Rockstar needs to release this game on PC! I have played the hell out of all GTA games on PC, and I need this to come on PC so I can play the hell out of them to! Anyone know if Rockstar said anything about releasing this game on PC?

No, they never said anything about a PC port and, considering how the game's tenth anniversary already passed without a single word from R*, is more unlikely than ever that these two games will get a PC/Android/iOS release.

They barely acknowledged the anniversary today. Want to know how they're "celebrating"? Pointless throwback jobs in GTA Online (it's mentioned at the very bottom of the article):

http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/52526/gta-online-player-created-throwback-jobs-the-warriors

I do wish we'd get an actual PC release of the Stories games someday, but I honestly doubt it will ever happen at this point. In the meantime, playing the PSP versions on PPSSPP with 60FPS patches has been a decent alternative for me.

There's a 60fps patch for the PPSSPP version? It's already smooth as it is (much smoother than the terrible PS2 port) but the 60fps would be interesting.

Seeing as how Rockstar waited an entire year to port San Andreas over to PS3, and then decided to release it ON-DISC for some god forsaken reason, who knows what crack they will smoke and do in the future. We might see a LCS PC port out of nowhere a year from now or 6 months, or maybe never. Who knows with those clowns.

It involves enabling cheats on PPSSPP and only works on the European version of the game, but LCS does have a 60FPS patch (along with VCS). Aside from the occasional audio issue, it's pretty neat. I might try making a video of it in action sometime this week.

What is the audio issue? That it skips about because the game is going so fast?

I wish there were 60fps to these games on PCSX2. Better controls + more content in the case of VCS.

With 60FPS, certain sound effects will play for an abnormally long time (like car horns, for example). It's not a game breaker, but it can get annoying. It usually goes away after pausing/resuming the game, though, and thankfully VCS doesn't have this issue.

I'm still holding out for a PCSX2 60FPS patch (there's a patch for Metal Gear Solid 3, so it's not impossible). At the very least, maybe Sony could release the PS2 versions on PS4 like they did with III/VC/SA this week.

I liked your comment not because of what you said something I agree on. I liked it because Brian Pillman, f*ck Yeah!

Also I have a problem. I actually own a PSP and I own a copy of LCS, but the only problem is that my PSP lags like crazy!

I recommend you to flash your PSP, then Overclock it and bump your UMD disc to memory stick.

PPSSPP is the best PSP emulator, it even supports true 60 FPS without the "time lapse" effect.

At least emulated (yes I own the originals) the PSP version looks far superior bar low draw distance/resolution and low quality sound effects so a 60fps patch for that would be great, how do I get it?

Yes it does. Also, VCS should be included to make it a 'Double Pack' Game Package. :)

Unfortunately, I think you're right, and it SUCKS.

I would LOVE to see a PC version of both LC and VC, and not just some mod with no missions. I purchased both games waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when they lauinched on the PSP, then bought the PS2 ports of them. Early last year, after finishing GTA V 100%, I decided to give the PS3 download of VCS a try. While I love that game, and think Vic Vance is an awesome protagonist, I was so incredibly disappointed that Rockstar allowed Sony to release this to PSN as a "PS3 game" without at least making the graphics of the same quality as a PC port of any of the games.

Yeah, I finished the game 100%, but man does it look absolutely AWFUL on a high def TV. The worst part about it is all they had to do was bump up the graphics to PS3/PC quality. Felt a lot like false advertising to me, but whatever. I just rolled my eyes and played the game anyway lol.

I will confess that I don't understand the release to mobile devices without a PC port. Who knows, maybe they will release it as a Windows 7 App, like the San Andreas App, which was actually somewhat different than the straight up PC version. No mods, but still a decent PC port. Plus, as a Windows App, it can be played on a Windows tablet as well as a PC.

So there may be some promise here, but like you, I doubt it.

Edit: I just read through this thread. Am I to understand that you can play this game on the PC with a PS2 emulator? Oh, and countergame, where did you get the Maverick? I didn't think that was a vehicle accessible in the game.

Maverick you can hijack it in False Idols.

You can also get the Maverick from Cash in Kazuki's Chips, but only on PSP. It's also much more difficult to obtain than the False Idols one.

I recently installed PCXS2 and made an ISO of my PS2 LCS disk and the game runs rather well, despite a few rendering bugs.

Yeah I've played LCS extensively on the emulated PS2 via PS3 "PS2 Classics", on PCSX2 via an .ISO dump of the game disc, on the original PSP, and on Windows via the PPSSPP emulator. By far the best experience out of all of those was the Windows-based PPSSPP emulator. You get smooth 30fps with no real frame dips all the time, natively upscaled textures, up to x6 and beyond the resolution of the PSP (480x272), and more. The only drawbacks is the lack of decent camera control, but not a gamebreaker by any means.

The original PSP version is nice but I mostly played it on a hacked PSP which I overclocked to 333mhz from the stock 222mhz with some music player plugin I had, lol. That boosted the framerate up to a good level. Had a blast playing the multiplayer with friends back in the day.

PS2 version on PCSX2 is OKAY at best, even with upscaled graphics and resolution. The sucky part is that the game still has terrible performance even if you emulate it at "full speed" (in PCSX2, full speed just means the emu is emulating whatever game at the same speed it ran at on the original hardware), and as we know, the PS2 port of LCS runs like utter sh*t with super-low frame dips all over the place.

The PS3 "PS2 Classics" version is the worst of the lot because it doesn't have any native upscaling at all, and retains the bad framerate. So on my 32 in. HDTV in my bedroom, the game looks f*cking terrible and the overall picture is super-dark even with the brightness turned all the way up in the game options. It's just ridiculous. Still fun to play in short bursts but they shouldn't have ever released the game in that state. It's barely playable.

Man, my game turns off sometimes in the PSP simulator, does it happened to you sometime? It turns off when I press a button.
