All Valve games can't be launch, they're all stuck on the 'Preparing To Launch' box. How to fix this?

 

Just bought Garry's Mod too for 2.49, but I can't play it since I can't even launch it.

Do you have any other Valve games installed, namely Half Life 2 and it's episodes? It'd be kind of hard for GMod to run without the vast majority of it's required resources.

Well I got Portal, Portal 2, TF2, HL2: Deathmatch, HL2: Lost Coast. As for the original HL2, no I don't have it. Do I need to have it?

 

Be in mind that all of those games I listed above can't be launch. While other games can...

hmmm, i just lack certain logics...what I ment is, they paid for bundle #3, they got their games (money got given to charity etc but that's not my point) now others can pay for bundle #4, get the games of #4 and get the games of #3 for free.

 

not everyone uses the humble bundle to give to charity (I always pay over average though, before you think I donate 0,01 and leave)

So apperently I got a free copy of Devil May Cry 3 on steam for completing those chosen achievements. Didn't know that could happen. Nonetheless, I'm not complaining for free games.

I don't get it. With all these awesome Steam sales and free games why would anyone want to play on a console? Gamepad? PC has gamepad support. TV? You can hook PC to a big ass TV if you like. Games have to be patched and installed on consoles too these days. Not to mention the inferior graphics. So where the f*ck is the advantage? What is the appeal? Especially on Xbox where you have to pay to play online? How can people be so f*ckin' stupid?

I do this, though soon I'm getting a monitor because I prefer them. You also missed out lack of modding.

 

There's also the fact that PCs are apparently more complicated to use. Though they're really not if you aren't a complete moron. One common thing I hear against PC gaming is drivers. How hard is it to download and install something though, really?

Plus consoles have a larger failure rate than PCs do generally, and PCs are much easier to fix since you don't need to buy an entirely new system.

 

I think the main problem is that they can just plug in and play with consoles. They don't want to set graphics options, install the games/drivers themselves; basically they don't want to do much. I suppose that's a good enough argument if you don't have as much time for gaming, despite getting the vastly inferior experience.

Because with a console you just put the disk in and play. No need to worry about drivers, hardware, updates, DRM, background programs.. etc.

 

Short and sweet: It's much more convenient for someone that doesn't want any bullsh*t when they feel like playing games and are prepared to sacrifice graphics and other factors just for that added convenience.

They even give free games? I read about it but from ~9 achievements didn't get any so I wasn't sure about games.

That's not the fault of PC's. That the fault of developers. If more people realized that PC is the best platform, developers would make more optimized games on PC.
