@Law0070: Aside from Blur, the only other recent one I can think of is Split Second. Though, Blur is really fun and I think you'd probably like it once you get the feel of it down.

I think the pc you mentioned above will have a tough time running that game on full specs seeing as the ones posted above are "recommended" (mostly meaning the "high" settings aren't applied yet)

 

though it's strange to see such a low GPU requirement for such a nice game (saw the "total war" games at a friend of mine)

I have 9 more days of school then exams. After exams I am going to get my parent's permission to buy a few M rated games I want for my PC. Here are the ones I'm looking at-

 

Mafia II

- want Jimmy's Vendetta DLC

 

COD Modern Warfare 2

- LOVE terminal level

 

COD Black Ops

- LOVE nuketown map

- LOVE zombies

- ability to play with bots (something training, I think)

 

I have three questions. One, if I bought Mafia II as a hard copy (cheaper) and added it to my Steam library, would I be able to install the packs and DLC's? Second, which is better, Black Ops or MW2? I love Terminal and the other MW2 maps but in Black Ops you can do zombies and play against bots. However, Black ops is a good $20-$30 more. And considering my computer needs to run Mafia II's demo at the lowest settings possible, like 640*480 res, I dunno if it will be able to handle Black Ops or even MW2 for that matter. Third, if I buy one of those as a disk and link it into my Steam library, can I get the Steam achievements?

IMO ABP was much better when they were owned by Realtime Worlds. I doubt K2 did a 'better' job. Might download later on if I'm bored.

also, mafia 2 is probably more demanding than mw2 and some people have bad lag issues on black ops, I only encountered lag in black ops in multiplayer. I'd say black ops is better than mw2 but it depends and if you buy mw2 or black ops and mafia 2 on disc you can still download the dlcs and get the steam achievements.

 

APB reloaded has been so laggy it's unplayable since the open beta, I'm going to wait until the issues are fixed before I play it again, closed beta was better imo.

I think it might be a RAM problem. System Requirements have been increased a lot for the new ABP. 4 gigs of RAM... I only got 3.

I got 2 and have no problems at all, everything on max.

I think it's the OS actually. I'm on 32bit and i have problems. It also applies graphical restraints for users on 32bit. Not going to bother reinstalling my whole system and backing up all my music just to play an open beta.

Do you know if any of these packs are worth it? I heard you can get the Greaser vehicles in-game but they're very rare.

Yeah in general it's mainly recommended for 64 bit users. 32 bit users are always getting problems.

Just came back from 'playing' it and wow, the lag is amazing.

 

I tried entering a vehicle outside my spawn point, and the next thing you know, I'm teleported into the middle of the street. I need to do some tweaking.

I ususally stick to instances which have 20 crims/20 enforcers, if i'm on a 50/50 instance there is massive lag and I average at 800ms, my FPS also regularly drops to 15 on those instances.

 

I also stopped playing on Obeya because of 60 minute queue times, on a diff server now.

Is it me or the match-making system in APB has been f*cked in the last 2 days or so? When I play with friends it's okay, but when I play alone I always get a 1v2, 1v3 and 2v4 matches and can't even call backup, which in most cases ends in a disaster for me.

 

Also goddamn queues in Obeya, yesterday I waited 2 hours to get in, only to find out that servers are 80% full. I wouldn't be suprised if this is to make more people buy Premium, since you can get in instantly.

 

P.S: You can exploit the queue by entering and quitting it multiple times, you will get in instantly Doesn't always work.

Maybe having a good internet connection in APB does the trick, had a few crashes about 3-4 hours one from each other...

I been playing APB too, I dunno, it seems like a good game but the car handling for example is really really sh*tty I tried connecting an xbox 360 controller but I can't change the control layout unfortunatly. I think playing this game with a gamepad will be great.

Well I went back on to ABP today and there were a bunch of people getting kicked out in the district. Next thing you know, PUNKBUSTER kicks me out. Punkbuster is terrible...
