough to avoid any problems.

 

Then again, the Comet RS is sitting in the files right now, and that thing looks 100% Porsche. So maybe they are just holding a stock classic version back. Idk.

That's something I've wondered about Nissan compared to Aston Martin - a lot of Nissan-based things are surprisingly accurate, although not all of them are Annis in-game (Stratum, Warrener, 190z).

Meanwhile, aside from the JB 700 (which is older), and the slightly 'genericised' front of the Massacro, the rest of the Dewbauchee lineup looks like R* took the front off a completely different car, and bolted it on - Seven-70, Specter, Rapid GT, etc.

 

As for Porsche and the Comet, the RS does look a lot like certain performance variants of the Cayman - and the basic shape of the Comet Retro/Safari is close without being 100% identical. If anything, a 'Comet Classic' would look a lot like the 3D-era Comet (which I suspect was always the whole point with the design of the Retro!):

 

 

 

It was fine then, the Retro/Safari are close enough and apparently fine now - and after all, 'similar is not the same', so I'd personally say R* could get away with it, in theory. But it's all a bit moot unless we know the specifics of how each company handles pastiche designs - or if there aren't specific guidelines, and it's just R* and/or their legal bods having to make judgment calls as to what they can get away with when/where.

 

 

I'm glad that my tinfoil theory of why R* haven't added a Comet Classic to the game was basically disproven with the release of the Pfister Neon.

 

I mean, it's basically a mashup of a Mission E, a 918 and a Panamera.

 

So yeah, a Comet Classic could be nice

^Definitely some interesting choices, but the Rover really? possibly the worst built car in history I suppose it had a V8 as a saving grace but look at the picture you posted and the panel gaps even the bumper is crooked.

But the other cars are interesting and the M1 really would be nice to have in game.

But the Rover did remind me of this Top Gear challenge.

The way that the gauntlet's front grille is shaped is also reminiscent of the 2010-15 Camaro but it'd definitely be good to get an all-new Declasse Vigero SS or whatever as a true Camaro.

I personally want to see all three of them, and think it would be a logical decision by R*. The new Mustang is a different design.. the Dominator just isn't the same. The Gauntlet doesn't do a Challenger justice either, it's too small and the design is just off.
