My Q8400 stutters pretty damn badly on IV and ArmaII, i have it overclocked to 3Ghz, any chance i could get that any higher on the stock cooler?

I wouldn't do that if I were you. Third party coolers aren't that expensive and you really don't need one of those coolers with a huge heatsinks. All you need is one of them shiny DuOrb coolers and it would be cool if you knew how what lapping is. Your CPU will be grateful. If you don't destroy it in the process of lapping of course.

Get a Hyper 212+ cooler. The best budget heatsink available and does wonders on temps. It's only £15.

 

 

Be weary though that with most coolers you'll need to take the motherboard out to install the backplate.

Finally the AI is aggresive!! I'm playing as the Date clan on hard/hard.. Should have started on medium/medium...

yeah im playing with one of the supposed easy factions the SHimazu and the AI is very aggressive. Rome was not that bad but i feel like in Shogun there are a lot (maybe even excessive?) amounts of rebellions and revolts.

I don't know about excessive... Because it was a very unstable era and revolts were really common if you look at history.

 

But for me it's fun, Rome was also one of my favorites but the change in the AI makes this one my new best friend for a couple of months... My wife will be thrilled...

I'm not trembling when I watch that crap. If Microsoft can kill off Ensemble Studios and play a large part in the destruction of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, then they can easily kill off peoples' time and brain cells.

I asked myself the same question when they released the XBox. They're obsessed with it just like Steve Jobs is obsessed with the letter i. Both letters look stupid and start to wear on sane peoples' nerves once they've been used in a "Hey, aren't we cool?"-fashion more than once.

I have just this minute linked my steam account to raptr.com. Don't know if you all read the raptr thread that Long Haired Freaky Guy posted a while back. The connection is pretty f*cking deep, with loads of info coming in on who's doing what in which game. It even connects to solitaire lol.

"Europa Universalis 3: Chronicles" has been released a couple of days ago I think. It's a version with all of the previous expansions. If you crave for a good micromanagement strategy game that requires actual brain to play then I suggest you get it.

Hopefully they would have learned their mistakes. Sure they had 3 years to book down to learn & improve. I'm confident they can produce an optimized, quality product this time around.

But Max Payne 3 will be a linear game, not a free roaming one so there will be no excuses if the game turns out to be a bloody mess.

The RAGE engine is a lot like the Gamebryo engine to me; very buggy and isn't very good graphically but mods improve it tenfold.

 

The problem is that only the company using the later supported the PC platform to an extent whilst the former company forgets about us.

 

The Housers say they want to create amazing gaming experiences for gamers. I think they mean console gamers /Red Dead Redpemtion

Only because most PC gamers are too stubborn or elitist to turn their graphics down in favour of FPS.

 

I for one prefer my sliders at around 20 but running at 60fps on GTA4, rather than them at 80 for 30fps.
