Hm lets see there was the god awful Bully (with performance that made GTA 4 look like lightning)

So the game is awful because it's it unoptimized a little? Bully is a masterpiece.

 

About MP3 - I like how people judging the game already by a few screenshots and 1/4 of the artwork.

That's tastes for you, I found Bully to be dull. Wouldn't call it a masterpiece if it was the only game around in the last ten years.

Hm I am a fool am I ? Let's see Bully has an average review score of just 69 out of 100, Manhunt 2 has an average review score of around 63 out of 100. You wanted me to show you when Rockstar released bad games, well there are two right there. That is BEFORE you even get into the technical aspects of the game. Infact outside of GTA 4 and RDR most of Rockstars games are considered pretty mediocre. I am not the fool here the only fools are those that think Rockstar can do no wrong no matter what bullsh*t they pull or produce.

We are not talking "a little unoptimised" we are talking next to totally unplayable, if a game can not be played at a basic level it cannot be called a masterpiece. Bully barely achieves a playable 30fps on decent hardware it is more intensive than Crysis. But then why am I arguing with you ? You refuse to accept Rockstar can do anything wrong, Bully was as far removed from a "masterpiece" as you can get but that won't convince you.

We live in an age where review scores are highly inflated, most decent games these days get around 80 out of 100 below 80 you start to enter dodgy territory and below 70 you enter the dregs of the computer gaming world. So yes games scoring just 69 and 63 are considered mediocre and both Bully and Manhunt 2 are considered mediocre by the vast majority of the gaming public. The only people that consider those two games "good" are people that will not hear a single bad word against Rockstar no matter how much bullsh*t they pull.

Oh great so if I have a different opinion than I'm wrong? I doubt that you'll ever realize that we call Bully a nice game because we liked it.

Playable for me and for many others. And it's not a self-suggestion, it's a fact.

 

About reviews - average PS2 score - 86. So that proves (for people who still trust scores) that game is OK.

I personally wouldn't trust a (console) review as far as I can throw it, but rightly you say, it's a good measure for people who go with scores. I think usually the best deal is to go with the reviewer, not the review as if you follow someones work, you can get a feeling what you'd think about the subject if you were in his shoes.

I actually loved Bully. One of the most innovative games I've played. It's playable on my system maxed out at 1024x768 (max res. for my monitor) but I've never checked the FPS with Fraps or anything (haven't had the need to).

 

IV was really good too, putting the optimisation issues aside, the only thing that kept it from being perfect in my books was a good storyline.

I loved bully too, but I bought it in the steam sales, with high hopes but let down by its really f*cking awful controls.

He's talking int terms of how good the game was, without taking performance into account. If you discount the graphics and different control system, and yes, the awful PC performance, Bully is the same on PS2 as it is on PC, the same storyline, characters, gameplay, etc, etc (Although I know the PC version is the Scholarship Edition, but they're hardly different). It's just a matter of how you judge the game. I personally judge my games on how good their gameplay, story, immersion factor is. This is probably bred from watching movies and reading books before I started to really care about games, because in a book or movie, the performance doesn't count, it's all about the story and everything else that surrounds it. I see that a lot of PC gamers heavily factor in how well a game runs and looks, as well as how good it is in terms of its story etc. Obviously if a PC game runs at an unmanageable FPS, then it's unratable, but that doesn't change how hypothetically good the story is. Of course I take the graphics and performance into account, but it doesn't ruin a game for me if they're crap, otherwise I'd never play GTA: Chinatown Wars for example.

They should make a working support forum (or be much more active here) instead of sitting on Twitter and searching for random sh*t tweets about RDR.

EA really seem to be taking a slight notice to PC gaming. Hope they continue to get better.

At least they are releasing games on PC. EA was never evil in my book. Just confused, but they release too many games instead of few better ones. And they own Bioware and they let them do what they do best.

I hate their stance on games such as EA Sport's games/The Sims e.g. new game with minimal changes every year or constant crappy expansion packs which cost at sh*t load.

 

But as a publisher with minimal involvement I don't mind them.

It's a beta so who gives a crap. Those screens look great though.

EDIT: sh*t. It seems the whole source code was released. The entire game and DRM code and everything. This is going to hurt Crytek a lot. All of their hard work and then something like this happens. We should be lucky if they ever release anything on PC after this.

It's their problem it got leaked. It's not like on of the scene groups walked into the Crytek BETA testing room and stole the entire game, someone on the inside must be responsible.
