gtafan2u
Try using GGMM to install weapons in case manually it is not working. And always replace don't add.

GrandTheftPinoy
putting or replace? and did you rebuild gta3.img? And when did your gta crashed? by start up? or loading? or ingame? I started up my GTA SA after putting my golden knife skin mod, but I was so lucky that I had another GTA SA folder with gta_sa.exe in it (And I can play GTA SA without using steampowered, or CD Try using GGMM to install weapons in case manually it is not working. And always replace don't add. I had golden knife mod with knifecur.dff and knifecurr.txd, and I did replaced it
Gramps
What were your methods of installing that mod? I would suggest using ModLoader to install your mods. That way you'll avoid problems with the gta3.img, as you won't need to touch it.

But the crash said that the fault module name is modloader.asi, but after moving it out from game directory, the fault module name changed to "gta_sa.exe", so this means I had to moving out from the game directory
Silent
What's the point of using Modloader when you still replace files in the IMG manually?
gtafan2u
As I said before, may be you not noticed, Try GGMM to install weapon mods. But doing it manually as silent said is always much better.
