Cheetah$
Hey everyone, Just wondering if anyone knows where I can get a format disc? What kind of store would have one if you know? It tells me to insert this disc when i put in the GameShark 2 CD ... a red screen comes up and says "please insert a ps2 format disc" (something like that) ... and i don't know where one is thanks in advance for any help! JoeyLeone25
I'm not certain but I think it means put in a playstation style disc e.g a game or somethin & sometimes this happens to me so check your disc for dust & scratches Anomalous Material.com <--> AMF Multiplayer Topic Join Quidco and get Cashback for buying things online! The-Jackal
That happened to me one time, but usually you just gotta restart the console, so that it recognizes it. You cant just start it up and then put it in, like if you forget to take out the game disc. You know what i mean. Just make sure that when you turn on the console, the disc inside is the GS disc. Cheetah$
hmmm .. well, the disc is definitly not too scratched or dusty to work cuz i just exchanged it for a new one ... but now ... i, #1: put in the gameshark mem. card ... #2: power up the PS2 on the back .. #3: open the disc slot ... #4:place the gameshark 2 CD in ... and close it up. .. then after it 'reads' it goes to the red screen saying "Please insert a PlayStation or PlayStation 2 format disc." ... what to do? any hints on who might know or where/what to do or get? The-Jackal
Once it's in, restart the ps2 so that when it starts up, the cd will already be in there. Try that.

hotFDLC
This simply means that you must put in a Playstation or Playstation 2 disc. The "format" part is a process in which computers make it so the hardware that is reading the disc is compatible with the disc that it's reading. Yes, your GS disk is PS2 formatted. Try standing PS2 up vertically. This greatly reduced the # of times my PS2 gave me this screen. And resetting while the disc is in the tray works as well. faustianbargain
This same exact problem has happened before. All the information that has been stated USUALLY works but there are a few GS discs out there that are lacking all the information. The first GS disc I bought was like this. I took it back and they checked it... The disc was blank. What version is your disc???? Version 1 had quite a few error discs, I have not yet heard of defective version 2 discs, yet. Take the disc back and get a replacement.

Cheetah$
I already did, I took the first one back and got a brand new one (not that the first one was even old, it is the same version) ... this is sad because, yup, i've tried countless restarts with the CD in and, yup, i've tried pushing the dongle in far enough, and all that stuff ... so, my question is like, Is there actually a PlayStation 2 format disc i can get?! ... or is there one more thing i could try? thanks a lot for all the ideas so far, and thx in advance again
Alucasan
I have the same problem as you amigo, every time i want AR to work i have to go to Browser then insert the cd. Sometimes the ps2 recognize the cd and voila. Try 'Browser' is my advice.
