Can you ask a mod if you can take over this thread? Ask Raavi, he's cool, he let me take over a thread too. He won't have any problems with this.

^^ Very good point. I'll start with what I should have done from day one--and that is, ask the OP for his permission to take over only if(!) he's no longer interested in maintaining it. I acted on an assumption, which I really shouldn't have.

Anywho, if I don't hear back from the OP in a week or so (have sent him a message), I'll ask Raavi.

I had no idea anybody was even interested in this thread anymore, Or interested at all. I decided to continue updating it!

Did we find all the locations ? or still more to be found ?

Thing is there are 4 types of the pickups that can spawn in your session (Miscellaneous, Throwables, Melee, Weapons).

However I'm not sure if only one type appears and the others remain until you switch to a new session.

^^ If the numbers are correct, 82.5% of total weapons/spawn points have been found to date, so 165 of 200 (with 35 remaining).

Thanks for the info about the spawn types; I've also wondered about how the spawn frequency is set up, especially if someone picks up one or more of the items (i.e. no more spawns for those items, unless the session somehow empties out?). In my experience, it seems like some spawn locations are more frequent than others (e.g. Sticky Bombs at the quarry)--perhaps just a factor in the random generation code..?

I'm surprised that R* didn't include more popular weapons and gear like the Assault Shotgun, Super Heavy Body Armor, etc. seeing as (quite honestly) the usefulness of the spawn rate and lack of convenience pretty much makes this a collector/hunter "thing" rather than a feature for general players.

I'm more surprised they didn't use that tuneable variable to create blips for the pickups.

Not sure if they are waiting for us or if they don't know such thing exists.

Molotov among seats, closer to the stage of Vinewood Bowl

Nice find--especially for Molotovs (great hiding spot for them too). 83% found.

If it helps, it's on the left side (facing the stage), second "section" from the front.

FWIW 34 items still "out there" waiting to be discovered:

- One Jerry Can
- Two Grenades
- One Molotov
- Three Sticky Bombs
- One Tear Gas canister
- Two Broken Bottles
- One Nightstick
- Six Combat Pistols
- Six Micro SMGs
- Four Pump Shotguns
- Three Assault Rifles
- Two Sniper Rifles

I assume screenshot incoming (as usual)? :) Thanks! Always nice to have one more potential place to refill those Molotovs. Especially when you occasionally get 10 at a time; as opposed to three in an Ammo Drop. Besides, I have the tendency to keep uh, lighting fires under the LSPD. ;)

Considering how well R*'s code is working on these, it would be great if they considered adding some kind of random money bag spawn per public session (small amount; say $10k or $20k) to the map.

...theoretically not big enough to be a problem if something goes wrong, but perhaps enough to motivate select players to explore new terrain. FWIW, not sure whether there's any truth to the rumor that Armored Vans were discontinued due to their money bags somehow making it easier for script kids... more likely the buggy old spawn/despawn code that R* refuses to touch for fear of collapsing the house of code cards.

Anyway; could at least provide some nice surprises to various players who stumble onto them. :)

(Sorry; deleted post)

My mistake on what I thought was a new elevator-to-underground location (and possible new weapon spawn spot). lol My poor brain.

Edit: Going to retract this one until I actually have a screenshot to prove it; though I certainly picked up a Combat Pistol, it occurred to me that the persisting "sticky notification" bug means I may have picked it up somewhere before I got to the Merryweather docks.

My apologies; will keep checking and report back if I have any solid evidence.

Edit (May 18, 2017): For the life of me, I still can't figure out where I would have picked this up; have been back to the Merryweather docks multiple times retracing my steps and still nothing.

Haha, similar situation has happened to me. Though, I actually have seen it (barely) before I picked it up, while hiding from the jet griefer. Anyway, shotgun near the haystack in Vinewood Racetrack stable:

As usual, nice find!

FWIW, am now spending my time on UnknownPlayers "Battleground", but will pop-in as new weapons are spotted.

I found the last (hopefully last) molotov pickup behind the tattoo parlor at El Burro Heights.

There's a car parking area to the right side of the parlor, I ran to the end of it and looked left, finding a small alley with a molotov pickup. :3

I'm surprised by how simple of a spot this was.

^^ Nice find! Sorry for the late reply.

I believe I may have found the last of the tear gas--around the corner from the Cypress Flats Ammu-nation (one with the gun range).

As usual, wasn't looking for it--just trying to evade the LSPD. lol

As usual, please correct me if I'm wrong...

Wrong again; was Assault Rifle no. 5 previously found by Ermac.

^^ Argh; guilty once again--wrongly assumed "Martin's House" was his stilt house shown in most of his contact missions. Honestly didn't know he had more than one.

...but should have double-checked by actually looking at Ermac's screenshot just to be sure. *ahem*

My apologies; thanks for pointing this out! List corrected.

I did update Ermac's description though with the official "Vinewood Hills" area and added "other" just as a note that Martin owns more than one house. :)

Just wanna say 1) how much i love and appreciate this thread, and 2) how glad i am that they finally added weapon spawns. These were added before or after CG?

My mind is drawing a blank--CG?

IIRC, the weapon pickups were added with the "Lowriders (part 1)" update on October 20, 2015.

They are handy; certainly not every location (some are impractical really, and just for the "hunt" aspect), but some are in places close enough to swing by and grab some free supplies. :)

Current gen. Yeah i thought it was around LR/Halloween surprise 2015. So many updates it's hard to keep track, but that's a wonderful problem to have really.

Ah; Current Gen of course (my old brain). lol Was thinking maybe you meant to say CS (Cunning Stunts).

But yeah--I'm a big fan of the concept behind weapon pickups; would love to see it expanded to include other things like money bags or any item of interest that motivates players to explore the map (even underwater) and do something besides killing other players.

More exploration, spontaneity, and variety in general are personally big draws to the game. Part of why I loved the robbable Armored Vans, as well as the Crate Drops, Smuggler Planes, Choppers, etc. They added some serious fun to Los Santos.

But getting back on topic (sorry); here's the stats--and my previous totals were wrong; it should be 85.5% of total spawn points found to date: 171 of 200 (29 remaining):

One Jerry Can
Two Grenades
Three Sticky Bombs
Two Broken Bottles
One Nightstick
Six Combat Pistols
Six Micro SMGs
Three Pump Shotguns
Three Assault Rifles
Two Sniper Rifles

Hey guys! Sorry for the noobish question, specially if it has been answered already. If you pick up any of these weapons, and you have never bought that weapon before, will you be able to keep it after going offline (given that your rank is high enough to be able to go buy one at Ammu-nation)?

Thanks in advance

Yes--none of the weapons in the pickups are level-locked, so whatever you pick up (including ammo), you can keep for good!
