I've been away from GTA for a week or so (aside from testing out the RC Bandito and getting some screenshots, obviously), but I'm a bit more in order than I was on the last page. So, without further ado, it's time for another entry into the never-ending wishlist of strange and obscure cars! Page 277, huh? That's a good number. Not sure if this is a good selection, it's pretty weird, but there might be something interesting. I've got a Checker, a Renault, a Buick, a Saab, and a BMW. Let's get to it!

Checker Marathon

With plenty of taxi and apocalypse (or "Arena") customization. The iconic American taxi cab, also sold as a civilian vehicle, and appearing in mass media in various states more times than can be counted. Being practical is never out of style.

Renault Fuego

With the hand of the man who designed the Citroën SM gracing it, the Fuego was destined for some popularity. Sporty and stylish with some global production, it's a bit niche, but hey, we have a VAZ in the Sports Classic class. Anything is possible.

1991 Buick Roadmaster

Here's an oddly common sight on American roads. It's big, fat, and undefined, but I love the last-generation Roadmaster more than any of its siblings. Why? I don't know. I certainly like its predecessors more, but I do have some love for this roadwhale.

SAAB Sonett III

A Swedish sports car with Italian styling and powered by a German-American engine, the Sonett III was, obviously, the third Sonett model built by SAAB, and a victim of the 1973 oil embargo. A shame or not, you be the judge.

BMW 700

It's not an Amphicar, trust me. This BMW was descended from the Isetta, but unlike its lineage, succeeded in the economy market and brought BMW back into prosperity, and helped launch a long career of competitive cars. Thanks, 700.

More classic race cars: GT40 Mk4, Ferrari 330 P4, Porsche 917 KH. I'd love to know how well cars like the Swinger and Mamba sell, and how much more they would have to sell to warrant getting more cars of their kind. I guess it makes sense that cars like the Deveste Eight sell well enough to justify adding at least one concept super with each update. It's just sad to know we live in a world where that will always be more popular to the majority of GTAO players than cars like the Viseris, Mamba or Savestra.

I get that the class system in this game encourages players to buy sports and supers as they will earn them the most money during a double cash on stunt races week. I also know that the flags introduced with SSASSS negatively impact a players opinion of a car, especially if they don't even know what the deal is with the flags. I guess I should be happy that we've gotten as many older, rare/obscure cars as we have, but a guy can dream and pontificate, right?

Been a few days since I've requested a Shelby Daytona Coupe.  The one downside it had was that the aerodynamic bodwork couldn't fit a big-block.  Pete Brock solved that issue with the Super Coupe.  Unfortunately for him, only one prototype was built before Carroll Shelby decided to abandon the front-mid-engine Daytonas in favour of Ford's rear-mid-engine GT40 program.  While I don't think this car is anywhere near as pretty as the earlier cars, there's a bunch of interesting design details that could mix well.

There's actually a more than fair chance that the spring DLC will have more "area ready" cars. It will also probably unlock the area modes for the creator as well as add more R* created modes. Just speculatin' obviously, but it's a likely outcome.

1963-1965 Opel Rekord Caravan

Can't say it has any particular backstory, I just love the look of it and I would totally imagine myself driving one of these. Plus, it comes with an inline-six engine ! It's just a formidable product of its time.

Mid-page post time! In my earlier post on this page, I mentioned that 277 is a good number. Why? Well, it's awfully close to 2077, which is an important year in the retrofuture world of the Fallout franchise, which I love. Aside from that, I've been on a Cold War kick lately since the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty was suspended, because that's kinda regressive, and it just so happens today is the 69th anniversary of the beginning of McCarthyism. Oh boy. What's this all mean for this post? Well, get your canned water, your geiger counter, your breathing mask, and your fear of the Hammer & Sickle, because we're going back to the 1950s. Some weird and obscure vehicles that, unlike some of their contemporaries, haven't quite had the same kind of lasting fame, but still have a heaping of period character. I've got a Willys, a Messerschmitt, a Studebaker, a Nash, a DeSoto, and a Cessna. Let's get back in time.

Willys Aero

I've been trying to avoid repeats outside of my absolute favorites, but the Aero deserves some love. It's a relatively forgotten civilian model from everybody's favorite military manufacturer, but a good one all the same. I want a sedan to park by my Clique, Rockstar!

Messerschmitt KR200

A European entry on this list, yes! Also potentially the most recognizable. This quirky German production is closer to a motorscooter than a car, and it isn't the prettiest thing in the world, but the 50s were a time of innovation. Try something different!

Studebaker E-Series

Before the 1957 remodelling, I think. They got too aggressive that year. Which makes it all the stranger, to me anyway, that Dodge based their newer Ram models on this series of Studebakers. Still, it's a cute little truck, and it's so 50s with those colors!

1956 Nash Ambassador

The Ambassador was a car that changed year-by-year, and since it was a Nash, those changes were... always strange. It's no wonder they disappeared into the maw of AMC. But I can't hate these cars. They're weird and ugly, sure, but who isn't?

There are not enough images of this car on the Wikimedia Commons...

1957 DeSoto Firesweep

Now, I've talked about the Firesweep's American siblings quite a bit, but this Canada-only model does deserve some attention. Chrysler really liked tacking Dodge front-ends on other models when exporting them, huh? Do you think they were shy?

Cessna 195

Seeing as we lack a traditional, terrain-landing Dodo variant, I'm volunteering the similar-looking (but definitely distinct) Cessna 195. It's got 50s flair and plenty of sexual tension. Everything you want in an aircraft.

moving belts on cars without timing covers (exposed cam gears and timing belts, exterior belts, etc.) would be an amazing add on to the game, and would give it that extra touch of realism. just look at the elegy retro custom. the engine shakes a bit, which looks like it is running, but if you remove the timing cover, the cam gears and belts are stationary. if these moved when the timing cover isn't there, it would look much better. onto the second part: engine damage. the engines in the cars in gta sound good and most look pretty good. but crash the car enough and the engine scrunches up, but it will still run, so i believe that the engine should have more resistance to crumpling, and when it does, the area that isn't damaged will continue to run and function, but the damaged part will not function, also the engine sputtering is too spaced out for heavily damaged engines. Lastly, shifting. i feel for the tuner community, and other car enthusiasts, being able to manually shift cars, with or without clutch, would go a long way as most cars already have the design of a manual shift knob in the interior.

I used to be most interested in classic, understated, or realistic drives... but in the days of Oppressors and even more powerful, updated Oppressors, why not?

A Triumph Bonneville chassis was used for the basis and the body is inspired from the 1976 "édition Charleston". Don't ask me why a motorcycle, I'm as much confused as you are.

Deux Chevaux can be anything.  Did you hear about the guy that crashed his in the Moroccan desert and Mad Max'd himself a motorcycle?

This happened in 1993, and he still has it!  And it still runs!

We should do a petition on the cars that R* adds. We want more Ubermacht, Obey, Schyster, Emperor, BF, Invetero, Pfister, Willard and many other car brands that dont have many cars...I am tired of a lot of Vapids and Benefactors or Pegassi and Grotti. I think we have enough of those and there are many cars that can be added in those brands that have just a few cars like those:

The Sentinel XS from GTA IV based on the BMW e46:

This car is a must-add in the game. We got the Sentinel Classic based on the e30 and I think that they will add this too very soon. This car would have a lot of tuning parts if they add it.

The Vincent from GTA SA based on the BMW e34:

The PMP600 from GTA IV based on the Chrysler 300C SRT8:
