They think that if they release it on both platforms, someone who owns a 360 would pirate it on PC. Which is bullsh*t because no one with a brain who owns a Gaming PC would own a 360.

I agree, and I know what you're talking about. But I meant publishers in general. It obviously doesn't cost much to develop a PC port of a 360 game so that's not the problem.

Right now who is up for a laugh ? because good ole MS has been at it again ... They only want to be our friend really they do. I caught this story whilst I was browsing the net on my Android phone in the Dentist waiting room (it was quite enjoyable listening to my brother screaming in agony having a tooth pulled, the only downside is I had to pay for it). Anyway here is MS's daily bullsh*t :-

Let's see a niche flight sim, an rts that has been butchered into an online only game and an xbox port that will likely arrive months after the xbox version. But wait they are NOT going to stop there (oh god please do stop there it is getting embarrassing). We can expect more, I don't know about anyone else but I am on the edge of my seat waiting to see what else MS has in store for the PC

So, the Gothic 4 demo is out and from what I've heard (haven't had a chance to play it) it's even more dumbed down than Gothic 3. Basically it's single-player WoW, like a Bethesda RPG (haters). No doubt it will sell well because it's multiplat.

The people who made the first 3 were dropped (Piranha Bytes) and they made a spiritual sequel called Risen (which is a lot more faithful to Gothic 1 and 2 than Gothic 3 was, even though they made that too), and they're making Risen 2 (which is bound to be a lot more like Gothic than Gothic 4).

 

I just hope it fails altogether so it can get out of the way.

Oh god, all the pieces of GT that make me rage are glued together. Thanks Oldage, some of my arteries in my face almost exploded.

 

GT = pure garbage. They show new footage fast but that's about it. From a professional level AND if you look at it as a real gamer, you notice how f*cking idiotic they are and how they know jack sh*t. (like most mainstream game journalism today actually...).

Fact of the matter is, he's probably right. You have to define which PC's are we talking about. Are we talking about GAMING PCs or ALL PCs there are in the world, still working today? Because different from any console, a PC can withstand the test of time and do it's originally intended job for a decade or two. The stats say about 50% of today sold PCs have Intel integrated graphics onboard. So about 50% of today's PCs are not gaming ready. But how many PCs are we talking about? A few hundred million probably, so yeah, there is a about 150 million PCs that can't run games properly and another 150 million that can. Oh my, aren't we in a tough spot

Man, am I glad this isn't coming out before 2012. My bank account and huge pile of coursework bows in gratitude to CCP.

 

Anyway, first MMO that might be awesome enough to justify sub fees? Perhaps so. If anyone can do it it's CCP. EVE is already there, if you can stomach all the geekery and the clunky UI. Hopefully this will be a 'mainstreamed' and 'lessons learned' MMO from them.

I only just found out today that Dead Rising 2 is on the PC due for release in early October, did you guys know that? It must be sh*t if you did, because no one has mentioned it. Well, unfortunately is has GFWL so that sucks.

 

 

I've ordered F1 2010 since it looks pretty good and I liked Dirt and GRID.

Front Mission Evolved looks pretty sick, I've been dying for a new mech game on the PC for awhile. Metal Rage (a free Korean online mech game) looked promising, but there hasn't been any news on the English version coming out for awhile, since the open beta dropped at the beginning of last year and no new info has appeared since.

 

A new CCP MMO? f*ck yes.

Well, I was just wondering couple of days ago if a new Vampire Masquerade game will ever be made. This is kinda disappointing cause I don't play MMO's. I always believed that RPG's should have a single player mode.
