Rugby World Cup 2015

people were telling me to watch this, like suddenly it's getting hip or cool to watch rugby in the US, like when the World Cup is on and people pretend to enjoy soccer for 1 month every 4 years...

I tried to watch and rugby is just the same effect as soccer.

it's supremely boring. I can't help it.

I can't enjoy sports without any depth. it's too simple.

Though I'm not a huge rugby fan, I can truly appreciate the game (if you give it a try and learn a bit about the game, I'm sure you'll enjoy it too), mainly some NZ-AUS WC Final that was surely wished for.

Coolness for watching it surely not applied here.

As for (almost) only US sports, I really enjoy NBA.

Couldn't care less about NHL, MLB or even NHL, though I've learnt the rules some yrs ago and try to watch the Superbowl live (those mandatory/frequent advertisement breaks though...).

I'm a Football (Soccer) fan!

Some games/sports can really end up "even" with some "tie/draw".

I feel a bit sorry for you Diablo, though I'm sure you feel the same about me ;)

it's just too straight-forward.

rugby and soccer are in that same category. there's no real depth of strategy or playmaking, there's no good man-on-man matchups or complex statistics to follow. it's pretty much just putting around from one end of the field to the other. you pass to guys who are open and then try to score but the field is so massive that it takes like 20 minutes for anything to get going. there's so much downtime just waiting for them to get anywhere near the point of shooting/scoring.

American basketball and hockey would almost fall into this category, as well.

they're also pretty blunt and rely mostly on just putting up and down the 'field.' the difference is that the size of their playing 'field' is so much smaller that there's very little downtime.

I guess it's just the way we see it.

I was "built" on loving football (US named it as soccer), though not by my parents (at all).

I enjoy watching all sports even if just as a "sleeping drug" when watching some horse ridding, golf, luge, curling (my favorite chess game) or even tennis. I do thoroughly watch some of the previous, mainly if it's some Final of some sort.

I :inlove: the Summer/Winter Olympics

Fans will be fans, no matter what ;)

A few days in delay, but I surely couldn't let it pass.

I reckon, the 1st Rugby Superstar, by far the best I've ever seen playing the game, this guy was f*cking unbelievable:

A dude that with 1,96 mts (6' 5'') and 120 kgs (264 lbs) was still able to run 100 mts under 10,8 secs!

RIP mate!
