PS2 and Xbox map for PC

Recommended Posts

Do you have the regular txd.img by any chance? I drove around whole LC and I have zero texture issues and it looks exactly same (far as I can tell) as the old Xbox mod. Ironically the things you are missing are Xbox related as Vienna replaced the trees.

Also Hero is this some different texture conversion or the new lightmaps?

I don't think vegetation has lightmaps. It's just different textures. Do note that shoreside vale was touched up the least.

Also..."exactly the same as the old xbox mod"? I hoped it looked better because it's an exact conversion...

_CP_: cannot confirm, looks perfect to me. You must have installed wrong somehow.

To my untrained eye I can't notice difference (beside that one tree). Maybe Ash does, but not me haha :D

(not like I can have Xbox version to compare it to since there is no emulator)

How does the xbox mod deal with the light maps then? You can toggle them with F4 in game with my conversion.

Obviously that is different yeah. I meant the textures/models ;)

Also these are for restoring the gas station stuff just in case anyone is lazy :)

Strange. I haven't actually been able to fix the crash (mostly because I didn't even try yet). Very strange that such a simple mod causes so many problems. Have you tried loading a game or running with the freeroam scm or is this a new game?

Made a fresh install, just added XBox cars and map + ginput ans sharptrails, and no matters if it new game or load an old one in both cases game freezes after loading screen, but task manager doesnt say game is not working...

Update: With 1.1 version progress bars completes and afteir it disapears game freezes, with 1.0 progress bar freezes at 75%...

Yes, exactly the same issue

This isn't working on my game, either, I'm using the Steam version of III, it freezes when the loading screen is about to finish, and if I switch tabs I see this little message box linked to the game:

Please try with a 1.0 exe. That's the only version I will debug.

It shouldn't, but if people want me to debug a crash I want the 1.0 address.

Because I have many things named in 1.0. This is also the reason I develop my mods for 1.0 first. Everything else would take more effort.

Ok, I understand that there are many scripts that were written for 1.0 and that's probably the reason why many people prefer using 1.0 instead. But the question is why people nowadays write mods for 1.0 anyways? The 1.1 patch was published by Rockstar shortly after the game release and it was supposed to be used by everyone.because it fixes important things. It will be good for the future of modding if everyone sticks with one single version and I don't see a point why this version should be 1.0

Aren't those fixes like ported to 1.0 with SilentPatch?

Is there a way to downgrade the Steam version?

Get no-cd exe.

If everyone who uses 1.0 with SilentPatch can load his saved games and his settings don't reset every time he launches the game - it's ok ;)

One more thing that the 1.1 patch does - it allows you to copy all audio files on the hard drive and the game will load them from there. It will still need the 2nd CD in order to start the game but it won't load files from the CD.

I have 1.1 but I use the Steam version and I don't have a choice. About the no-cd exe - it's against the rules of the forum to discuss the use of cracks. And also if you are using crack you shouldn't even post about your problems because they may be because of the crack.

You know Cleo? It can do this too

Tested it in a 1.0 exe and this is what I got:

-EDIT-

Now that error isn't appearing anymore, but the map loads without some textures, despite the fact that I changed the worldpipe to "1" and the TXD limit to "1024".

-EDIT2-

Oh, it works! I just had to remove the txd.img and txd.dir from the "models" file.

Maybe you should put that info on the Readme, @The Hero. :)

Anyways, it looks stunning! Even better than I thought! I really appreciate your excellent work, keep it up!

I looked at the crash today and I think found the cause of it. I increased the limit of the TXD pool (CTxdStore::ms_pTxdPool) but there is a second streaming pool (CStreaming::ms_aInfoForModel, for DFFs + TXDs) that I *didn't* increase. The xbox version has 6524 (= 5500 + 1024) entries but the PC version only has 6350 (= 5500+850). Unfortunately this limit can't be increased easily but will require a bit of work :(

Has anyone ever tried to find out why some interiors (like the pizza place) are broken in the converted PS2 SA map?

EDIT: whoops. wrong topic.
