Well, I was just wondering couple of days ago if a new Vampire Masquerade game will ever be made. This is kinda disappointing cause I don't play MMO's. I always believed that RPG's should have a single player mode.

If a new single-player VtM game was made it wouldn't be any good because there is no Troika to make it.

Hey Fullmetal, guess who plays racing games with a steering wheel now  wink.gif

Also, add me back on steam, I still cant believe you deleted me.

Nice one, the way they should be played. I'm not a real racing (game) fan myself though. And I never deleted you though... as far as I know it was you.

Also: Vampires the Masquerade: Bloodlines is the only VTM game I played. Enjoyed it alot eventhough it was rather short and the shooting mechanics were pretty quirky.

Civilization V seems to be decent, if you are into turn based strategies. At least there is a demo worth checking out.

hey is there any good games that just came out recently or will be coming out soon?

Be more specific. Genre? sarcasm.gif

F1 2010 came out recently, umm Civ V as mentioned, R.U.S.E is another but it being good is debatable from what I have heard......err nothing else really comes to mind right now.

Fallout: New Vegas will be out in 21 days in the US, and 23 in Europe...

At least Bethesda and in this case Obsidian release PC games at the same time as consoles... Unlike other members of the wall *Stares at MS corrupting developers*

They still deserve their place there tho...

They'll stay on the wall until they end this shameful DLC bullsh*t. Instead of working on a proper sequel they keep expanding the original game ad infinitum.

Amen... The only good DLCs are free ones, otherwise it's an excuse to charge more for the same game...

There's nothing wrong with a functional DLC system. It's not like they're ripping up a game and selling it off for parts, like 2K did with Mafia II.

I bought Fallout 3 on the day of it's release and regretted it, not that it wasn't a good game it was. However after the first DLC I got sick of piling money into the game (getting to feel the same way about Mass Effect 2). So I ended up re-buying Fallout 3 GOTY edition when it was going for £15 on steam, I learnt a valuable lesson that day. So for Fallout New Vegas I am not getting the game till I see the GOTY edition with all the DLC included. I am beginning to think I will do this with pretty much all releases in the future.

Then add EA, BioWare (ME2, Dragon Age DLCs), Square Enix, Eidos (Just Casue 2, Lara Croft DLCs), 2K Games (BioShock 2, Mafia II DLCs), Capcom (SFIV DLCs), SEGA, Creative Assembly (Total War DLCs) to that list.....

Oh and don't forget about Valve who packed all DLCs (that meant to be in the original game) into one game and called it Left 4 Dead 2 (for another $50)...

P.S. Just remembered RailSimulator.com. With its 30-40 DLCs (~$10-30 each) it must be on the top of "wall of shame"....

That's a bit redundant.

You cant say that it could have been DLC, since there is way too much content for it to be DLC.

I'm still surprised people still bitch and cry about Left 4 Dead 2. It's not like other companies do it all the time.

I wish we had a PC gamer thread that wasn't 95% bitching.   tounge.gif

I wholeheartedly agree with this wonderful Sea Mammal.

Some people wonder why others look down on PC gamers so much? Might be all the elitism and incessant crying about innocuous bullsh*t.

In real conversational news, I just got the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and it's the hardest f*cking thing I've ever played. The Stalker difficulty is harder than the hardest difficulty on most games I've played.

You do realise companies still need to make money from their franchises and not just give out a mass of free stuff (which Valve already does). If they did, they'd all go broke.

I once tried giving it a shot at a friends, easiest difficulty on Call of Prypiat... I got killed by my third encounter with mutants... damn snorks...

Also it's not like we're the only ones complaining... at least we PC Gamers can stick together enough to keep this topic stable... somewhat stable at least...

I do agree on Otter's perspective tho, as long as the DLCs aren't ripped off the main game it's not that bad... i've heard quite a lot of complains about Mafia II's DLCs... Is it really that bad?

Of course I am. My problem is bullets not going where I aim them (the whole realistic accuracy thing) and it taking ten to twenty assault rifle rounds to take down the average soldier.

Oh come on you can't seriously knock Bethesda for their Fallout 3 DLC's, to me each one was worth the price to extend the experience with truly new and extra features. Yes Bethesda won't live down the Horse Armour thing but credit where credit is due. Sure The Pitt was a bit short & Broken Steel was a bit samey but Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta made up for it.

Really? I thought Mothership Zeta was by far the worst one out of them, Operation Anchorage was crap too.

Well, don't bitch them :-

I have a idea we have a hall of shame why not a wall of fame.

Valve and CD Projekt are the ones that spring to mind

Yes, as the page clearly states, there is going to be something like that. Sadly, it will be a short list, but I'll fit big images.

About this DLC bullsh*t - I obviously can't speak of F3 DLCs as I haven't tried them and probably will not as I don't support DLC bullsthit with my time nor money. I understand that some DLCs pack more then the others, but it's always going to be a rehash of the existing content and open ended games are especially vulnerable to this kind of abuse. The only (somewhat) good DLC is free DLC and maybe those packs that go for a few €, that is if they are not putting only a few cars and sh*t inside (JC2, MII etc. terrible examples, practically you pay for something that was probably removed from the game with only intent to sell it later). Of course there is always an option not to buy it, but obviously many are buying into that sh*t so the practice is going to continue.

As far as F3 goes I think some of the mods (i.e. free "DLC") pack a lot more punch then what I've seen in the reviews about some DLC packs. And this was about a year ago, I'm sure modders managed to concoct a lot more content in the meantime.

I do but some people think that PC must get all additional content for free. Fallout 3 core game is OK enough itself. It's not like Mafia II.

Fallout DLC's are worth the dough... Modern Warfare 2 "DLC" (sh*tty mappacks) are NOT.

Having free DLC for Left 4 Dead 1/2 is brilliant and awesome, having a game butchered and sold into bits and pieces (under the name of "DLC") is pure ripoff.

Where are the days of expansion packs? I mean, jesus f*cking christ is it that hard to make decent expansion packs for games... specifically FPS games? There's no f*cking need to ask 15 dollars for a sh*tty ass mappack. I remember paying 30/25 euros for Call of Duty: United Offensive and having more than my money's worth out of it.

Oh wait I know... it would be too hard for consoles/console gamers AND it would be too fair/you'd get your money's worth out of it. Yeah ok go ahead, we don't need that. Butcher games into pieces and sell it to us. Or overprice ridiculous content.

I am tired of piece meal DLC, a good example at the moment is Mass Effect 2. If we ignore the crappy "buy 3 weapons for £3 DLC" for a moment the main DLC such as Kasumi, Overlord and Shadow Broker are hopelessly short. You can finish Kasumi in under 20 minutes (cost £4), Overlord can easily be done in 45 mins (£4) and the lastest Shadow Broker I finished in under 2 hours (cost £6). The DLC so far has felt hopelessly short and incomplete.

I miss the good ole days of decent expansions, The Lair of the Shadow Broker is a perfect example of something that was butchered to make it DLC instead of a proper expansion. You had to take on a mystery "information broker" that has remained hidden for decades. Now with such a mysterious, hidden and secretive character I was expecting an add on with lots of twists and intrigue. What we got was basically "oh he is here, lets get him, ok we got him". I really wish Bioware hadn't bothered with Kasumi or Overlord and just concentrated on doing a proper Shadow Broker Lair expansion hell I would have probably paid MORE for a proper expansion than these sh*tty bits of DLC that we have been getting.

Ah well it will get worse before it gets better, we now have companies talking about charging for actual cut scenes. I do know that DLC is starting to put me right off getting any games or at the very least it is changing my buying habits so that I wait till the WHOLE game is released before I actually buy it.

I dunno if I'm the only one, but, at least in New Vegas, I'm more looking forward to a mods by Puce Moose (Puzzle mission mods god) than DLCs... altho DLCs aren't that bad... I do know however I won't be able to wait untill GOTY comes out since that would be in a year or more... I just can't wait that much

Also, I agree on the expansion packs, my example would be Starcraft Brood War, it ads quite a lot of new Tilesets for maps, a bit more units, almost the same ammount of missions main game has, and it's a freaking expansion!
