Copytco: In the interview found in the Net you said that “the game is being created at complitely new engine”.

Is it brand new version of X-Ray, or freshly designed technology?

Sasha Nikolsky: It is a totally brand new engine.

C: Stalker 2 was told to be multiplatform game. Do you plan to develop in parallel both PC and consoles to cut down restrictions between platforms?

SN: We are developing Stalker 2 for PC and then it will be ported to console. PC is our favorite platform.

C: What about modders? Is support (meaning: kits and engine flexibility) for mods and modders going to be better than in previous games? Mods bring second youth to many games, just look at Gothic or Half-Life 2…

SN: We appreciate the modding community and we have some very talent and passionate modders. It is very important to us that the modding community can still get enjoyment from Stalker 2.

C: Do you plan to develop better multiplayer to finally use its potential?

SN: Our plan is to make every aspect of Stalker better. Single player, Multiplayer… everything. The main part about Stalker is the single player mode. However, we do want Multiplayer to be a bigger part of Stalker 2 as well. There will be the obvious normal game modes, like Death Match, Artifact Hunt, etc… and maybe a few suprises too. wink.gif

C: Are there any chances that Stalker 2 would go rather into RPG game, notconsidering mechanics, but the way the story is told, so non-linear plot, lots of moral wrinkles?

SN: The story in Stalker is very important. There will be a main quest of course but you will also be able to do what you like and have moral choices. Every aspect of subquests and stories will be more complex and play a bigger role on what the player experiences.

Black ops or New vegas? I cant decide D:

If you're on PC, black ops isn't worth the miss.

the 4870x2? if you're upgrading get the 69XX .. an x2 can keep up with a 5870 and 6870 in certain games, heck it can even match the GTX480. I only got this cause it killed itself for unknown reasons.

You don't care about atmosphere and you want to shoot everything that moves (especially if they appear to be 12 year old idiots who think the current Call of Duty franchise is the pinnacle of FPS gaming) then go for Black Ops.

If you want a singleplayergame with endless depth, sidequests, extremely high replayvalue, interesting atmosphere and a overall length of a 120 + hours... go for New Vegas.

Get both actually.

I might just get both.

ALSO, f*ck MY LIFE.

I unistalled a game on my D drive that wasn't related to steam and it was like "HERP, f*ck YOU" and deleted about 200GB worth of steam games. Atleast most of the valve games are still there.

120 hours if you just do two playthroughts and so leave out two possible endings and lots of different styles... I'd dare to say 300 hours, which is what it took me to get bored in F3 before I beggan modding...

Gotta love modding, that's why our PC is second to none

I had a situation like that.. except the uninstaller decided to begin deleting everying on C:\ drive. tounge.gif

It deleted all my music, pictures and documents. Luckily I used Recuva to get all of it back quickly. ;o

Bit late for that sh*t now. Nevermind, most of the games that were removed, I never play anyway. Bought Black cops as well. I hope I don't regret it.

What does tessellation even have an effect on? I failed to notice a difference on most textures and surfaces.

Round edges. Mostly.

Nothing to write home about.

yeah i knew what it is ever since Unigine Heaven was released but I don't see what it does on Metro.. I've taken some comparison images and they look exactly the same.

I honestly thought the same myself. I guess the uninstaller had a corrupted directory ID or something so it just deleted the root location.. ie c:\.

f*ck me man. I'm actually replaying James Bond 007: Blood Stone. I didn't know that I'll like the game that much. IMO the opening song alone is worth the money. It's actually better than most Bond songs

But don't take my word for it I'm a Bond nerd.

Yeah, probably it stores the wrong directory and starts deleting like there is no tomorrow, everything that's not bolt shut goes away. I had the same issue one, with an old HL installer (uninstaller).

Can anyone tell me what the difference between these 2 cards are and which one should be better? They look the same just one about €60 cheaper. I need to make up my mind soon on what card i'm getting. lol.gif

Or maybe a 5850 would be better at the same price?

Very little difference between them.

Might be worth noting that one of the higher range GTX460's (Gainward/XFX ect) running a factory overclock is only a tiny amount behind the production spec GTX470 in terms of performance and much cheaper. I chose to save the £50-odd and get a GTX460 and have yet to find a single thing it doesn't destroy at 1920x1080 with AA turned up to 8x.

That's the stuff. Just avoid the 465 like the plague. Like a 460, but slower, older and more expensive.

Yeah i've heard how the 465 is a neutered bastard child version of the 470.

Thanks for the advice, going to get this as soon as possible. The benchmarks are very impressive. Since i'm playing in 1440 x 900 there should be even more performance boost. It's also about €10 more expensive the the original 460. Bargain in my book. blush.gif

I think I paid less than £150 for my Gainward GTX460, including shipping. IT247 gets a big thumbs up in my book.

Speaking of DDR3 RAM, I've got 4GB of Corsair Dominator 1333Mhz stuff in my rig at the moment. Any real point bumping that up to 8GB- or, put another way, will the performance increase be worth the absurd (£70+) price?

Tommy, don't get stuff from Elara, they're way overpriced. ebuyer.com, dabs.ie and komplett.ie is the way to go.

Thing is, i work down the road from them and i know the guys there pretty well. I my boss has special discounts from them also i think? I can't find the XLR8 version of the card on Komplett or Dabs, i'll have a look at ebuyer though.

Thanks. icon14.gif

i'm thinking of buying the 5770 as a replacement for my current card, the 4850, is this a good idea or are there any other better options that are £200 or under

I'd suggest looking at NVidia cards. The GTX460 massively outguns the 5770. Toms Hardware benchmarks say so, anyway. I picked mine up for under £150 including shipping (though it was on discount at the time) from IT247- Still on offer though currently out of stock.

*sigh*

Black Ops is another game that is ruined by low framerate because of my Core 2 Duo.

wouldn't worry too much, many people on PC (even with high end PC's) are reporting low framerates.
