The faction is my most anticipated car of the update. Hoping that it drifts well for some action movie-like car chases. Also wanting the same exhaust-note as the Dukes.

Well it is a turbo V6 in real life. I kinda hope it sounds more like the real thing. Dukes sound would work too though.

Now that I listen to both: A deeper note would sound better on the car. I Like the sound of the Sabre, but loathe the car for beating the Dukes in the elimination game  . People swap a V8 into the GN often to do it the justice that the manufacturers couldn't do at the time. V6 or V8; I want it fast and angry.
The V6 did it justice just fine. In the regular GN 0-60 was 4.9 seconds. GNX was 4.7. This was in 1987 too.Yeah I was going to say the same. The V6 was literally what made the car so badass. I don't think I have seen very many GN's with V8 swaps actually.I've seen a couple and I want to barf every time I do. Putting a V8 in a Grand National is basically turning it into a regular Regal imo.

Not hating one the original engine. Made the V6 even faster when it was the first car to be super-chipped. The only part of it that erks me is how many engines GM had at the time . And as much as I hate to say it. If Buick could've afforded to drop one of GM's better V8's in these cars they would've. Even in a mint condition one everything seems a bit flimsy and prone to ware, but hey it was the eighties. It is a car that I want tastefully modified.

Ah, I disagree. Turbo makes it sound like a jet taking off. I speak from experience. V6 has a bit of a burble at idle too.

I don't want to see every damn car in this game bouncing up and down, that'd just be lame. Also, they need to make up a mission with Cesar Vialpando doing something involving a low-rider.

Gah I hate videos with music playing the entire time lol.

Of course, there is speculation that we are getting adjustable rim sizes with this update, so I guess we will see what comes of that.

Thing is like the chrome version of rims I bet you it'll cost a arm and a leg for a different size

all chrome rims are free for me :)

Ah, but it's Judas Priest's Turbo Lover! Could've been written for the car, at least somewhat. I understand though, I usually despise music in car videos. I just made an exception for that one.

Had the same feeling driving a turbo car. I once had a 2004 Tundra with an iForce V8 (no turbo) that pulled decently and made some noise when pushed for how domesticated it was (then a slow gas saving Mitsubishi). About a month ago I got a Mk.4 Golf GTI(Arguably the worst GTI, but the after market is there). I learned that you will hear the turbo before the engine. It's the fastest thing I've driven for under $6000. It's no race car, but the turbo just puts you off on how fast you can really go. At a light for the first time I put on a little bit of gas, but once it got to 3000RPM the turbo just said "let's go" and caught me a bit off guard. I start ranting after the spoiler

In a way turbo contributed to the death of the muscle car(some muscle cars of the 70's are destroyed in 0-60 times by a 3 cylinder 86' Honda City Turbo 2). Turbo was the future for the inexpensive car that can be fast, and Buick saw this so they surged their car to have that edge with the rest of the market. I'm only bothered by the fact that it wasn't a turbo V8, like the the Pontiac 301 turbo that it had the chance to have.(Pontiac and Buick are both owned by GM)

I have to argue about turbos killing the muscle car, or even contributing. It was the EPA, oil crisis of '73, and high insurance that killed them. Also, you have to remember they were on bias ply tires. It's been proven they're quite a bit quicker the second you put a half decent set of radials on them.

Yeah I could see that more being the case. "You wanna drive a 1970 Challenger across the desert like in Vanishing Point? Well you can only go 55 mph and you're gonna wanna watch your mileage. Also; bring a spare"

Bangers gonna be like...WTF? Only 6?

The newswire announcement, clearly states "half dozen" will be customizable.

I await the "lowriders" b*tch & moan threads on Tuesday.

You know if you're a breaking bad fan you could possibly recreate Emilio's regal from season 1 with the Faction.

I know I might. At least it be something different to the inevitable flood of grand nationals in the equally inevitable "faction appreciation thread", lol.

Oil crisis and new emissions laws killed off the big V8. Turbocharged cars annoy me. My mate had a 320bhp Starlet GT (under 900kg) and that was terrifying, but it was nothing nothing nothing BOOST scrabble spin spin spin until 100mph. Much preferred the feeling of my Supercharged Civic, but nothing beats Natural Aspiration for response and feel.

Only turbocharged cars I like are Turbo Buicks. Otherwise, I'll take a well done thumping V8.

I dont know if this was mention before, but Faction will have its orginal redone IV interior instead of generic sabre turbo muscle interior.

That means its completely new and unique interior.

The horn for the pinnacle was found. Which means they just recycled the horn from GTAIV. This has been clarified multiple times.

also whats TEC-9?

A really inaccurate cheap automatic pistol popularised by street gangs in the early 90's. It's also one of the first weapons you get in GTA: San Andreas, I guess.

A sub machine gun that was popular with gangs. Want a brief summary look it up on urban dictionary.
