It would take ages for me to explain why you are wrong but maybe it's just the semantic problem. You do own the game, the physical game or the data in your PC. It is yours and you can destroy it, gift it to someone else or sell it, because it is your property. You don't own the copyrights though. It's like chocolate for example or any other property. You own the chocolate and you can eat it or take a piss on it or shove it up your ass etc. Only in ancient Rome you would be 100% right.

Those license agreements are a joke. Nobody cares about license agreement, and nobody in their right mind would purge their property if they fail to comply to their so called rules.

Sorry GTAvanja but you will find it is you that is wrong, you do NOT own the game. You pay for a license to play the game but you never own the actual game at all. Now you can certainly refuse to use the license if you so wish but you are not allowed to gift it to someone or sell the game on unless it is specified in the EULA. . The fact is when you pay your £30/£40 you pay for a license to play the game under certain restrictions.

Like I said, license agreements are a joke. It's a fiction of law in a way, not in the usual way but it is. I would rather pirate all games than accept that kind of concept where I don't own what I buy. I don't give a sh*t about licenses and neither does anyone else.

Well that is your take on things that "license agreements are a joke" but the fact is when you pay your money you are paying for a license to play the game. You never own the game. When we pay for a game it is pretty clear we are paying for a license to use the game not to own the game. So if good ole street mix has such a bee in his bonnet about "renting" games then he should really stop buying and playing games completely because nearly all software is sold on a license basis.

Also you CAN buy the physical copy in stores if it has Steamworks support. And most modern day PC games do NOT get refund and/or are possible to trade in. This ain't the '90's...

Here's my opinion on this whole argument:

Shut the f*ck up and lets move onto a different subject of chat instead of calling eachother fanboys, trolls etc.

Anyone going to buy this new Worms Reloaded game? I played the originals and this just looks like an overpriced version of the old ones.

Just watch me. I never even read the EULA. That's how much I give a f*ck about the system. But that's just who I am. According to some Jung and Brigg Myers typology test I'm an INTJ (Mastermind) and I don't give a f*ck about authority biggrin.gif

Next time you do the Briggs-Myers test, notice that each type of personality has a flattering name and flattering characteristics, then realize that every person in the world fits into one of them. Not so much of a Mastermind now, are you? orly.gif

Anyway, I was actually just going to post to tell all of you to get yourselves back on topic. If you want to bitch about DRM or Steam do it somewhere else or go back to 2005 when people still bothered.

Anyone seen the recent Deus Ex 3 trailer? It's not exactly the first game.. but looks sweet anyway. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/gc-10-deus-ex/702812

1% of the world population are INTJ's though. We did this test in University so it must count for something. And no it doesn't have flattering characteristics IMO. I wish I was more of a feeler than thinker at least I would fit in better sad.gif

Anyway, I must be the only PC gamer not excited about new DeusEx. I can't shake this feeling that it will be a dumbed down for consoles.

I've heard about it, but never bothered looking on youtube and crap. Don't think it is my type of game anyway. dozingoff.gif

I've got kinda mixed feelings on it.

On one hand, I know in the back of my head that it will most certainly be dumbed down for consoles.

On the other hand there's still a glimmer of hope, and hell, it can't be any worse than Invisible War, right? (Or so I hope)

I'm still waiting on more news and trailers to get a proper footing on where I stand with it. As I said a bunch of pages back I'm more worried about how Thi4f will turn out.

Loved the first one and when I say loved it I mean I was f*cking obsessed with it. I played the first one to death and back, it was fantastic in sooooo many ways.

Then they releasede Deus Ex Invisible War and well what can I say ? I was tempted to send death threats to the developers. That pretty much killed off any interest I have in the franchise. I have seen the "cgi" trailer of Deus Ex 3 and it didn't really invoke anything in me. I get the feeling the third one will be more like the second one than the first one.

So no I can't see it being a game I will add to my collection, just another PC franchise that got sold down the river cryani.gif

Man, you have no faith. Watch the new gameplay trailer, read some interviews and check out the screens. This has a definite chance at not sucking.

I think I would sell my soul for Hitman 5 notify.gif

If I recall correctly Eidos Montreal are console developers, who usually developed for consoles beforehand, and console-players are their target audience judging by the trailers with Xbox360-buttons on them, which means it's likely the game is mapped for an Xbox 360 controller, rather than a PC, which is what PC franchises should be mapped for. Eidos Montreal are also going to develop Thief 4 after Deus Ex: Human Revolution. If DE:HR fails I know Thief 4 will.

I'm really sceptic at the same time as being full of false-hope for both games. But when it really comes down to it, they're targeting the console audience, not the original fans.

I have held a grudge against ATI for 15 years and the developers of Deus Ex 2 pissed me off a hell of a lot more than ATI did biggrin.gif . Perhaps if it starts getting a bit more attention I will have a look. But at this point in time with them aiming the game at the console market I really can't see how they can cater for both. I am not being elitist, I just think PC gamers look for different things in a game compared to console users.

PC gaming used to be where people went for proper Role-Playing Game experiences, Deus Ex a.k.a. "the thinking man's game" was just one of them. With the 6th and 7th generation of consoles (namely the Xbox and Xbox 360) becoming more "PC-lite" than actual console hardware it just makes it that much harder to have a PC exclusive title. Because publishers know that they can make more money if they release it on consoles too, but to do this they have to butcher everything about it that made it a "thinking man's game", just so 14 year olds will buy it. It happens with every PC franchise nowadays.

This isn't elitism, it's the truth.

I hate my current PC cause every time I try to do the "All hands on Deck" mission and "Rub Out" on VC my PC just crashes! I have to resort to SnP. Also can anyone do those two missions for me if you have VC for PC cause I posted it in the VC section but no one has even replied.

Here's the link to the topic and the snp link is in there too.

http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=456958

I don't care who does it as long as it gets done, please?

Sorry to having to have to put this here but I can only play VC for 5 more days before I have 2 months of not being able to play it.

Here you go. "All hands on Deck" and "Rub Out" completed.

If you're using mods or edited ini files like edited weapons etc. that might be what's causing those crashes.

And if this is your first time playing Vice City I suggest you go to YouTube and watch cinematics for these 2 missions because there are cinematics in the end of each one of those 2 missions, and a phone call from Kent Paul in between telling you that there is a price on your head.

Yeah, I heard about AoE Online.

I'm still trying to think how an MMORTS would work. Also, both of them will not doubt use GfWL.

They have released a teaser trailer for Flight :-

http://www.thebitbag.com/2010/08/16/micros...teaser-trailer/

I dunno if that is CGI or not but it looks pretty "impressive". I don't know what to make of all this sudden PC activity from Microsoft, initially I am not all that impressed. I can't say I have ever bothered with any flight sim and Age Of Empire is an online game and I prefer single player games to online games. So in reality nothing has changed for me with this "renewed" interest in the PC from Microsoft.

I don't follow.

Lots of people love AoE, and there definitely isn't enough Flight Simulators anymore.

WoW, flying over textures for no reason sounds like so much fun sarcasm.gif

I always hated flight simulators. And AoE was always a mediocre RTS. Knowing Microsoft that's about to change...to worse.

Fans of flying simulators will be happy. This still better then HAWX.

Seems like a liitle common sence is present at Microsoft because they haven't made these titles for X360 (simulators and strategies are pure PC genres).

At least it's better then pointless average shooters like GeOW or Halo.

Yeah, Age of Empires is still one of the most brilliant RTS games that is worth playing right? AoE got stale and old with the first games in my opinion... they weren't even that good.

On top of that: didn't they used to release a Flight Sim each year? This ain't anything mindblowing... it 's 'just' a Flight Sim and 'just another' Age of Empires. And they'll probably use GFWL which sucks so there's nothing exciting about the news in my opinion. I'd give a damn if they'd announce some new PC exclusive/focussed franchise that's quality and doesn't use Xboxlive for PC...

But we all know Microsoft cares too much about PC gaming for that.
