Didnt Dan Houser write GTA V's story?

I don't think I'd trust somebody's word on anything after doing something like that.

I will certainly not disregard it just based on the GTA V impressions of his writing alone. Is it common among GTA IV fans to only focus at writing, and never take into account everything else from the gameplay standpoint, content and other things outside the writing, ( except, of course, IVs' existence is mainly for its writing ), because he never, ever, said anything about the writing for his reasons to underrate GTA SA???

That's exactly why it's underrated because just based on the writing people are quick enough to disregard how fun the gameplay in GTA SA itself is, as he rightly pointed out "it one of video gamery's great weird entertainments" a player can expect to enjoy ONLY in GTA SA!

Also, I am not sure you read the date of the article, and the fact he was talking about all the games, including GTA IV and RDR. That's another important reason why you can't disregard entirely.

9/10 for the gameplay, 6.5/10 for the storyline. Sorry, the story was just too tacky for me.

9/10 for me. Amazing map, tons of features, amazing and underrated storyline. Of course it has problems but so does every other game.

8/10 for me.

 

Pros:

 

-Lush world

-Brilliant Soundtrack as always

-So much weapons

-Car customization

-Customization in general

 

Cons:

 

-Story isn't that great, nor emotionally gripping

-Gang wars is cool, but I find no reason to do them

-AI is completely braindead

-Stealth is only restricted on missions, and when used outside of missions, most of the time it doesn't work

-Wanted System is dodgy, it looked like I was being stealthy and getting stars removed but actually I was to drive around with police spawning

-Uncessary roleplay elements that break GTA gameplay
