Official General

PC version running at 60fps with SkyFx and Project 2DFX, no contest.

PS2 version 1.0 for sure. Only because I love the original, and I'm nostalgic, back in the days when the whole game was on the disc. They couldn't release patches, remove music, and chill my hot coffee! LOL

I'm currently playing it on Android mobile, which is just a cheap port of the PC version. It's clunky with the touch controls, but it gets the job done of curbing that craving for some GTA SA. It just sucks that 16 (+?) radio tracks are gone due to licensing.

Also on mobile, when I perform stealth knife kills, there's no killing animation from CJ. The victim just suddenly grabs their throat and starts bleeding everywhere? 😂 Just small pet peeves like this I hate.

Original orange hazy PS2 atmosphere with nothing changed or missing is the true experience. Plug in that dualshock and fly over the desert while "Running Down a Dream" on K-DST blasts over the hum of the plane engine, orange hazy glow filling your TV. 🙂

*EDIT*

Is it also the same on PC as it is on mobile, where the car acceleration audio is reversed? It's some weird bug where the engine starts off in high gear and ACCELERATES into low gear (audibly). Like what the heck? 😩

Because it's another annoying PC/mobile pet peeve.

It's what completely ruined the HD remaster ports of SA. The entire acceleration is completely f*cked in those versions along with the mobile ports. I'm always going to perfer the original PS2 port for nostalgia reasons but I have to give PC credit for at least bringing PS2's weather affects back. There always was just something so special about SA on PS2 no matter if it's a bit outdated. Never did stop the enjoyment.

So how could R* ignore this audio glitch and just keep pumping out new versions with this bug? LOL 😩

They honestly didn't give a damn. This was first seen in the mobile ports and I really thought at first they would fix or patch the issue but it never happened since R* ingored any further updates for SA's mobile ports. And unfortunately WarDrum did the same sh*t again when they or R* which ever decided to port SA over 360 and PS3 carried out the same bug again and it completely ruined SA's driving mechanics on the remaster ports. And apparently the STEAM version is up there with the HD ports because both are crap. Taking out my Tupac and Ozzy?????? HELL naaa....

It's extremely annoying when driving on the highways or even pretty much anywhere and your vehicle automatically shifts to high gear out of flying nowhere when I barley even hit the gas on the trigger, It's a damn shame. SA never did get it's proper remaster since the so called remaster is a complete disaster....Can't touch these rhymes  lmaoo...

But that's most likely the case. They just didn't bother fixing this, not even in the games files when they had the chance before SA's remaster would release. For that matter, the OG PS2 will always be my go to for SA. Second would be the original Xbox. Anybody else would prefer SA on PC V.1 due to mods and no disastrous changes.

This isn't even a question, PS2 version is way better pratically in any aspect.

Maybe just mouse and keyboard beat  joystick, and auto-aim is something that I honestly abhor, for making the game easy. You have to aim on your own instead of just push two buttons and shoot, and playing a PC is more enjoyable, especially in such games.

But this is still something that concerns the platform, if we think the versions as they could be put in both platform, PS2 has a better mood, more songs, less glithc, less removed contents. I find the PS2 one the real one, due to his style that reminds me a old gangsta movie and its 90s vibe that persist trough the whole game.

PC vers. is dull, the city is dull, seems less alive, sometimes i forgot that i am playing a game that takes place in the 90.

The gangsta rap songs and the orange sky make me fell like I am inside a movie or something like that.

Well to be honest, the only reason why I hate the pc version of gta sa is because of the controls. I'm not use to it since I usually play controller back in the day. I also play with my PSP a lot so that's why I'm used to controller more than keyboard. I'm also used to the mobile controls, they were also very easy to me. Damn, if only I'm good at using keyboard, I would have been able to complete gta sa 3 times like I did on mobile

PS2 version still better. thats why i modded my gta SA pc to be just like PS2 version

P.S : on PC you cant play basketball from beginning of the game until you finished the "tagging up turf" mission, while on PS2 you can play basketball from beginning of the game

I still have the game on pc and ps2 but the ps2 one tends to crash way more often and have tons of disk error messages.

ps2 = a real good game.ps3 all the buttons have moved,if you played before you be leaping from fast moving vehichles and jumping on the spot when trying to shoot ps3=sh*t no other word for it.

just downloaded gta sa on pc.mouse and keyboard = useless

waiting on a ps2 type controller that hopefully works on a pc.

if the buttons arnt in the same place as ps2 my next option is to start all over again and buy ps2 console, controller and the gta sa disc.i do have a 100% no cheat save on a memory card from 2004/5 ? its probably banjaxed to?

☺️
