So, are you actually a retard or do you just pretend to be one on the internet?

 

It literally has nothing in common with Fallout 3, in fact, it's closer to an actual RPG in more senses than Fallout 3 could ever dream of. The settings have almost nothing in common bar the makeshift nature of your environment, the art style is completely contrary to Fallout's and the gameplay/shooting mechanics are so much more refined than Fallout's are I reckon they're incomparable.

 

But please, go on being an ignorant prat, it's none of my business.

Both games are pretty f*cking epic and in my opinion two of the best games ever made. But a question for all of you, I've been looking for decent "widescreen fixes" for MP1 and MP2 but the ones I found make the ingame HUD/Menus or pretty much everything look stretched horizontally (in other words not decent widescreen/16:9 ratio).

 

Others have any luck? Is the 'STEAM VERSION' any better?

No way to fix that, unless there happens to be a mod that adds widescreen textures for the HUD and menus, or some sort of related fix. The game was designed to work solely with 4:3 resolutions (much like most games before 06 or so) so, chances are, you'll either have to play it in 4:3 or deal with the stretching.

Bought both of them, too 3,47€ for both Max Payne games is a pretty f*cking nice deal.

 

There was something else I had to say but... Oh yeah! Bowserchomp, GDIF.

 

EDIT: And today GTA, GTAII, GTAIII, Vice City and San Andreas for 7,49€. Steam rules.

I thought the multiplayer was great fun. However it was overshadowed by the constant bugs and connection issues.

 

You're stats don't save if you have for example played 5 games in a single server and then get disconnected (which usually happens for no reason). This annoyed me to the point where I just stopped playing.

I got Crysis 2 and never even touched multiplayer. From what I have seen it is nothing spectacular.

FINALLY, PAYBACK!

 

I tried reactivating my Half-Life CD key on Steam ages ago. I bought the game on release in 1998. Guess what? Code didn't work. Some douchenugget has apparently used the code beforehand, I guess some keygen generated mine by chance or something. Reasoning with Valve that the key was in fact mine required an inordinate amount of verification for what it was worth, so I never bothered.

 

Reading the Wikipedia article for Gunman Chronicles by chance;

 

 

Just like the games and mods developed by Valve at the time, Gunman Chronicles used WON Server technology for online multiplayer. However, after the official closing down of these servers on July 26, 2004, the game was never given an alternative method to play online, leaving its community in state of abandonment. Rewolf, the company behind the game, was dissolved and never released a patch to correct designing mistakes; Sierra closed its official forum and the game was never released on Steam. There is however a 3rd party port to steam, called Gunman to Steam Patch, which is still available for download and use.

 

As previously mentioned, unlike the popular Half-Life 1 mods, Gunman Chronicles has never been officially released on Steam. However, redeeming a Gunman Chronicles CD-key on Steam gives access to a "Half-Life Platinum Pack" that includes Half-Life 1 and several add-ons: Blue Shift, Half-Life Deathmatch, Opposing Force, Team Fortress Classic, Ricochet and Day of Defeat, but not Gunman Chronicles.

 

Gunman was a relatively fun game that I bought solely because the box art was a variant of the Half-Life box art.

 

So now I have not only HL and HL:OF including mods, but also Blue Shift, which I actually never got around to buying. An unintended, but well-deserved, make-up for my grievances. Thanks, uh, Valve.
