The same guy must’ve designed the Ruiner and the Faction.

 

Ruiner - Front is Nissan based, rest is Camaro/ Firebird

 

Faction - Rear is Nissan based, rest is Buick.

Yeah I still don't see it. Like I said, the only thing that even looks similar is the coloration of the taillights.

@GTA_Elegy & @VaderDaddy, There's a resemblance between the Sivlia and Faction tail, but that's also saying it's similar to a lot of other contemporary cars. It's not a Buick tail exactly, nor is it the Nissan tail. At any rate, it's always seemed a little out of place on the Faction, seeing as it is mostly a Buick Regal. Those bumper reverse lamps are odd!

I'm considering purchasing this car again, but I keep putting it off simply because driving over curbs is the equivalent to hitting a short wall that launches and flips your car. That and you need to mod it into a lowrider for the turbo bulge. Come on Rockstar!

 

I want to enjoy this car, I really do. The GNX is an awesome car and want a worthy GTA representation in online.

Finally sold mine, I just couldn't get over how awful it can be driving it and since based on that I never did drive it... it freed up a spot for the deviant I picked up I guess :(

I sent Rockstar some of Broughy's videos on the Faction's f*cked up suspension on their feedback page a couple of months ago. Probably won't accomplish anything though.

There's a single misplaced number in the code. Literally one digit.

 

It would take less than a minute to fix.

I don't know exactly, but from what I remember when wildbrick showed me I think it's something to do with the bumper. The number that indicates the height the hit box should be is placed slightly underground, instead of on the bumper itself.

This is my favorite muscle car in the game. I haven't even bennied it just cause I don't want to ruin it with Hydrolics or those ugly ass huge rims.

Well. When they fixed the faction all lowriders became impossible to drive, so i guess is not something a hotfix can do :/

Probably because they did it in a completely stupid way, and then gave up once it failed. Typical of Rockstar.

 

There are mods that fix it, that work perfectly, that do nothing more than correct the single number. No other changes are made to the game.

I don't recall anyone linking the lowrider f*ck-up to the Faction being fixed. Anyone actually drive a stock Faction during this time?

It should be noted that the issue is not only on the bumpers but also even on the car doors.

 

Lower the suspension to max possible and then take the car to any place that has any elevated curb, like those you find in parking lots, then try to open the doors: They will hit the curbs and not open fully, no other car has kind of behavior in the game.

 

One could even say that this is hitbox is realistic...But in this case is just too realistic, and realism like that just doesn't work on this game.

I did, no it wasn't fixed back then either.

slight necro but f*ck it, this isn't what it is

All the cars from the first lowrider DLC have a flag in handling data called DONT_FORCE_GRND_CLEARANCE

The game has a mechanic where when a car is moving it will ignore collision polys below a certain height to make going over bumps and kerbs etc smoother. That flag disables this mechanic and was used on the first batch of lowriders because they're lowriders, they have problems with kerbs and stuff. That's all well and good, but Rockstar got a bit lazy, and so the Faction and Moonbeam share handling with their lowrider variants. This means they have the flag too and the Faction's ride height is perfect to get absolutely launched by kerbs

While I can see where you're coming from, I also can't understand where you're going with this, the Faction (as is, the regular Faction, without hydraulics) has clear collision issues with its bottom, which makes it launch on curbs, whereas the Faction Lowrider won't be launched.

 

Are you meaning to tell us the the normal Faction doesn't have this flag to ignore collision upon moving? Or that it also has this flag and it is this flag that makes it go airborne?

 

Because if it's the latter then that makes no sense, the car is way taller than the curbs it hits but it still gets launched anyway, whereas the Lowrider doesn't - which is lower than the curbs, if we are going to apply logic to this then the regular Faction shouldn't be launched either, even if it has these flags.

 

Oh and the Moonbeam doesn't have this launch issue at all, stock model or the Lowrider, and the Moonbeam has even more ground clearance than the stock Faction.
