Okay, I'm confused. How does having the requirement of a constant internet connection combat piracy in any way?

If someone pirates the game, they will be using a crack to stop that DRM so it's the pirates who will be getting the better experience since they won't have internet problems interrupting them.

In fact, any form of DRM is practically useless, since it's the pirates who won't be the ones getting pestered by it. And in the end, most people who pirate games don't intend on buying the games, so just let them f*cking pirate the damn games. Us honest folk still purchase them but we're getting punished for it with f*cktard DRM such as this crap.

In other news, Ubisoft believe their DRM to be a success.

God damn motherf*cking insane retards.

I bought AC2.

Then I cracked it.

tounge2.gif

Just goes to show the extent of its uselessness. It's the people who don't know about cracks and bought the game who are getting the sh*t.

I just won't buy their games if I have to go and get a crack just to play it properly. Idiots.

Even if you have a legit game, cracks are good to use.

Why? Because it gets rid of the bloatware that the devs include (DRM, disc being needed to be inserted for no f*cking reason), etc.

God damn motherf*cking insane retards.

Retards? Apparently AC2 sold better on PC than AC1. Because "boycott" worked....Just like L4D2 and MW2 boycotts.

P.S. From Dust is NOT using always online.

Just curious, how is this related to me calling Ubisoft retards because they believe their DRM to be a success?

People were buying the game anyway plus "a clear reduction in piracy of our titles".

I fail to see how they're retards.

Really?

Yup, because they know exactly how many people are pirating their games, just like Crytek know about the billions who pirated Crysis. You also do know that the majority of the AC2 DRM was eventually removed right?

They're delusional.

I find it funny that your PC elitism is so obvious and imposed upon people in console related topics but you're turning a blind eye on this most likely huge failure of a DRM which they believe works.

Why should all PC gamers jump into the Ubisoft DRM flambait train? Some don't care about it.

I enjoy the game itself and don't care about DRM it until it causes me trouble. Then I crack it and problem eliminates. Simple.

They're delusional.

I don't defend them but maybe they had some goal and they reached it with DRM?

I don't give a sh*t about DRM. I can't say I've ever had a problem with it. Though that may be because I only own about 4 games on disk, and all the rest are on Steam which appears to have it's own dedicated DRM and IA system and means you aren't stuck with all the bollocks that the producers dump onto disks. It's not perfect but at least you can play things offline that otherwise would require a functioning internet connection. With the obvious exception of things like GTA IV with their idiotic reliance on the barely functioning pile of faeces which is GFW-L.

AMD really needs to get off it's ass and get Bulldozer out soon.

Intel's new CPU prices are f*cking retarded to say the least. $184 for the cheapest quad?! WTF

Bulldozer is out in August, I think?

I have a feeling it is going to be a flop, like the other CPUs AMD have built hype for.. like the x6.

To be honest it seems like AMD is going to take the lead this time around.

If they don't, they might as well forget about the CPU market and pull out. Because Intel is dominating the low end, mid end and the high end markets.

I thought it got pushed back to October?

Either way, I'm stoked for it. Going to save up my loose change and do a 990FX Sabretooth/32GB RAM/Octa-core/dual GTX570 build when I can afford it. Oooh yes.

No-one will really know it's performance until it's released, but the "leaked" stuff indicates performance something like 20% higher than the equivalent Sandy Bridge quads (benchmark claims here). That might well be horse-sh*t, it might well be accurate. In theory, core-for-core processing performance should be roughly similar according to most of what I've read on the subject. The question will be whether it can match the SB/IB/2011 processors on other aspects rather than just core-for-core performance.

I reckon IB is going to be catastrophically expensive, as they're not replacing SB with it and the top-whack SB processors are already £250+ in quad-core format. Drop down to the 21nm process plus double the core count, you could be seeing double that easily.

I'd rather wait for Intel Ivy Bridge in January, considering Bulldozer is only meant to be the Sandy Bridge killer. Ivy Bridge will have 6 and 8 cores too.

Don't like the red menus, wish it were just black & silver like the old Diablos.

But then I guess I just hate it because its different. Should be a great game.. if they get the soundtrack right. biggrin.gif

Diablo 3 also will have always online DRM:

http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/08/01/diablo-3...played-offline/

What the f*ck, why can they not release a game that doesn't require me tied to the internet to play it? I hated that with UBISofts settlers, the moment the internet went down I lost access to the game and didn't even get chance to save it.

They really need to learn not to waste money on stuff like that, because those that want to pirate it already have done. All they are affecting are their customers who actually buy the game.

DRM will kill the PC Games industry, if it already hasn't done.

Diablo 3, eh? Well, another game off of my "to buy" list. Let's see who will have a better experience with it, pirates of legitimate customers.

I can understand with it for Multiplayer, but at least Starcraft2 had a offline mode for campaign play if that was all you were into.

The Diablo series is awesome, so regardless of DRM or not, I'll still end up getting it, and knowing that Blizzard will do an excellent job with the game.

On the subject of Starcraft II, is anyone up for a game at any point? I haven't played it in ages.

In the past Blizzard has always been quick on the trigger(when it came to expansion release), I can't see a reason why they wouldn't release HotS soon.

They probably will do a fantastic job making the game. But as long as they make it easier for pirates to play than it is for legitimate customers, they have a problem. And piracy is not that problem.

If a PC gamer is willing to spend thousands of dollars (or euros or whatever) on a PC, and pay every month for internet connection, he probably has the money to buy the game. And he probably would buy the game. But as long as legitimate customers are treated like criminals, it's easier to just be a criminal and get that over with. You have to respect your customers. You have to invest in them. Reward them instead of punishing them. I don't give a sh*t how good the game is. If pirates have a better experience paying absolutely nothing, why should I pay to have a lousy experience? My internet connection has been known to drop every once in a while. So no, I will never buy a game if I can't play it any time I want. And neither should anyone else. How come no one talks about console piracy anyway?

I think they'll invest much more in protection than Ubisoft. But also it'll be a very big challenge for crackers so it's not like this game won't be cracked.

Well why not release it on consoles then, and forget all about PC? Because I honestly don't know which self-respecting PC gamer will buy this game.

Do you people actually make a significant effort to do nothing but bitch and moan about insignificant things?

I take it you've never played either of the previous Diablos or else you'd know that all the modding (and through it, hacking) of either of those games actually only ever ruined the experiences. I don't blame Blizzard, they deal with people constantly trying to hack and ruin their games from the inside out and thus modding becomes a serious issue, especially when the in-game world involves transfers of real money.

Quit jumping to reckless conclusions and demonizing everything that doesn't conform to your exact expectations.
