All of the new vehicles are dissapearing.

Tropos's lights are going slightly down and that's all, is it the same in Online?

Jv14uUgh.jpg

Is that the Tropos model on previous patch or renamed Tropos model on current patch?

That's exactly how the lights behave for me on previous patch.

Well... sh*t.

The lights work perfectly fine in Online.

That's bad news, if Claude's theory is true, we're screwed.

Seeing as both Tropos and Dukes have exactly the same headlights hierarchy in their models, there might be something else controlling them. We need to look deeper into the other files inside the update archive, probably (but unlikely) some new native functions.

BTW, Dukes didn't receive an update in today's patchday which would make it work with the new system, so it must be backwards-compatible.

vehicles.meta do not provide any additional flags, handling.meta too. Damn, it can't be hardcoded, changing a Hakumai name to tropos is a lame way.

Nope, Dukes is different. If you look at the Dukes it simply has "light_cover" in its model. In the Tropos' model, the headlight models/dummies are set as children of light_cover as they have to move with it, whereas the Dukes' headlights don't move with the covers.

I have a feeling that, just like the Dukes and T20's special features, if you get the hierarchy right it'll just know what you're doing and work.

It's the only difference and all it does is make headlights dummies move with the covers, it does not effect how the covers move, so I decided to not mention it, but thanks anyway.

Edit. There are some vehicles on gta5-mods.com with headlights dummies set as children under the cover so they move together, but they're still working the same way as Dukes does - rotating a very small degree around the pivot which is far behind. The only difference is that the dummy is flipped upside down so the covers move up, not down how they do on Dukes.

Have you tested that though?

Attaching the lights to the covers is the only difference the game could use to differentiate between the two.

^If that was the case, they would work in "tropos2", wouldn't they?

I haven't seen CP mention anything about tropos2 besides that he changed it to that to work around the deletion script. If it indeed doesn't work as tropos2 then it is something else.

Top screen on this page is a tropos2, light covers works like it was earlier with Hakumai, when Simple Trainer will be updated, I'll try to put Hakumai as a tropos and check results.

That's odd.

How are you guys modifying the game without OpenIV.asi by the way? Whenever I edit the archives directly I just get the corrupt data message.

Why without OpenIV.asi? It's the only way to use mods folder.

Wait, so you mean you're using an older version of the game with ScriptHook instead of the newest version with direct editing?

Because any animated functions on a car don't usually work without their respective patch. The X80 Proto's aero flaps (and the same feature used on new Huayra mods) don't work on FiveReborn which is an older version. However, if the lights DO work as Tropos on the old version then that is definitely odd.

No, I have the latest version but without Scripthook. And that's why I can't check original Tropos.

So then back to my other question, which way are you modifying the game without ScriptHook/mods folder? Because any time I edit an archive, regardless of which it is, I get the "game data corrupt" message. The mods folder works fine but of course it's a new patch so I can't use that.

EDIT: As in, what did you do to create "tropos2" as any attempt I make (replace a basegame car in x64e, replace it in patchday, or replace it in a new DLC with edited dlclist.xml), it crashes the game.

OpenIV.asi is ASILoader mod. It doesn't need Script Hook.

This. In this way I made already a VisualV and IVPack compatibile with Cunning Stunts.

Ah, I see. I thought ASILoader itself needed the ScriptHook.

So I've just tested it myself, replacing the Tailgater with the Tropos. It does indeed have the glitchy animation but I've noticed that even when it's glitched, the lights are still rotating instead of simply lowering like the Dukes. Surely this means that we can use the animation and flip the dummies upside down so they animate upwards, effectively nullifying the glitch?

The most important part is, what is the angle of the rotation? Could you please show some pics with both up and down states? I don't have the game installed right now.

I'll try a different vehicle - Dukes.

Nope, nothing, it isn't related to model.

40 degrees for the tropos and -6 degrees for the dukes.

I do know that, I was asking what angle the headlights were rotating when TheAdmiester replaced Tailgater with Stratos Tropos.

Probably they works like with Dukes. I'm out of ideas, what should I do to get Hakumai lights to work?

Remodel Hakumai so it doesn't have pop-up lights :))

I really hate how R* didnt add the civilian variants for most of the new cars. Cars like the brioso, tropos, the new obey, even the supers would fit nicely in traffic if it wasnt for those stupid bodykits and massive spoilers.

CP, you should mod these cars one day, they are asking to be modded to civilian versions basically.

This with exception of Tropos (b/c it's pretty standard. Only Interior is "race ready"). It also doesn't have to be CP. @Da7k you interested?
