Yeah, exactly. biggrin.gif

They pack all kinds of cool stuff in there. I believe the standard edition is already bigger than most "Limited editions" the bigger publishers put out these days.

Jesus Christ. All of Valve's games for £25? Anyone who doesn't own a Valve game, get the f*ck on there now.

So, was I the only one who saw CS:S on sale earlier for like six bucks, then it changed to around thirteen? I was totally going to finally cop it as I, after the longest time, have a fair amount of money in the bank for bullsh*tting then the price changed (I'm damned certain it did) and I decided against it.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure CSS was much cheaper when the summer sale first began. Not that I care though. tounge.gif

Do these same deals last all week + new ones each day or are they all one-day deals? It's a bit of a pain for me to purchase games from Steam mid-week (atleast, before saturday).

Okay, the Oblivion Deluxe edition is on sale and I've been meaning to pick this game up for years. Yay or nay?

Edit: And sh*t, Honest Hearts is on sale. I love Steam sales.

Get Oblivion. Hundreds of hours of gameplay with awesome mods for $8. It was worth the money when it was first released.

Be glad you did because that game is weak. Hackers galore and random headshots all the time. I can't find one server where I'm not frustrated within 10 minutes of joining because it seems that everyone who plays that game has been doing so for the past decade and can play it with their eyes closed. Hell, if steam had some kind of trading system for games I would just give you my copy.

And this is why I haven't bought any Counter Strike games. If you want to have fun in it, you need to pretty much devote thousands of hours mastering it first. I don't really want to do that.

I used to dominate Counter Strike. Counter Strike 1.6 is so popular in my country it's actually a sport. I first started playing it 8 years ago, I think. You wouldn't believe how much street rep you get if you're a good CS player over here. That's why I stopped playing it. It became ridiculous. It used to be about fun, and now it's about being cool and sh*t. Now I only play online on a few servers. It's still No1 online FPS in the world after all these years. That's amazing.

Well I just finally took the plunge and bought Oblivion, with the sale ending in 30 minutes. I feel quite excited for some odd reason.

What turned me off getting obvlivion was the thought of it functioning just like Fallout 3. I can't stand the unpolished combat of that game and the engine in general.

That's what mods are for wink.gif

I installed mods that polished the combat system for Fallout 3 as well as graphical/lighting mods, community bug fixes and animation mods to fix the rest of the quirks I had with Gamebryo.

I find it hard to bring myself to play Fallout 3 any more however, due to the complete lack of balance in skills etc. and the fact that the Brotherhood are world-saving good guys.

I shouldn't have to fix a broken game myself, man. I can only give my condolences to FO3 console gamers. tounge.gif

So the new Steam deals are up, unfortunately it seems to be mostly junk or just games i already have. Though the good thing is that i can confirm most deals last all week as I suspected. smile.gif

It's not broken if you only run around tapping VATs, which is honestly pretty pointless but what most people do. And yes, my experience with FO3 on PS3 was nothing short of horrible, yet at the time I thought it was amazing; shows how far I've come since.

@Steam sales: I find it quite funny that Portal 2 is next to the Valve pack (which contains Portal 2), and P2 is only £5 cheaper. Are all of Valve's games other than that worth £5? biggrin.gif

Just Cause 2, some DLC for it, as well as KOTOR 1 and 2 for under $14.

I love good deals.

I got hl1 and the two expansions for £3, I don't know why I never bought hl before but you can't say no to a deal like that, also got kotor for £1.75 which I am happy with.

Today I bought Zombie Driver (looks .. strangely fun), Hydrophobia Prophecy (also looks pretty fun) and Alien vs Predator (because of the graphics mostly, but hopefully the game is good) for a grand total of £9.18.

avp has a good sp campaign but I didn't really enjoy the multiplayer much, some modes were fun but there aren't many people playing it anymore, then again I did get it for £30 when it came out so it's definitely worth the sale price.

Just bought Bioshock 1 & 2. Only played the first 10 mins of Bioshock 1 and never played Bioshock 2 so hope they're dope. Only 10 bucks too so pretty cheap.

This Steam sale sh*t is kinda addicting, I don't even game that much anymore but those prices.. man those prices, can't resist the urge to buy cryani.gif

Steam appears to be making gaming on PC more popular, which is very good in terms of future games being released for PC. biggrin.gif

BioShock 1 has a brilliant story and great atmosphere with some cool gameplay. The sequel mostly sucks and especially on PC, due to the high amount of annoying bugs and pointless loading pauses.

Worth the buy though.

Although I've only played the second one, I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately like d0mm said there are a few bugs and it ran pretty bad on my core 2 duo back then (my interpretation of bad is anything below 60fps tounge.gif ) but it's an otherwise great story; very atmospheric.
