Yeah, I only discovered the Stalker series late last year and I instantly fell in love, despite the datedness of SoC (even before it was released, due to delays). Really special atmosphere/lore mainly.

GOG.com has just released roller coaster tycoon with both of it's expansions. I have fond memories of this game and i bought it as soon as i seen it. goodbye life at least for a few hundred hours.

Wow, Rockstar Collection (12 games, including IV and EFLC) on steam costs almost same price as IV+EFLC together. If somebody wanted to buy that, it's perfect to do so now.

 

Sadly I got 7 games already and it would be waste of money for me.

 

Well, CS:Source is also cheap, but Cities XL seems to be best price drop for me. Sadly, not interested in it..

Haven't you played it yet? Get it. It's a great game with a brilliant atmosphere and an interesting take on Fallout lore. The main RPG mechanics are a lot more unbalanced than New Vegas but the atmosphere and random encounters in the wastes are something it has over NV.

Also, after you've played through it a few times, the heavily supported mods on Fallout 3 Nexus will have you coming back for more.

 

In case nobody noticed, Fallout is my favourite series.

Well, I never understood the hype, I really had never heard of Fallout, (I led a sheltered console life) and back in 2008, Minic, Panz and few others wouldn't shut up about it.

Anyway, Just before New Vegas came out, I had just quit my job and had 2 weeks free until I started my new job. I thought I'd try it

Played it none stop pretty much. Racked up 60hrs in 2 weeks

f*ck, I'm such a pussy when it comes to scary games. Can't get myself to play Bioshock at night. Those f*cking splicers keep entering in the rooms from behind so they always scare the sh*t out of me 

Try the FEAR 2 demo, you'll like it.

 

Or better yet, Amnesia.

I will definetly play those whenever I feel like not sleeping for a couple weeks.

Haha I was thinking of GTA when I posted that too, but no. GTA was never a full on RPG.

 

I'm talking about a proper RPG game set during current times.

 

I was thinking about a life simulation game when I first got the idea. Something like the Sims, except in 3D and with RPG features.

 

A more RPG version of GTA would be pretty cool as well. Sandbox environment, non-linear gameplay, cars, guns, cities, etc. Would sell like hot cakes I think.

I am instantly reminded of Shenmue and it's sequel. Still pissed they didn't at-least top the series off, easily one of the best, most overlooked and underrated game series of it's generation.

I need to get doom3 again, back when I first played it didn't really want to run at all on my system so I didn't even bother, unfortunately couldn't really do anything about it I had a onboard vid card.

Plus, modding is a bit selfish. Only PC gamers can mod. Eventually, we might be able to mod the game like we currently do in TDU1, but what about the console players? Their games won't be as fun or exciting to play.

So this is for discussion of off topic (not GTA) PC games right? great. Here goes...

 

Game I particularly looking forward to atm is ArmA 3. Bohemia have always been one of the smaller developers and admittedly ArmA, and ArmA 2 have had many bugs and problems, but despite that its a series I've loved, and going by the info on ArmA 3, its looking good.

 

I was very impress by this videos from Gametrailers from E3 2011:

 

 

 

 

Now the video isn't as big and flash as those from other big name developers but the world they're creating certainly looks impressive so far, and I saw in a review from gamespot or IGN that the game is only 20% complete so it should look even better by release time.

 

The thing I love about Bohemia and ArmA is I've always loved developers who have the guts to step away from the crowd and do something different. ArmA series is very different to any other FPS game, and even despite its bugs and interface problems of the past I admire them simply for not doing yet another COD, BF etc style FPS.

 

To be honest though I actually liked the interface of previous versions, its complicated at first, but once you master it, its the fastest way I can think of to command a group of soldiers, all that's really required is some memory exercise.

I'd love to see a new city building game but Cities XL didn't do it for me either. Really wanting a new SimCity, and not that SimSocieties thing, I proper SimCity. These days I generally think EA suck and I'm not sure they always have done the best with SimCity, but still one of those old games I wish I could see a new version of now.

 

I was also a big fan of Transport Tycoon, and infact games like SimFarm, SimTower, even SimAnt, I wish EA would stop with the endless amounts of The Sims and give us new version of one of the game just mentioned, and still hope Chris Sawyer will make a return to gaming at some point.

yes I do think they suck, I dont play or like any of the games you listed. As for a new SimCity, I was kind of hoping for a new one on PC. I think there's plenty of room for improvements over SimCity 4.
