limbfilter
Is it possible to mod the ps2 version of gta3? ie put in cars and such from vice or even mods made here...as far as I can tell the model files on ps2 and on pc are the same. I can handle burning it and everything...just wondering if anyone has tried it....
tuff_luv_capo
You'll need a cd burner and a mod chip, that's all I know
crazdhowlrmunkee
.......... You're right. It probably doesn't belong here. 1. It's near impossible to burn on cars and stuff onto your GTA3 [or Vice] DVD without ruining it. 2. I don't know how to do that. 3. Or, you could just go up to Rockstar's programmers and force them to make you a special game with both GTA3 and Vice on it. Actually, that would be pretty cool........ limbfilter
A. you don't need a modchip but im not going to get into that. B. You can't burn to the original. C. All I'm really asking is if I can use, say, rich's delorian and mustang on the ps2 version. I've modded a few of my other ps2 games before but not so much as altering the models... Chinese_Polarbear
Wow. I never thought it was possible. But you must be pretty talented to be able to mod a console game seeing as there aren't any options or files to mod it with like on a computer. limbfilter
What are you talking about...A console is a computer in a way. You can alter sound, movies, and sometimes loading screens. I have several modded copies of gta3 already but all I did was alter the radio stations...If no one has done it then fine. But it should be possible. tehhunter
correct me if i'm wrong, but i think you need a dvd-rom drive and a dvd-burner to modify dvd's. otherwise, i'm pretty sure that: @)I have a dvd-rom drive: you can look through the files B)I have neither: you can look, nor burn nothing. i'm pretty sure i'm right. limbfilter
You should pick up a dvd rom...they're not expensive. I can see the files just fine. You guys are so advanced when it comes to the pc version....I guess I'll try it and let you guys know how it turns out.
ChatterBox01
3. Or, you could just go up to Rockstar's programmers and force them to make you a special game with both GTA3 and Vice on it. Actually, that would be pretty cool........ That joke's been done before. In fact, in an exactly the same topic, buried somewhere in the GTA3 forums. Anyway, at least this topic is getting answers, in the last one, the guy who made it was laughed and flamed at until the topic was locked. CBox. limbfilter
Yeah...true... So far as I can see I'm right thus far. I can view weapons and wheels etc...still trying to find the modding tools...it seems that scene died...Possibly because everyone is playing vice. So far I have yet to see a reason why this won't work...

limbfilter
of course.....maybe I can get people started on the vice city modding scene although you will need a dvd burner for that one...
limbfilter
I have yet to hear back from the creator of the txd tool for vice so my idea was to use the original textures....ie: texture _rich_'s mustang with the textures in the original diablos txd. I'm sure this will work but I'm not a modeler. I can't figure out zmodeler at all....I posted a request for help in the 'textures and 3d modelling' section and got no reply. But that's because no one goes in there...So I tried to get help in the modification showroom, the only section modders visit now, to get some help and my thread was closed. Un til I can figure out how to do this it's on limbo. If you can help me or want to help texture the cars feel free to send me a PM.
tehhunter
it'd be shibylicious too have: a 1969 Chevy Corvette Diablo Stallion dodo in vice. that would be so awesome.
limbfilter
well adding stuff into vice won't happen until someone decodes the dff files...
