It was the 70s. The middle of a fuel crisis. People queued around the block to get rations of petrol. A big heavy car with an inefficient V8 was absolutely moronic. The American manufacturers got a massive wakeup call when Americans en masse flocked to Japanese models that offered better efficiency and better reliability at a lower price, without losing build quality or interior appointments. GM/Chrysler/Ford simply couldn't respond and started badge-engineering various Japanese models just to have something in the showrooms people wanted to buy.

 

Sure, they could've kept making the big V8 Nova, and other V8 cars and not bothered with economy models. But they would've gone bankrupt in less than 5 years.

The bottom line here is a cheetah classic more likley going to be a testarosa(vc cheetah) since that falls under most requested gta classic cars. not a 70s prototype.

The only reasoning it for it being a 312P is that the Group 6 car is a mid engined V12 Ferrari like the Enzo and the Testarossa. (It and the BB were 180°V engines, not true boxer engines) And one could make the argument that in-universe Grotti originally used the 'Cheetah' name for the racing car, and then applied it to the road car in tribute.

I really hope they add more trucks. I'm jonesing for some trucks. Only trucks we've gotten are the Desert Raid, Trophy Truck, Contender, Guardian, Slamvan and Rat Truck (pretty sure I forgot some). I'm hoping for a 70's F-100 or C10, the return of the two door Rancher, a 90's Bronco, a Bobcat like the one from San Andreas, and maybe even a Dodge Lil' Red Express. I'd also love to see a 90's Mesa (Wrangler) and even a Grand Cherokee from the 90's and an updated Granger or Cavalcade and the H1 Alpha (Patriot from 3D era). The list of things I'd love to see added is just endless. I could sit here and rattle off vehicles and still think of something else.

Info : remember horror movies from 1980's? right now vapid build 1 of 5 examples for 5 customers and this truck equipped by killing machine software so if you far away from the truck and you feel uncomfortable around the hood this truck will follow you everywhere and protect you. and of course you can drive it but be cautious sometimes this truck appear to be malfunction and can kill you anytime. so you have to control the truck through the software. but you have to buy the software from the famous hacker in LS. we can't tell you who it is but we can install the software for you and it's additional cost. always keep your heads up !
