The weapon pickup hunt

^^ Added--you're relentless! :)

Just curious; does it still take between 5-10 session changes to find these based on your guesses as to where they might be?

Just realized, there's nothing to do in game after achieving gold statue in CEO crate stuff (1000 purchases).

So, yeah, I'm back in weapon pickups (until Bikers came up). Now I just fly over possible locations, without swapping sessions. Even with ~40 weapons left it's still possible to find something new.

Alright, another Molotov spawns at trailer park. Not in Stab City, but the one near RON Alternates Wind Farm:

As usual, good find! Added.

BTW, does anyone have a screenshot for the following (reported by Cornbat?) I have yet to actually find this, even though I've looked many, many times..?

Here you go:

Damn, I have been looking all over that multiple rooftop building. Just one session, though. Guess my feeling was right, though, there's a sniper there.

That's how it works. Unfortunately sometimes it's not enough. BTW, what would you expect to find there?

There's a grenade inside Ft. Zancudo--namely, right inside the small "elevator" pillbox that the UFO hovers over at a certain time of night (finally got a screenshot).

(stumbled onto it as I was looking for cover taking out some revenge on the pathetically over-buffed Army troops lol):

Guys, please check the list before posting. It was noted before under number 7 in shotguns:

Hello, I found a shotgun in La Fuente Blanca (Madrazo Ranch) in Vinewood Hills

Sniper rifle on the back porch of an abandoned house in Great Chaparral:

And I think I finally found this one:

Here's a micro smg up in sandy shores around back of an old house.

What a shame! Guy can't even write a proper description.
Anyway, it's behind the 'Boat House', Alamo Sea:

Awesome stuff, DentureDynamite!

I 'haven't looked at this thread since a few days after it was started because the OP was the typical no-show. Nice to see you took over.

Now for someone to take the info and make a good map....anyone?

Now for someone to take the info and make a good map....anyone?

It was suggested repeatedly. Once again, there's no point in making a map because of three things:

1. Only 3/4 weapons found so far.

2. Weapons spawn randomly, so you can't find all 200 in one session.

3. It would be a mess.

@ Sagrawa: Thanks :) But I do appreciate the OP's starting this thread--would probably never have gotten off the ground were it not for him.

And yeah, unless there was a way to layer data (on/off, etc.) it would be a pretty messy map--it would also likely need some kind of augmentation with screenshots to help pinpoint precisely where at least some of the weapon spawns are.

Actually, as it stands, some of the weapon pickups are useful; but honestly, most of the time they're just not worth it because they:

1) take too much time to get there (and time is money in GTAO--just ask R* themselves lol)

2) in impractical locations (e.g. Ft. Zancudo a.k.a. suicide valley...R* likes to troll; what else is new?)

3) don't spawn frequently enough in that known location to make it worthwhile checking in the first place

4) don't return enough ammo to make it cost-effective/worthwhile in GTA time (e.g. 10 rounds of ammo for a sniper rifle on top of the VINEWOOD sign is not worth it)

If R* did the following, it would help:

* increase the frequency of the spawns to make them more worthwhile checking

* add Super Heavy Body Armor to the locations (perhaps a "pack" of two or three at a time per location would be a nice gesture)

* add some random money bags around the map (I still think this would be fun; doesn't have to be much--maybe even $10k would still be a nice find, and motivate some of us to keep our eyes open)

I remember finding some code that allows R* to show every weapon pickup location in the minimap.

However it's disabled, but they can flip it on and ruin the hunt.

What if they are waiting for someone to finish the hunt and enable the code as reward ?

Maybe that sort of map could work as proof ?

My 50th weapon spawn location. It definitely deserves a separate post.

It'll be the last one. I got few more, but I won't reveal it, so I'll leave it to you.

You're the reason why we can't have nice things. You're the reason easter eggs and hidden secrets are becoming so rare in video games. I hope you step on a Lego. I hope you immediately step in a wet spot every time you put on a sock. I hope your life is as pleasant as you are.

He is not keeping you or anyone else from finding the locations without accessing this external map, so there is no reason for you or others to behave this way. In fact, one could claim that this thread negatively affects the experience for players as well. However, the same applies here and players are not forced to access this thread and make use of the information provided. This is why I assume that this rant is less about protecting the supposedly precious community and perhaps more about wanting to retain the prestige to yourself. But that goes both ways too, as the person or group you are referring to are not exactly adverse to a rather meaningless form of attention.

Now, change the random spawns to briefcases with $30k or something of even greater value, and suddenly you've got a whole bunch of players motivated to look around them a little more...even me!

There could be both, weapon spawns and briefcases, with the briefcases and perhaps higher powered weapons appearing underwater in the ocean. It would literally add a lot of depth at relatively little effort.

Thanks Impressme--screenshots added, and new pump shotgun location added.

Congratulations on your 50th find! Time for your well-deserved break after tens/hundreds(?) of hours of hunting. :)
