Jaws 19 - This Time, It's Really, REALLY Personal

Universal has just put out the trailer for the highly-anticipated sequel to the 18th entry in the Jaws movie series. It's been in the making for the past 26 years, or -15 days depending on how you look at things.

 

 

 

 

For those of you a bit confused about this trailer, it's simply playing at a gag that Back to the Future Part II had in its 2015 version of Hill Valley. The "-15 days" bit I was talking about was in reference to the fact that 21st October, 2015 is the exact date that the characters in that film travel to.

 

 

But wait.

 

 

There's more.

 

 

Earlier this year, Nike announced plans to release the self-lacing Nike MAG kicks featured in the film at some point within this calendar year.

 

 

Pepsi also just announced they're honoring their contribution to the Hill Valley of 2015 by producing a limited, 6500-bottle run of "Pepsi Perfect", the soda that Marty McFly is seen ordering inside the Cafe 80's. In an interview with USA Today, Lou Arbetter, Pepsico's senior director of marketing, revealed "Fans have always been a little crazy about it, and so we wanted to take advantage of the fact that Marty travelled to the future, to this month, and wanted to actually come out with the product."

 

 

 

And speaking of USA Today, Bob Gale, the co-creator of the Back to the Future film trilogy, teased that the October 22nd edition of the publication would be

 

 

As for the most popular future invention featured in the film, the Mattel hoverboard, we've yet to see a fully functional model that can work on any given street or sidewalk. However, a few months ago Lexus revealed a fully-functional prototype board which was demoed at a custom-built skatepark in Barcelona, Spain. Unfortunately, it can currently be used only at that particular park.
