Bring bang a good ol' rust livery

A few classic racing liveries would be nice, something akin to the Hudson Hornet

^ See, those are why we need another approach to muscle-ish stuff at Benny's - and IMO, kinda needed it already with the Sabre Turbo and Slamvan Customs.

Wouldn't take much, either - get rid of the hydraulics, and add more body mods. And in the case of things like the Hermes, make the 'Hermes Custom' a lead sled.

Again, I still, still think that a 'tuners vs. muscle' update, with a revised approach on how to Benny-fy them, would be The Best GTAO Update Yet™. Proper aero kits and more realistic decals (plus some more thorough interior options) for the imports, and for the muscle/American classics, anything from retro racer decals and hot-rod-ish stuff, to beater-look things (think along the lines of the rusted options for the Youga Classic) and the full Chip Foose treatment. :)

Yeah, I agree. I do think they were trying to lean that way with the Slamvan though, I mean it definitely has more of a hot rod feel than the other "lowriders", to be honest, I think the only reason it can be called a lowrider at all is because of the hydraulics and pumps in the back. All of the mods for it are some kind of classic/rat/rod/kustom type of thing. The fatty rear tires as well.

Sabre Turbo, even though I do love the stance of it with big wheels, was a huge missed opportunity. A few sh*t liveries and that was it. Man, this is just making me remember the disappointments of the Tornado and Voodoo as well.

Yep - and on top of that, wasting Benny's mods on the Moonbeam and Minivan, when things like the Emperor and Manana would have been much better candidates. :rol:

I can't help feeling that Lowriders: Custom Classics ended up trying to be too many things at once - something I'd also say about the Banshee 900R and (to a lesser extent) Sultan RS. Hence more rat rod stuff for the Slamvan Custom, but ...still with the mandatory lowrider conversion first. Or putting Initial D/Toyko Drift-style decals on the 900R, just because the Banshee's front end looks a bit like a facelifted/modified RX-7 (like the Veilside one Dom drives in F&F1) if you squint...

I'd like to think that Import/Export's rethinking of how to handle custom sports/supers is an indication that R* is getting better when it comes to tapping the potential of Benny's - would be great if we see even more variety (and with more appropriate/specific mods) in another update, perhaps even later this year. One can but hope! ;)

Any Dominator Classic from '67 to '70 is cool with me. Still holding out hope for a Gauntlet Classic like the Challenger from Vanishing Point and an updated Vigero like a '69 Camaro. If they do one last instalment of Lowriders where the Manana, Emperor and Peyote get what they deserve I'll be happy. The Banshee got added to Benny's quick, so what's taking so damn long with the Peyote and even the Cheetah?

Something I was thinking about recently - and it's funny that certain people (;)) keep complaining about things like the Import/Export supers as 'GTA turning into Need for Speed', because I actually think that if anything, stuff like the recent(-ish) NfS would be a perfect fit with GTAO. More than certain other things in the game, in fact.

For one thing, with R* still prioritising higher-end cars, there's never been any love shown to the kinds of affordable, endlessly-modifiable cars that so very often serve as 'baby's first custom car'. Considering the emphasis on car customisation in GTAO, and how the game literally starts with a street race, I'm increasingly convinced that R* missed a trick with that tutorial race - instead of just giving everyone a stock sedan, it'd have been a perfect place for a proper 'starter car', and give everyone a decent basic modding platform to begin with.

That's why I mention the 2015 game - the three starter cars are perfect examples of that kind of cheap-but-fun enthusiast's car: the Subaru BRZ, the 6th-gen Civic Type-R, and the Foxbody Mustang:

And I still think that those kinds of things (see also: S13 Nissan 240SX) would be great for GTAO, particularly if given a decent amount of custom options. Call the Civic the 'Dinka Flash' (as a nod to San Andreas), and blend a few 5th-gen elements into it, maybe tweak the GTA IV Uranus to make it a bit more Foxbody-ish, and ...yeah, I'm sticking by my daft idea of mixing all the various bits of BRZ, FR-S and 86 into the one car, and calling it the 'Karin Snipe'... :pp

Well the Uranus was primarily an Escort, with a little bit of Mustang and Sierra thrown in.

I'd say it was primarily fox body Mustang with a Sierra front end on it, but that is just my interpretation. The doors, roof line, and truck are 100% mustang for sure.

Either way it would be awesome, and sell more, if they brought it back RWD, V8 powered, and in the Muscle class. I'm not gonna like I don't see any Escort in there.

Point is a Fox Mustang would be cool even if they call it something different lol.

That's why I had the idea of 'take the Uranus, but tweak the design to be more Foxbody', as I mentioned in that previous post. Bit like what R* did with the Contender, or (for a more subtle example) the Zombie.

Or yeah, just do something separate for the Foxbody - although in that case, the big (prevailing) question would be (as always): 'what would be the best thing to combine with it to create a new GTA car?'.

Do like they did with the Elegy Retro. Just combine similar models together. This time from the Fox family.

Little bit of Mustang, little bit of Capri, maybe some Thunderbird.

That'd work - I'm looking at 'em, and thinking mainly 1987 redesign Foxbody, with some SVO cues thrown in, and maybe the rear of the 'bubbleback' Capri.

(that's assuming R* gave such a car to the same people who came up with the Elegy Retro - odds are they'd hand it to the FMJ folks, and we'd wind up with a Foxbody/Thunderbird Turbo Coupe mix, with the front end taken from a Renault 5... :sui:)

The little strakes on the side windows and rear roofline are Mustang-esque, but everything else seems Mk3 Escort. Side profile, front windscreen, rear lights, driveline. The fact it came with mesh wheels, rallye lights, and a whale tail spoiler (and a burberry cap in the back) seemed to drive the point home it was supposed to be a Chav's Escort.

I thought all that stuff came from the Cosworth.

ford-sierra-cosworth-1.jpg

All I know is when I look at it, I see a Foxbody as I am sure a lot of American players do, but I am sure it would seem obvious to people more familiar with the Escorts and Sierras overseas what the inspirations are. You gotta admit they look a lot alike from the b and c pillars. Even the body trim and front signals match up pretty good. The FWD layout definitely was a nod to the Escort and the mods from Sierras I think.

R* should create another version of the Emperor.

Either the Fleetwood brougham from 1986 or the one from 1996.

Because I'm simply not that big of a fan of the emperor R* made.

Just look at those crappy rims.

This sh*t :dozing:

Make them customizable at Benny's along with this one

I think GTA V misses cars like this. A Declasse Savanna/Chumash would fit perfectly in the game.

I was Thinking something More Like THIS:

1971 Declasse Savanna

Incorrect.

How about we leave poor Uranus alone without ANY changes? It was perfect, just add I4 engine sound and IV modifications and I'm happy.

And I'm OK with really small changes like with Zombie, Tapa or Habanero, but Contender is terrible example.

R* took it, raped it, mutilated it, put the Contender logo on it and released...

It doesn't even look like f*cking Ford FFS, but Tundra!

Alongside of more IV cars R* should bring back old all models of other vehicles that shared Contender's fate aswell (Feltzer, Diablous, Huntley, Comet to some extend, Wolfsbane, Bobcat XL, Rancher XL and even tho I like those three: Buccaneer, Brickade and Nightshade)

Going back to your NFS post, you're missing one car - S14...

And here is the best part... WE ALREADY HAD S14 IN IV - CHAVOS!

chavos.png

JUST LOOK AT IT! S14 KOUKI, ACCORD, 406 AND THE REAR FROM EVO VII IN ONE CAR! WTF IT IS NOT IN THE GAME ALREADY?

WTF IT IS NOT IN THE BENNY'S?
