New gun tint feature/bug

So I was doing a survival and decided to pull out my combat mg which has the new tint on it. I noticed how it has a pink pearlescent over the tint which looks pretty cool but I'm pretty sure this is either a bug or new feature. It's not like this in the shop so is this the same for anyone else or am I missing something?

To do this you need to follow these steps:

1) Purchase the tint you want (this will act as the pearlescent)

2) Purchase the Engraved tint

3) Join a new session

4) Engraved tint should have the pearlescent colour from the tint you picked

This only works on the combat MG from what I know but feel free to try other guns and tints to see if they work.

I noticed my combat MG has a new tint scope and engraving but is still mostly LSPD blue. It looks good.

They added some of the ill gotten gains tints to other weapons but the combat mg and special carbine have the tint shown above, which is exclusive for those two I think. The pinkish pearlescent is a cool glitch/feature.

Great find. I might actually get more weapons engraved if it means it'll be a color other than gold

I wonder how much that Combat MG would go for on CS: GO? $20,000 perhaps?

The gun tint will affect whatever engraving you have

Just been experimenting trying to recreate the effect and it doesn't work. Is there an actual method?

And once again, glitch is better than the actual feature offered

Ok I've just been experimenting and it looks like you can do this glitch by applying the tint first (pink for me) then you apply the engraving. The tint doesn't show up in the shop or in the lobby you are in so what I did was join a survival. The tint still wasn't there so I killed myself. When I returned to free mode the tint was there again with the engraving. It has only worked on my combat mg so I don't know if other tints or engravings can get this effect.

I switched session and it stayed. Even stayed when I went to single player and back.

Yeah I thought that would work. Get these unique tints whilst they last people!

The tint is permanent, I've had a chrome pink Combat MG since the update dropped.

Also I don't think you need to do the survival because I haven't done one in months and I still got my chrome pink. Maybe you have to change sessions or its just automatically glitched after buying the engraved metal tint.

The Cookie Monster

It seems they live fixed this, at least, on Xbox One.

Update I was wrong, I did it incorrectly.

Have you ever seen gold and gold plating in person?

It looks pretty yellowish.

I think the "gold" looks more like bronze...

I just tried it with my Combat MG, Advanced Rifle and Pistol .50. I did what you said you did, bought the pink paint then the engraving, started a survival, died then left. Only the Combat MG worked for me, not the other two.

I'd test out the others but I haven't bought the engravings for any other guns so I don't want to waste money on them.

Yeah it only works for that gun I think. Edited by JoeFury1997

Has anyone kept these after restarting? I had done this and I died and it dissapeared

Yeah mine has stayed on even after I died, switched sessions, swapped characters and exited the game. It's easy to reapply the effect anyway fortunately.

Seems to work for all guns now, I just didn't notice the differences before. Here are some examples of the platinum tint mixed with the luxury tints:
