I couldn't help myself upon seeing the headlining image, a Lachesis eating an Xbox controller? Yes please.

Yeah I saw that yesterday, it was quite an interesting read. I had always assumed crossplay didn't take off primarily because MS doesn't like anything that shines a light on PC gaming and highlights it's strengths . Still at least now we have confirmation that the mouse is "da bomb"

 

Sorry to those that missed out on the D2D snafu, I had a feeling it wouldn't last for long. It is a shame that T2 won't allow DD companies to sell Mafia 2 for $2 or something it might even boost sales of Mafia 2 on the PC. I know when I fired up Mafia I was gagging to pre-order Mafia 2 but eventually common sense ruled and I am waiting for it to get cheaper (for reasons I won't go into here).

 

Don't forget though if you pre-order via steam they are giving Mafia 1 away free with any Mafia 2 pre-order (and you can download Mafia 1 straight away).

ROFL you are quite right (for some reason I never check Amazon), you could buy Mafia 1 and 2 and still be £2.50 cheaper than steam as much as I love steam you can't help but feel someone somewhere is taking the piss price wise.

Pfft jelly wouldn't even know where to find the reports let alone act on them Anyway came across another positive PC story today. It is actually an interview with the Mafia 2 developers, I was going to put it in the Mafia 2 topic but it seems more "general PC" than "Mafia 2" and besides god forbid should we mention the PC in the Mafia 2 topic .

Looks like Steam is doing a free weekend with Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West, it just popped up in my games library with 3.0 days listed next to the name.

Is the Nvidia XFX GeForce 9500 GT a decent card for semi newer games if my PC has

 

Processor:AMD Athlon II X2 215 2.7 GHZ

RAM: 3 GB

With a 64 bit Windows 7

 

And is $42 a decent price for that card?

I got roughly 40-50fps on lowest graphics with Crysis at almost the same resolution. GTA4 can be played on medium reflections, textures etc but low sliders at around 20-40fps too.

Windows 7 is the best for gaming at the moment.

 

Nvidia's top cards are the GTX 480 and the GTX 470.

ATI's flagship is the 5970, followed by 5870 and 5850.

Windows 7 doesn't have any problems with new games but some old games may not work with it out of the box. There's almost always a way to get it working though.

 

The fastest video card available right now is the HD5970 which is a dual GPU card. The fastest single GPU card available right now is the GTX480.

I just ordered my new G500 mouse to replace my first edition G5. Scroll wheel is f*cked on this 3 year old mouse so I thought I'd replace it.

 

 

 

Also, jesus christ the helicopters and boats on Crysis really piss me off. Almost as much as the continuous spawning of AI.

I wonder how many million units of StarCraft 2 will sell this year.

 

I read the pre-orders broke 800,000, and that people are predicting upwards of 5 million units to be sold by year's end.

 

Companies that know how to develop good games, and also know which platforms to develop them for, can produce successful titles on the PC. Anyone who can't (or who has to release "exclusively" on console(s) first) has failed as a developer...Rockstar, I'm looking in your direction.

I have to confess I don't "get" Starcraft 2 perhaps I am missing the reason why it is so good because I am not a big fan of online multiplayer ? I am not dissing the game I am sure those that do enjoy Starcraft consider it the best game ever but for me it just looks like a bog standard RTS and it doesn't even look that "good" either (give me World In Conflict any day of the week).
