News guys!

German retailer WOG.ch (http://www.wog.ch) listed PC version of Red Dead Redemption set for 2011!

Game is also available for pre-order.

Check it out: http://www.wog.ch/index.cfm/details/pro ... Redemption

Note: Cover is fake, but the same one is used for the XBOX 360 version of a game too, here: http://www.wog.ch/index.cfm/details/pro ... Redemption

I get an error message or... something, whenever trying to view the page.

If it's true, then that certainly is an awesome development.

Here's a link that works: http://www.wog.ch/index.cfm/details/produc...Dead-Redemption

I hope it's true I really really hope it's true.

f*cking awesome.

So long as it doesn't demand an Octo-core or some sh*t I'm (potentially) excited as all holy hell.

Haha, it should run loads better considering there isn't constant city eveywhere around you, even on the unoptimized engine.

Still, I am super excited for this if it is true.

edit-

one thing that makes me wonder why there is only 16 player multiplayer o_0

I still can't feel the RDR hype, it just doesn't tickle me. I have seen some AC Brotherhood lately and if UBI wasn't such a gaping rectum, I'd consider getting it, it does seem really nice. It's a shame UBI needed three goes to make the game right, but what can you do. The only thing I can't swallow with that game is just plain terrible English-Italian, whoever decided to go with those voice actors should be put down. I'm guessing it's the same person responsible for Niko's voice actor ph34r.gif

I'm willing to bet RDR will be released for PC confused.gif Just like GTAIV, practically without any big announcement.

They'll learn not to forget us... just give them time... I personally would like to see RDR for PC, any open world game is welcome on my book... Plus points if you're free to take choices...

Firstly I would be very careful about relying on retailers for anything but even if that is true you have to laugh at the pricing. I wonder what ever happened to the old fashioned "PC games are cheaper because there is no console royalty fee" ? The game costs Sfr 59.00 on the console but it is Sfr 75.00 for the PC version.

yeah 60 bucks on PC now....jesus thats a lot of money, and i thought a PS2 game back in the day for 49.99 was really expensive.. sarcasm.gif

Spot on. An insult to anyone who understands the language. The same goes for most Russian terrorists/assassins/etc though.

On a related note, I just found out which games are really not fit for Steam - big ass ones, like EFLC.

Jesus, it took my mate 2 days to get GTA IV installed (1 day to download, another to download again due to Steam f*cking it up).

Also, why did the GTA IV Full Pack cost less than EFLC on Sunday?

My brother was gonna snag it because he thought it would be cheap (due to full pack been on sale) but it's price was still around £10 more than Full pack (GTA IV + EFLC). Lol wut.

I got EFLC for 66% off, some 10€ about a month back. This past deal was region locked but it sure did hit a sweet spot with the entire package for less then 9€.

Now it's time to get back to harsh reality and kiss them nice offers goodbye, at least till spring time.

BTW, EFLC on 57%.

I have a candidate for the wall of shame, the candidate is none other than Crytek. If ever there was a company that sold the PC platform down the river and hopped into the console manufacturers pockets it has to be Crytek. I came across this PDF today :-

http://www.zuse.hessen.de/mm/Konrad_Zuse_K...Yerli_Final.pdf

The particular page of the PDF that interested me was this page :-

user posted image

What I find interesting about this page is the number of units sold. According to this PDF they sold 2.5 million copies of FarCry, 3 million copies of Crysis and 1.5 million copies of the expansion Crysis Warhead. Yet despite all this support that PC gamers have shown Crytek we get sh*t like this from them :-

"For one sale there are 15 to 20 pirates and pirate versions, and that's a big shame for the PC industry."

http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/53357

Yeah right Cevat Yerli if it wasn't for Piracy you would have sold between 45 and 60 million copies of your game on the PC (that is essentially what he is saying here) sarcasm.gif

Now as we all know Crytek is now multiplatform, I don't particularly have a problem with that myself. The PC is an open platform and developers are free to do what they like. It is one of the strengths and weaknesses of the PC platform, but earlier this year Crytek announced they are doing an Xbox 360 exclusive game :-

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/crytek-d...e-xbox-360-game

So they have gone from selling massive quantities of software on the PC to doing exclusives for Microsofts console, if that isn't "selling out" I don't know what is.

I think we should wait until they sell more than once, since every game company will sell themselves at one point, even if I hope Valve does not... which is kinda sad, actually...

Still, it's one god damn bad step in my book...

Unless in case of exceptional good beheaviour, which is to say... A badass PC exclusive/Excelent game and not a shoddy port...

speaking of crysis' performance, is there any way which I can run a lower resolution without getting black edges on the screen, I have to run this game at low settings and it still lags because I have to use a high resolution, but my graphics card should arrive tomorrow so I'll see if I get better frame rates then.

Yes. Use a monitor, not a TV.

IIRC, crysis on PC (cryengine 2) still looks better than crysis 2 on consoles (cryengine 3) so I wonder how CE3 on pc will be.

let me find the video

@oldage: that video is pretty old. Note the framerate issues on the consoles, meaning the graphics will be worse on the real thing with a steady framerate. tounge.gif

I bought Medal of Honour: Airbourne a couple of days ago, really excited about it. Looks awesome for some reason, despite being from 2007. And the fact it's on the heavily tweakable UT3 engine, I think I'll like it alot.

I've heard mixed opinions on it. I remember playing the demo on my friend's Xbox awhile back and enjoying it a-lot. But everyone I talk to about it didn't seem to enjoy it for one reason or another. I plan on picking it up at some point, when I have an actual system instead of a half-cocked jury-rigged laptop hooked up to high-end peripherals.

As a miniature WWII buff, just reading about Airborne on Wikipedia makes me want to slit my wrists.
