Can someone tell me what audiosurf is? I've heard of it but I'm not entirely sure on what it is and whether it is good or not.

AudioSurf is probably the most epic music-related game available on PC, in my opinion. You select a song from your personal collection, then AudioSurf calculates it's tempo, somehow seperates the instruments, and then adds clusters to the track (which represents the 'action' of the song (by going up and down like a hill)) in rhythmic order. There are several modes, which I won't explain, because I don't have it at the moment and if I did, I wouldn't want to.

 

I too have got Burnout Paradise. My takedown record is 36 (not 38, whoops ), airtime record is 3.69, drift record - around 200 yards and progress complete - 33%.

 

Question: How to get Demolition Racer to run on Windows XP? I installed it, but it just crashed. I tried the compatibility thing several times to no avail. I really love this game as I've played it when I was little and loved every second of it. I still remember the days I spent listening to Boney M and racing in the track .

this game looks really good.. It makes other games look like they're in black and white. FPS is silky smooth as seen above.. All in all, the delays on this game have been worth it, unlike other games *cough*.

I found an incredible good deal on CyberPower.com for a same day shipping computer (http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/A64_Same_Day/) and I have added the 580 watt power supply, Nvidia 7200 GeForce, and a few freebies. I plan to buy a new 9800GTX a couple of months after I buy this beast.

 

I wouldn't call it a beast if it has a bloody 9400 GT, why not get a good gaming PC built by Professionals?

I am giving it the 7200, then waiting to buy the 9800GTX,

Why go through all that hassle? The 7200 is also aged and crap, just get a good system built by Professionals.

That actually look's really nice and I haven't played Burnout in a while, might get it at some point. What FPS are you getting on that then, solid 60? It's on the screenshots. >_<

Any Command and Conquer fans out there? I feel like playing a good RTS, but I don't know whether to get Red Alert 3 or C&C3, any personal recommendations?

@kingvercetti: I'd recommend Command & Conquer Generals and the expansion pack. I love it. It is the best RTS game I've ever played. It's not that hard either (well, on Easy/Normal level it isn't, obviously ).

I went for a look in my local game shops and went one better and got The C&C Saga, £20 for C&C The First Decade and C&C3 in one box, so that's pretty much every game except Red Alert 3. Really good deal, here's hoping it's money well spent.

Does anyone know of any good casual puzzle games for PC? I've become addicted to most of the top-notch quality puzzle games on my ipod touch (the plateau, rolando, topple, Mono space, Edge and the sort)

 

So far I've got I-Fluid ( a physx game ) and world of goo. Both seem really good.

Why not just give us a budget and we can get you the best. There are sites that let you customize the PC and they build it for ya too .

It's a sidescroller, and you're a truck and you use explosives to jump in the air and you hit planes and stuff to make them blow up and you try to stay in the air as long as possible and get a streak of how many objects you can get without touching the ground. I've searched a few flash game sites but came up with nothing. Anythings appreciated.

Since everybody's ignoring me in the GTA4PC section, maybe some of you gents could help me out.

 

 

OK, I have this "new" problem. With "Late checkout" mission. I.e. it won't run. As soon as you get to the hotel, the game start to load and hangs. I tried...

 

* retail version of the game

* both 1.0.1.0 and 1.0.2.0 versions. Haven't tried it on a clean install, though.

* both 9.1 and 8.12 Catalyst versions

 

on a fresh (installed on Friday) and clean Vista.

 

As a side note, I uploaded my savegame, if anyone would be willing to pass this mission, save and upload the file back to me I would be really thankful. It's a small download, less then 50k. You are probably going to need some xlive wrapper for this to work. Just load, you'll be in the safehaouse on East Park (or whatever it's called) and go the the RB for the mission, then drive to the hotel. I don't know what happens next

I was wondering what decent 1st person shooters are out there for PC's? Thing is, it's not a new PC, and I dont know what it can run really. It runs GTA3 and Vice City fine, I also bought Hitman Contracts and Hidden and Dangerous earlier, but after uninstalling both, I am bored. Didnt really get "hooked" by the game.

 

I was thinking Wolfenstien Enemy Territory or Counter Strike, but I dont know if Counter Strike has offline play, as the PC I'll be putting it on doesnt have internet (yet).

 

What other games are out there that should run on a normal PC?

The game looks awesome, i'm 50% already in it. Love the whole burnout feel (played it on PS2) and loving the vehicle design. The handling is a bit weird, uncontrollable at low speed (I like driving around the map...)

 

I don't see any SSAO in your photos. I love the effect, I can run the game maxed out at 2x AA with no SSAO at 1280x960 correctly, but SSAO kills it.

 

Also, for some reason, when I paste a screen from this game (took it with print screen) it appears all black

No, I've not. 1) Because, I can't find a trustable source of information, that states, that one exists. 2) I couldn't find any working links.

Also, was that link you gave for me? If so, what does it have to do with anything?

@ jost, yeah Those where on medium settings (ingame not from the launcher ).. I only found out after taking those pics that the game had in-game settings.. The menu layout is so weird.. Never had like 4 different menus in the pause screen..

 

 

What exactly is SSAO? I have it enabled right now, didnt see any difference both in FPS and graphic effects.

I am looking for a maximum of $630, give or take a few dollars. Needs: Quad Core CPU (AMD), 2 GB of RAM, Vista Home Premium x64, good cooling, and large enough case. Everything else I don't really need is a good graphics card, large hard drive, and that covers it.
