Multiple actors in director mode? (xbone)

Question

grove4lyfeG

I'm trying to make a little movie and i've been playing around with director mode, it seems there's no way to have multiple actors on screen at once and no way to set a scene with position of NPCs and vehicles. Is there?

I feel underwhelmed by this director mode tbh, i guess my hopes were too high. It seems the only way I can get multiple actors in the same scene is with online clips. Is there any word on allowing players to put AI actors down in the future?

Also, when i go into director, there's a glitch where like 99% of cars are the same car model, just different colours.

The only way you can do this is with online characters and a bunch of friends.

They might try add something like this later, but my expectations were fairly low but at least they were surpassed.

Director Mode is very general in its approach to creation, its as if they made it exclusively for creating rampage montages and chase videos, not that there's anything wrong with that if that's your bag.

If you are among the people who would like to create something more substantive you'll have to do a combination of things, Director Mode, Online Recording, and post production. For instance I plan to use my online characters, to get multiple actors I'm using some created captures for scene creation and with the minimum of one other player. We'll start captures for a single player shoot ( one active player, other player/s only assists the active player ), multi shoot (all active players, each player is solo shooting and contribute to each other if between completion of a shoot and if needed ) and group shoot ( all active players, each player is involved in a single shoot, contributing footage to the final project ).

I'll also be merging footage from Online Missions, Free Mode, and Director Mode, to fill in specific shots. For example, I need shots of my online characters opening their cellphones for certain scenes, I've only been able to get these shots in Director Mode. I've even been able to get green screen of my characters for much smaller shots.

All this footage will be put through post production on computer to add effects, compositing, remove green screen, color correction, add dialogue and other goodies.

Yeah I know it seems like an arduous process but it can work if you have the know how and like minded people there to assist you.

I'm not even sure how this would work to be perfectly honest. As a real director you have a cast, and all those members of the cast have a role in each scene, as written by the director. When the director shouts action, they all play their individual roles in that scene.

How could this even be achieved with GTA V's Director Mode? You can only control one character at a time, so how would you be able to 'direct' the other cast members, even if you could add them?

why not spawn some gangsters? I take back what i said before.

first of all you are going into director mode

at the trailer cast screen, pick to play as one of the gangster skins can be any of them but it has to be a gangster.

secondly, enter director mode.

now, what you wanna do is go back to the trailer cast screen and pick another gangster say for ex: you first picked a vago, then you'd pick a balla and so on..

continue doing this with each different gangsters for example

your first choice would be vago, then you go back and pick to play as a balla, then you pick a families gangster, then a triad, azteca, marabunta grande you get the drift keep doing this and now will have forced gangsters to spawn in director mode.

you want your list of ten characters to be each different gangster skins.

When you do this, you change most if not all of the traffic into gangster peds and they will shoot at you.

you can mix up the different gangster skins if you wanted to only spawn ballas/families only you would cycle through each of the balla and families sets and this changes the traffic into both ballas and families, mix and match however you want.

you don't necessarily have to be playing as a gangster skin to cause a gang war, if you want to play as someone else all you have to do is cycle through each and every different gangster skin(gangs) you wish to spawn and then respawn as the character you were playing as before. You could create an all ballas spawn to attack Franklin and so forth.

Making actors move from point A to point B, have specific reactions (not run from chaos for example), would be a huge help for me. Especially if camera roam range was per actor focus.

Simple'ish commands basically when triggered by something.

Yeah, I expect something like that might work.

That's ok if you have a good pc. Director is poor as a stand alone film making tool.

Yep, that's what I said. I consider it to be unfinished and/or beta of a full fledged Director Mode. The finished version would include the Creator Mode features, but you know, R* being R*.

Soran Is On

I would like to see a "Director Job" option added to the Creator. Then we can load proper scenes into Director mode.

what they need to do is allow you to record for the editor while testing a GTA contend, up to 20 actors, ive managed to have biker gangs hijack trucks and all sorts, limited camera angles makes it pretty sh*t though.

you can set the actors to fight eachother, use actos in cars to drive past triggering them to attack/give chase, only downside is you only have the view from your character
