internetdude16
Is it possible to delete a single saved game? I have looked everywhere on the in-game menus but have not found anything I really don't want to have to delete all my saved game files!
Mr. Whoopee Sniper
START -> LOAD -> DELETE FILE -> [select file] -> YES That should do it.

WhoooMan
Use PS2 (without disc instered) to delete the saved games... you should have read the cautions on using the cheats before saving.

Superilldude
Why do you want to delete your save game.
Purple9
Why do you want to delete your save game. HE wants to free up space to maybe save other games on his memory card? The Precinct - We're upping our standards, so up yours!
Superilldude
could be.
Purple9
could be. If you're being sarcastic there I don't see the need for your question asking why he needs to delete some games... highely unnecessary. The Precinct - We're upping our standards, so up yours! internetdude16
Ok, for all you people who do not understand why I wanted to delete a single saved game, I'll type this very slowly so it won't be hard for you to read. I currently have three saved games on my memory card. One is of an old game, all missions completed, all hidden packages found, all assets completed, basically all except rampages and unique jumps. I started another new game and saved it on my memory card because I could not complete two unique jumps due to gitches, not cheats. This new game is the second saved game. One of my friends came over a couple of days ago and saved a third game with which he used cheats, the third file save. Clear enough?

Yiphic
Wow, I can't believe there was so much confusion over such a simple aspect of the game. 1.) First off, you can't delete a single save slot on Vice City. Maybe Rockstar somehow overlooked this. Who knows. All we know is that it is not possible. And hopefully it will be possible again in the sequels. 2.) When this question comes up, many people have explained how to use the PS2 browser (as if the person that asked was 2 years old and has never used the browser) and explained how to delete the file there. But this will wipe out all of your VC saved games, not any singular slot. 3.) It has nothing to do with cheats. Who knows where *that* came from. 4.) DONT turn your game off in mid-save to try to wipe out that slot. Again, all the slots are saved as one file on the memory card. If anything corrupts that file, they are all toast. Why would anyone even suggest that? Your best bet (however grueling it may be) is to have a 2nd memory card and use a load-from-first-card, save-to-second-card method to transfer the slots you want to keep to the 2nd card, then use the PS2 browser to copy the whole glob back to your main card. I hope it was just a mistake R* made by excluding the delete feature. If so, I bet someone got their ass chewed over it. I often wonder why the beta testers either didn't notice it, or didn't think it should be added.
Over The Wall
4.) DONT turn your game off in mid-save to try to wipe out that slot. Again, all the slots are saved as one file on the memory card. If anything corrupts that file, they are all toast. Why would anyone even suggest that? Nice response, but I know for a fact that in GTA3 when you turned off the system during a save it only wipes out that particular file. I remember for a fact because once I forgot to blow up all the tanks after I got the BP/EP Cheetah and it froze while I was saving. That particular file was the only one to get deleted. I'm lucky I haven't had a similar experience with vice, but if the memory card status junk remained the same from 3, I think it will only delete the file you are saving onto.. Don't me if you try and it fries your whole card tho cause i'm not 100%
internetdude16
Yes, Overthewall11, it did delete a single saved game in GTA3 if you turned off the system while it was saving. But then again, GTA3 also had the option to delete a single saved game. And thanks Yiphic for further clarifying the issue to those ignorant PS2/GTA users/players
