Dom's Charger from the original The Fast and the Furious. Dom's Daytona from Fast 6 in the background.

Not sure if posted before, but I just noticed the logo on the carpets. Nice detail IMO.

Love the new Dukes. Just wish we could chrome out the rims as well.

Can you find one driving around online or is the only option to buy it for $62,000? I have to get one after browsing this thread.

PS its called a Dukes but the car it self is closer to a 66-67 Buick Riviera when it comes to overal pointy/round shapes.

Dukes-GTA4-rear.jpg

Then to a 69 Charger as many think.

General-Lee.jpg

1969_Dodge_Charger_green_R.jpg

And it has a 1st gen firebird grill.

108_kenneth_67_firebird.jpg

Stats dont mean sh*t. Waiting to see where it falls in Fully modded testing. Gonna get anyways

It was pretty much the slowest musclecar in GTA IV, so it being a bit on par with the Buccaneer would be expectable.

what are you talking about? All you just did is show how it looks much more like the charger. Obviously charger based. Edited by huckmonkey

I attempted to recreate the 68 charger from counts customs.

Here is the car from the show

And here is how mine turned out.

I couldn't bring myself to use chrome as the secondary color, so i went with brushed black steel. I think it suits it better.

Ugh. More of this "this car is definitely 100% based on this real car".

No. No car in any GTA has been a 1:1 exact replica, for obvious reasons. What any particular GTA car takes its inspiration from is up to each player's interpretation. You can believe what you want to believe, but you can't say what someone else sees isn't true. You can provide evidence to explain why you recognize what you do, but none of it is proof of anything. I'm going to show what I have seen, but none of it proves anything.

The Dukes obviously does take cues from the Charger. There's little or no dispute that the hide-away headlights, Coke-bottle shape with long overhangs, and the "Dukes" name are nods to the Charger. I I think the B-pillars and rear window are especially Charger-esque.

In addition to that, I personally appreciate lots of Pontiac cues. Firstly, the brand. Imponte, who also makes the Phoenix and Ruiner, both reminiscent of Firebird / Trans Am.

100px-Imponte-GTAIV-logo.pngpontiac-logo-250.jpg

Secondly, the huge chromed steel front bumper wraps around the entire grille, and has a large vertical point split down the centre. This was a common design cuein many Pontics in the late sixties. Firebird/Trans Am, Catalina/Bonneville/Parisienne, and Tempest/Le Mans/GTO all had huge bumpers surrounding their grilles. Pontiac kept the vertically separated grille until the brand's end. The Charger did also have a vertical split in '69, though it wasn't as prominent nor was it steel. Pontiacs of this era also had soft-pointed corners front & rear, similar to the Dukes.

Even the placement of the front & rear Imponte emblems is similar to what Pontiac did.

Lastly, the optional spoiler reminds me of the '69 GTO Judge's piece:

Everyone sees different things. Someone might see some resemblance to Buick, or AMC, or Ford, or even Kia for all I know.

^^^ best post in this thread, even without pics.

I can't believe that after almost a year of trying to tell people the buccaneer is a 64 Riviera not a gto and now this.... a few design elements changed to avoid lawsuits or perhaps to give a nod/respect to a few cars at once does not change what 75% of the car very clearly is, and that goes for MANY of the cars in tbis game

Yes it is. Very nice. The color and wheels are very fitting for a Charger. If I ever get one I will have to do it up similarly.

It's more of a 65 Riviera if you want to be technical. Buccaneer and the Blade are my 2 favs, the Blade being based mostly off a 65 Ford Falcon AFX.

I know it's nothing like an Impala (and the Buccaneer or even Voodoo maybe would've been a better choice) but I didn't have them to hand and I couldn't resist using this beauty :B

People are just blinded because its called Dukes. It looks a lot more like other vehicles then a Charger. GTA fanbase Derp.

Sorry I got a little off-topic earlier.

Anyway, I came here wondering how competitive the Dukes is Online against other cars in the Muscle class. I've driven them stock and modded in SP, and I really like the grip and handling. Those of you who have raced it Online, what do you think of think of its acceleration and speed? I don't expect it to out-drag a Blade or be as well-rounded as a Gauntlet or Intruder, but if it can hold its own I might replace my Sabre Turbo with a Dukes.

According to broughy the dukes is .7 seconds slower than the Dominator (no turbo cuz bug) comparable to blade.

On the topic of people being blinded by it being called a dukes. It has the lines of a charger on the side and the grille is a mix the rear is a pontiac but as said all cars are a mix of others in gta.

Its kinda pointed to the fact its a charger with the ability to add a flag to the roof much like the movie car. It will always be a charger to me
